You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

I read the latest update but didn't post. I'm on the fence about trying BOG for one of our lunches. Maybe, after I see your food pics, I'll make up my mind on what to do.

The Dis is acting wonky today, can't change the font or it's size. :worried:
Hey! It's finally working!!

No worries about when you post, I'm just glad you are here. :goodvibes Don't be on the fence about BOG, I could understand about dinner since the choices are limited for most people, but not for lunch. There are so many great choices to pick for lunch, and their desserts alone are worth having lunch there. :cloud9:
I think everyone is put off by line and it's really not that big a deal to wait, it's totally worth it, even if it's to try it at least once. Honestly it's worth it just to see the inside of Beast's Castle. ::yes:: :lovestruc
Make sure the CM who takes you to your seat (after you order) gives you a tour of the place, that way you'll get to see all the rooms. We always choose the music room (not sure what it's called) I just called it the Green Room. :goodvibes It was quiet and quaint and not as loud as the main Ball room or as dark as the West Wing. :scared1:

Hey, it's my favorite part of the ride! :thumbsup2

 I think a lot of people would agree with you. I'm on the side of liking this ride. Much to the dismay of my daughter and son. :rotfl: It's a must, every trip! :thumbsup2

Good to know! I'd love to try this place out sometime, but it seems harder to get into than Ft. Knox.

For dinner, yes. But not so much for lunch, you just have to be willing to wait in line to get in. If you line up around 10:45 you should be one of the first groups of people to be served for the day. I believe they open at 11:00. There is a lot of seating so they probably take at least the first couple hundred people in line.

::yes:: Looks amazing!

It really is, you have to go at least once. I will warn you....there aren't any hamburgers.
I do have to say...the menu choices are beyond choice for the kids and adults alike, at least when it comes to their lunch items. :goodvibes I can't really speak to their dinner choices....just yet. ;)

Camille, sorry I missed the update. I really wasn't on the DIS all weekend except to post replies on my TR and do a quick update (family issues and a date with my hubby kept me away).

Oh Ms. Kat, never worry about how quick you get here, I know everyone has lives. Y'all are so patient to put up with my slow posting, so don't you ever worry yourself about my TR when you become busy. I'm still praying for your brother, how is he?

Mark and I are going to get a FP+ for Be Our Guest for lunch in September. We've done dinner three times and now want to try lunch.

You'll love lunch. Maybe even better than dinner.:thumbsup2

I love the picture of you and Mackie...you look so happy to be there. And if I didn't comment on it before, I love your shirt.

Aww, thank you Ms. Kat. We were having such a good time, and thank you about the shirt. It's funny you say this because I was thinking (when looking at the picture of me in it) it didn't look as cute on me as I had hoped. Oh well! :confused3 Wait till you see me in my Texas A&M shirt! :goodvibes

Great update and pics.

I would love to try it there for lunch but I would need fp+.

Thank you! :goodvibes

WOW! That is a truly beautiful venue! I have been out of my Disney groove for so long I have no idea what the NFL entails. At all. Time to start some research and there's no better place than right here on my good friends' TRs. YAY! Such awesome pix, Camille! I need to talk on the phone with you though to get a better description of the bigger picture there.

Any time, my friend. I think you will fall in love all over again when you get to see the new Fantasyland. They did such an amazing job. :lovestruc

Cinco de Mayo-

Ok, I want a headband like that! I truly do; and I'd totally rock it too.

LOVE Mackie's dress! We're looking for something like that for the bridesmaids, but in a below the knee length.

Day 1 - YAY! You're off!

Yeah, I can't sleep on a travel day either. To anywhere. Too many last minute thoughts- like "What'd I forget?"

HAHA! Your post reminded me of when I picked you up in the airport and I walked into the men's bathroom. :lmao::lmao: OH my heck! I still laugh out loud when I remember that.

Found the link for it....

LOVE Mackie's dress! We're looking for something like that for the bridesmaids, but in a below the knee length.

You mean the salmon colored one she had on? You'll find lots of dresses like that, but almost always on the short side. It's hard to find cute short dresses for Mackie because she's so long legged. We have a hard time finding one that doesn't look inappropriate. With her legs longer than the average bear, shorter shorts and dresses we have to be careful with. :scared: I don't like looking for the shorter dresses to start with, but with all the girls wearing them at her age.... I figure as long as everything is more than well covered then I have to pick a different battle. You know? Can't fight them on everything or they won't care about anything.

Day 1 - YAY! You're off!

Yeah, I can't sleep on a travel day either. To anywhere. Too many last minute thoughts- like "What'd I forget?"

I wasn't worried about bringing all the things I needed, I was too dang tired for that. :faint: And I knew with my list I had made out I'd get to WDW with everything I needed and more, and if I didn't....well, then I'd buy it when I got there. Just like you did with the toothbrush. :rotfl:

HAHA! Your post reminded me of when I picked you up in the airport and I walked into the men's bathroom. :lmao::lmao: OH my heck! I still laugh out loud when I remember that.

That was down right hilarious!!! :rotfl2: OMGoodness, going anywhere with you would be a fun adventure, and we wouldn't even need alcohol! Although, it would be an added bonus every once and a while.
We most certainly need to go on a trip to WDW together. :goodvibes You and Kat and I, we'd have so much fun we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves. :rotfl:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: one TR I'm not behind on. I lost my internet for a couple of days and then was busy making Disney reservations for March, May and September, and I am just catching up on everyone's threads after getting my own TR caught up yesterday.

How is your mom doing, my friend?

When I last left you, we were eating here....
Many pictures borrowed. Because...well, I didn't get as many as I should have because I wanted to take it all in as much as possible. :goodvibes

Waiting in one of these....

About to be here....

I so loved this restaurant, the theming was so outstanding!! We were so excited to finally be inside...

As we waited you could hear the suits of armor whisper/talking to one another....

http://youtu.be/d-fmqvmIuhQ

I'm not sure what the laughing in the middle is all about, but at least you get the point. :goodvibes
As you well know, it's all about the little details with Disney, and with this restaurant they did not disappoint.
You could heard Beauty and the Beast music being played all through out, and each room had a very distinctive feel and music to match. You truly felt like you were in the middle of the story and we felt like we were really visiting Beast's castle. I love how Disney immerses you in. :cloud9:

In the last few pictures I showed you the hall way with the suits of armor, of course while we were there it was full of people who were standing and looking at the menus, they would be the screens standing in the middle of the room....

The screen would change from time to time to show the entire menu, and even sheet music from one of the songs from the movie. :lovestruc I can't remember if the screen could be pulled back to look at something or not, you know, like you could on your smart phone? :confused3
The screens with the menu's were actually there to prepare you for the room at the end of the hall on the left, the parlor.....

This is the same parlor room but from the opposite perspective...

Aren't the details beautiful?!? And this is just the room to order in! :goodvibes Oh, and to have your picture taken with the Beast if you were there for Dinner.

The stacks that look like books are actually the computer screens you order from. Once you are in the room, this person hands you a rose and swipes it past this doo-hickey until the Mickey head lights up...

And then you wait until another CM calls you over to use an available screen, like this beautiful girl is doing....

Lucky girl found a seat.

There were a lot of people who didn't have a clue as to what they were doing with those new fangled interactive computer screen, menus, but that's okay there were plenty of CM's to help out if you got stuck. By our second time coming in we felt we had it down pat, so not to worry, it's pretty user friendly. ::yes::
I figure if I can swing it that quickly anyone can get it.

Continued in the next post....

continued from the last post...

Once there was an available screen we were called over. We were finally able to put in our order! :goodvibes It's a touch screen and it was pretty easy to use, pretty much everything is explained as you go along.

We put in our order and then you swipe the rose in front of this thing-a-la-la after you pay with your room key-now band...

and we were done!

There was a CM to make sure we got it in all correctly and then helped us out to the main Ball room...

Now you are starting to see why I steal pictures. :rotfl:

The CM could tell by our reaction that we were in total awe and new here, she quickly asked if we wanted a tour! We were more than willing participants and resounded with a very excited YES!!

She first showed us the West Wing..

What an amazing room!! You could hear ominous music playing, it fit the theming perfectly, there was even a storm going on "outside", and every so often you'd hear a loud clap of thunder. And of course there was the rose...

My little fart blossom with the rose....I promise the rose is in there. I know, my picture taking skills are lame. Now you see why I steal the pretty one's from the internet. :rotfl:

These were my pictures of the room....

And these were the better one's.

We finally made our way over to what I call the Green Room, I believe it's called Belle's library, although there isn't a book one to be seen. Just pictures of her reading to the other characters in some of the wall hangings. It's a lovely room and the room we decided to eat in every day were able to come and eat lunch here....which was a lot. :cloud9:

This was the beautiful work done on the floor as you were about enter in...

And this is the room....

We were starving and so happy to finally be able to sit down and eat! Before long the wait person came over with our order in this...

I felt so regal.

And before long we were eating one of these...

The two bottom one's. Mackie wanted the croque monsieur and I wanted the Turkey on the baguette, "Marie! The baguettes! Hurry up!" The croque is basically a ham and cheese with a béchamel sauce. Very yummy. And my turkey was very good. The fries....well, as you may remember I'm a stickler for my food coming out hot, so I sent them back for fresh one's. Not that it made them much better. <shaking head no>

As you know I've changed how I eat over the past to lose the weight and you may remember cutting back on salt was apart of that. When I bit into those fries I thought I was going to choke on the salt! :scared: I had so hoped against hope it was just a fluke at the Value resorts, I had hope the too much salt in the fries was limited to their food, sadly it was not. It was a property wide issue it seemed.
Oh well, I didn't need them any way and this way it saved calories fo rme to try the desserts. :goodvibes

We really loved our lunch and we were certainly looking forward to our desserts!! :goodvibes

We chose the chocolate and the strawberry. And they were lovely!!
The strawberry one had a fairly light sponge cake in it and the cream filling was beyond! What little I was able to get of it, Mackie had designs on it and I was intruding. The chocolate was just the right amount of chocolate to be good, I like a deep rich chocolate taste when I bite into a chocolate cake. The frosting was gorgeous! It too met up with my liking for chocolate desserts, which is pretty hard to do. I'd rather go without if it's not a good rich chocolate taste.
There are very few things in life that I have high expectations for and food I'm afraid is one of them, but only certain things about it. Such as....steaks should be cooked to my liking/order, I don't like sweet with my savory-typically, chocolate needs to be a deep, rich flavor and chocolate ice cream and I do not get along because it's usually a nasty fake flavor, and if I'm having a beer (which happens maybe-maaaaybe once a year) it better be darn cold. And certainly not least of which, food should be served hot. It doesn't have to be when it goes into my mouth, it just better show up hot, although I have been accused of having asbestos hands and mouth.

Of course the cupcakes were a bit too sweet for me (anything was going to be at that point- and I came to expect it), but all I needed was a bite or two and I was beyond happy. Mackenzie of course loved this because it meant she could finish off my desserts. I had a bite of both and they did NOT disappoint. And with that, our lunch at BOG is finished!

We were off to ride some rides and possibly see a "dead" celebrity.
Stay tuned. ::yes::

:rotfl: Sorry to disappoint Ms. Kat. Just when you thought you didn't have to do any catching up I sneak this one in on you. :goodvibes

I'm glad to know you've taken care of your trips, it must be fun planning that many trips. :goodvibes

Mom is hanging tough, the hospice nurse said she thinks mom might have a good month or so.
Mom see's things that aren't there and talks some pretty incoherent things so talking to her isn't really much of an option any more, she just get's upset (she has a lot of panic attacks-which I guess are normal and will continue to get worse as time goes on) when you do try and talk with her-no matter how light the conversation is, so I just try to stay out of the way, which is NOT easy. :worried:

Thank you for asking, sweet friend.

Okay, I see what you mean about the green room ! The rest of the castle is filled with wonderful detail, but when I saw that room, I could see how peaceful it felt in comparison - I love the arrangement of the tables, too! Your lunch looked delish - too bad the fries were cold. I'm pretty picky about textures and real flavors, too - but I rarely send anything back - much better to be proactive about what you want than to settle - :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear your mom is having panic attacks and less awareness. I hope you can really grab on to the more lucid moments and treasure those together. Praying for you daily!

Oh my! I thought you were going to break and not show us what you ate. Glad my curiosity is now satisfied with this place for lunch. I would love to try the roast beef or turkey sandwich.

And I'm still learning about this place through your TR. I didn't know the food was delivered via the food trolley cart thingy. What a nice touch. :)

I love your technical descriptions.... doo-hicky and thing-a-la la! :rotfl2 And Mackey is lovely in the West Wing fireplace. :cutie:

So glad that you enjoyed your lunch minus the salty fries. I'm a big fan of the strawberry cupcake myself.

Great update Camille. Love the pictures - both owned and stolen. You really captured the essence of the QS meal there. I would love to eat there for lunch but I sometimes wonder if I will ever be able to start standing in line at 10 am to do it. :rotfl2:

I wonder what time they STOP serving lunch and how they end up cutting the line off. Hmmmm.

anyway - glad you guys enjoyed your meal. It looked like you had a lot of fun!

.....been away 4 a while.:upsidedow

hope all is well.:goodvibes

T.T.F.N.:)
&
Cheers Y'all

YUM! What a lovely update. I would like to eat lunch there one day, we absolutely loved our dinner (spoiler alert lol). I agree about the fries...they taste great in the moment and then the rest of the day I am so thirsty it's insane.

YUM on the cupcakes, I do want to try the lemon one some day.

Hang in there with your mom, I can't even imagine how hard it is.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The restaurant looks amazing. We may just have to go there if for nothing but the atmosphere. Everything is so luxurious looking and pretty.

Hi Camille. I'm not sure if they're still doing it, but to touch on something from earlier. The FP+ for Be Our Guest was completely separate from the FP+ for the park, so it didn't take up one of the 3. In fact, I'm not really sure why they called it FP+ since it wasn't on your band. It was really just a reservation to arrive at a preselected time frame (i.e. between 1 and 1:30) and skip the line. Anyway, just wanted to point that out. :)

I totally missed the whispering suits of armour. Maybe it was too loud when I was there?

But isn't that place amazing???? I was quite in awe and did my own tour after lunch. I had a great spot in the ballroom and just loved it. And the fact that they find you by the rose (and now via Magic Band) is well, pretty darn magical.

:rotfl:

It would be a most epic adventure for sure!! And I can totally see Kat and you and I. It'll be a few years out when I start my real income, but meantime, let's dream and plan and concoct great exploits... :hyper:
