You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

Trying to catch up all around.

Sorry to hear your mom was in so much pain and the tumors are growing again.

Thank goodness they seem to be under control and hopefully she will be comfortable.

LM is such a wonderful ride.

I have had my surgery. Lots of pain and discomfort in the beginning but getting better daily.
Sorry about your mom but glad to hear she is getting comfortable.
You got some great shots on Little Mermaid. Oops I think I read you took them from the internet. LOL

Oh Scott, I wish I had known! I'm so sorry, I would have been praying for your surgery and initial recovery to go well. I can't imagine how rough this has been for you, I'll be praying for you from here on out. :thumbsup2 Be brave, and know your whole world is about to change! :thumbsup2

All caught up again.

Hope your mom responds to the new treatments and she gets some relief from the pain. Sending lots of pixie dust from WDW.

Jill in CO

:lovestruc Thank you so much, Jill. I have tears to know you took time during your vacation to come here and comment. I hope you had an amazing time. :goodvibes Mom is doing okay for now, she's in a lot less pain, not sure where the cancer is going from here, at least at this point.

Hi Camille! I loved your LM update! Mackie looks so cute posing outside the ride. Thanks for sharing the pics of the queue, when we went it was a walk-on and everyone was running ahead so fast that I hardly noticed what was around us. That is one draw back to no line. :rotfl:

Thank you Tammie, she was actually in a good mood about taking the picture for once. And you are right, it's hard to take everything in when there is no line, you feel like you need to rush through to get to the ride. :yay:

I'm praying they got a little more of a handle on your mom's pain. Sounds like the steroids have their own set of challenges. Don't forget to get some rest and take care of yourself, also.

They did, thankfully. Oh! The steroids, OY! I have been doing okay on the taking care of one's self so far. It's hard to fit in the exercise when you are so tired you can hardly see straight. Just being worn out is one thing, I can push through that, it's the being so drained I'm afraid I'll hurt myself while exercising that has be not wanting to do it at times. I have to be better about pushing myself when I know I have the strength to 'get in' there and get it done.

I'm glad you two enjoyed the new FL and Little Mermaid so much! Makes me excited to see it someday.

Thank you Mark, I wasn't sure I'd find it all that great of a ride since so many complained about it being a typical, boring, dark, ride. I actually found a lot of thrill in just seeing a ride that was done recently and all the hard work it took to put it together. We both waited with baited breath for it to be done and to be able to be there and ride it!! :goodvibes It was worth the wait, IMO. :thumbsup2

Trying to catch up all around.

Not to worry, I'm just so glad to have you here so soon after your return. :goodvibes I hope your trip was amazing and just what you needed. :)

Sorry to hear your mom was in so much pain and the tumors are growing again.

Thank you, Pat. She's having a rough go of it, I think we're seeing the start of the end. Mom is starting to lose momentum to keep pushing forward, and I know when that starts it's closer to what I had hoped wouldn't come this soon. I just have to follow her lead, I'm in support of what ever she wants to move forward with or not move forward with, it's her body, her choice. You know? :worried:

Thank goodness they seem to be under control and hopefully she will be comfortable.

She's so much better than where she was, thank Goodness.

LM is such a wonderful ride.

We loved it!! :lovestruc It's themed so well, I'm actually excited to see what they do with Peter Pan! With it being down for so long, it's my great hope they refurb that ride's little heart out!! It's in such need of a major over hall. ::yes:: It's a shame they've let it go this long.

Day 1......Still.

Cue Chariots of Fire....

Bless Mackie, she kept saying "Awww, Mama...it's okay, it's okay. I couldn't control myself!! I could not stop crying and thinking about how far I had come...

To finally.....

Me, 80 lbs. thinner. It's not the greatest picture, but it was at the very moment I had been describing. I was finally here, I had finally made it!!!
I was so happy and so in the moment I didn't care who saw me crying. Mackie and I took our pictures of one another in front of the ME bus, we were soooo happy to be there, it was a long time coming but we were there........finally. <big happy sigh>

Camille, You look amazing! I am going to read this whole thread shortly .. I think it's amazing how you stuck with it during all the stressful times in your life KUDOS! I am currently working towards a goal of 50 lbs (I started in Feb 2013 lost 27 lbs had a summer of bread, chips and fruit gained back 25 and am now recommited and in week 2 down 7.5 lbs today!) Thank you for sharing your journey.. Michelle

Howdy, Michelle! :wave2:

:welcome: party: :welcome:

And thank you so much!! It's a lot of hard work, but it's truly worth the challenge.

If you want the background story as to how I started this whole thing there is a link my signature to the PTR. Since there are links to the posts you could probably read through the first handful of posts to get the gist of how this journey started. :goodvibes

By the way, there is nothing wrong with eating fruit or even breads. I eat them all the time! :) I just make sure to eat the fruit with my protein shake and or eat fruit with a meal that includes protein. Although, that may not work for you, but I don't believe eating fruit inherently causes one to gain weight, I just think it's all in how you eat it and how much.
There are some higher on the glycemic index than others and I do try and limit those-bananas, pineapple, watermelon, but sticking with any kind of berry, apples, oranges, pears, plums, peaches, grapes, you can't go wrong. Just make sure to stay within the 1 1/2-3 servings a day and you are good! :thumbsup2

As for bread, I make sure when I eat breads that are complex carbs, nothing white. But I also limit it to once a day if I have it. I do try and limit them, but not avoid them, I just don't think it's realistic. It's certainly not the way we'd eat if we weren't trying to lose weight. I don't adhere to the idea that we should eat one way while losing and not the same way when we're done losing, it doesn't make sense and it's a sure fire way to gain the weight back. With that being said, this means I eat things (including the occasional cheats) while I'm losing that I would maintain if I weren't losing. That way there are no sudden changes and there for no sudden weight gains when I'm done losing the majority of my weight. :) I hope to heck that made sense! :rotfl:
I believe that about exercising as well, if you did it to get the weight off then it also needs to be done to keep it off. At least in my opinion.

Keep at it, Michelle! You can do this, you've done it before which tells you that you have what it takes to get there. Just modify a few things and then you'll stick with the loss this time!! :thumbsup2

Choo-Choo!

We had us a train to catch!!

Don't you just love the new FL train station?!? I truly love what they did with this area. I love all the iron work and all the details, when they were doing the refurb I was concerned they wouldn't give the iron work the attention it deserved, I should have known better, it's Disney!! Of course they would give it the attention it needed to be done well! :lovestruc

Mackie and I were finally on the train and about to take a beautiful ride through the park. We always love taking the train, it's an easy way to relax and to see different parts of the park as well as save our feet a little as the day goes on. :thumbsup2

We made our way off the train and headed to....

We had our Splash to get on!! Sadly it was not open yet to difficulties (which seemed to be a theme the entire trip :worried:) so headed to...

We made our way through the line fairly quickly and on to a run away train!!

As soon as we got off we decided it was time to get a FP for Splash and then check on the line to see if it had opened yet. Sure enough it had and we were admiring all the beauty that was before us. I had never seen Splash Mt. so beautiful!!

I realize I sound like a total Polly Anna right now, but I want to assure you this ride refurb was probably one of the best I had seen on property. I was so in love with all the bright colors, and especially all the purple and blue tones they added to the ride....

Everyone looked so beautiful!! :cloud9:  I of course couldn't capture the true beauty so I borrowed all of these beautiful pictures from the internet. But who cares!! Look at the beauty to behold....

Continued in the next post.....

continued from the last post...

I remember when these flowers were so faded and dusty it was pathetic! Now look at them!! :lovestruc

This ride made Mackie and I so happy. :cloud9: We felt they finally did a refurb worthy of the ride!!

We were so enamored and on such a high we decided that we needed something to commemorate the occasion, something we had never done before....

Please excuse the over exposure...

Good Heavens!! <said in her best Fairy God Mother voice> Would you look how white I am and how huge my ring is on me!! :rotfl2: You know things, but when you see them in pictures....oooh boy.

Can you tell what we got?!? Yup! You guessed it!! Mickey bars!! We neither of us had one before so, we decided this was the time to do it!!

To back up a little....at first it was almost impossible to find them!! It was early enough in the morning that all the little kiosks hadn't really opened just yet so we went over to the little shanty that's right there in Frontier land just off the bridge that runs almost into the front of Splash Mt. and asked them where we could find them, they had a little covered area next to the shanty where they put all the ice and drinks out for everyone to see, but no one was there just yet.
A few minutes later we saw a CM walk behind there so we decided to ask him when he thought he might be opening, bless his heart he looked like he was already stressed out trying to get things in order, but in true Disney fashion he asked what it was that we were looking for.
In unison we both said..."Ice Cream Mickey bars." He smiled, turned around and then turned back to us with his palms facing down as he slid two Mickey bars to us and said.."Have a magical day, Shhhh." We both looked at each other exactly like this.....

What a magical way to start out the rest of our day!! With 'Dad of the Year' long out of our heads, we had already been Under the Sea, to see a Mermaid, caught a run away train and been on the most beautiful Splash Mt. to date and now free Mickey Bars!!! We told him thank you profusely and that they were our first one's, he smiled such a big smile, said it was his pleasure and to enjoy!!

Oh trust me, we were going to....

Please excuse the hair. After all I did manage to survive a run away train and Splash Mt., I think it was actually looking pretty good, considering. :rotfl:

This is where we'll have to leave it my brothers and sisters. I need to get going on my workout, gotta squeeze them in where I can, I have two appointments to get my mom to this week.

Be blessed.:)

Camille, what a fun update.

Mark insists on riding the train around the one park at least once every trip.

Splash Mountain has looked better; I just wish they could fix it so it isn't always breaking down.

Your first ever Mickey Bar. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

You didn't think it looked good?

And YES!! I wish it would stop breaking down, it was down most of the day when were there one of our MK days, even most of the water was drained out. We were seriously sad. :worried:

Your first ever Mickey Bar. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I know!! :goodvibes  It was a bit sweet for me, but that's because I wasn't use to the sugar. It was still good though. :)

Great morning at MK. You got lots done and a Mickey Bar on Mickey. :thumbsup2

I love all the little touches in Storybook Circus. :goodvibes

It was!! :goodvibes It was turning out to be a really great morning, and that was just the start of the day!!

I really love all the amazing touches they've come up with in all of the new areas of FL, Disney really outdid themselves, as always. :lovestruc

I hope you were able to enjoy yourself this last trip, I hear it was pretty hot. :worried:

Camillie, can you believe I have never had a Mickey Bar either. I do believe I'm going to add that to the bucket list and actually have one, even if it means I have to run an extra mile (or two) to burn off the calories. :lmao:

Not sure if I have told you this or not, but your before and after pictures are amazing... You have so much to be proud of. :thumbsup2

I sometimes type too fast and don't put down what I mean.

Yes, Splash Mountain did look good after a few shabby years. But it still breaks down way too much (we've ridden it once in the last three years because it is always down).

When you aren't used to having sugar, I imagine it would taste a little sweet to you; but glad you liked it.

While I'm there in the Mutha land I don't worry about it. I don't go crazy, but I don't worry about what I do have because all the walking burns it off any way. :goodvibes I also hadn't had a Dole whip or float before. I finally had the float this trip and it was soooo good, I only had a few bites because of the sweet factor but it was really good.

Not sure if I have told you this or not, but your before and after pictures are amazing... You have so much to be proud of. :thumbsup2

Thank you Bob. I have much better pictures to share later on in the trip. :goodvibes

I know just what you mean. :upsidedow

I know!! I don't get it, it must have been some sort of new upgrade to the ride system that they tweaked and it's not as good as it should be. That thing is down waaay more than it should be. I hear there is another long "refurb" happening this winter, I'm hoping that will do the trick. Mackie and I love riding it over and over and over again, especially at night when everyone is waiting to watch the parade and Wishes. :lovestruc

When you aren't used to having sugar, I imagine it would taste a little sweet to you; but glad you liked it.

I did!! And yes, there was major sugar overload on most stuff, but that's okay. It kept me from eating too much of one thing, I'd eat a few bites and let Mackie have it or throw it out if she didn't want it. Helped hold me accountable. ::yes::

Hi there Camille! I'm so glad you were able to use my Splash Mtn photos! :rotfl2::lmao: And I so lie! :p

I love the zippity doh dah-ness of SM being so fresh and vibrant after the refurb. It's just such a classic that deserves to be kept in mint condition. :)

What a wonderful gesture from that CM - your first Mickey bar with a touch of pixie dust! I've never had one either but then again I'm not a big ice-cream fan.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm trying to picture where the FL train station is located and I'm drawing a blank. I know where the former stop was when Toontown was there but I don't remember even seeing the train in FL the last few trips. I really need to pay attention. :rolleyes1

I know I've said this before but I can't say it enough... You look absolutely FABULOUS!! Seriously, what an awesome accomplishment!

I'm so happy to hear that her pain is under control, and I hope she adjusts to the steroids.

It is hard to get your work out in when you are so tired. You may need to modify things a little so you don't hurt yourself. Do you find you have more energy once you get the workout done?

Love the pics from Splash! I didn't realize it was changed, but it felt somehow different. I have trouble because of going to DLR a lot, too- sometimes if something is different, I just think I saw it at the other park.

Great pixiedust: score on the Mickey Bars - I'll bet they were even sweeter because of how you got them. :goodvibes

at first i didnt think those could be your splash photos. then i read a little closer and saw they werent
:rotfl: i thought they were a little to perfect for ride photos.

but :cool1: on the free mickey bar.

Hi there Camille! I'm so glad you were able to use my Splash Mtn photos! :rotfl2::lmao: And I so lie! :p

:rotfl:I wish I could take photos that well. Maybe one day. :)

I love the zippity doh dah-ness of SM being so fresh and vibrant after the refurb. It's just such a classic that deserves to be kept in mint condition. :)

Yes! I totally agree. I was so sad to see such a beautiful ride not getting the attention it deserved. When we went in 2007 and in 2010 I was so disappointed to see they hadn't really done a big enough refurb on the ride to make a difference. Or at least not on the things I was looking at any way. Everyone looked so beautiful and fresh when we went on this last time, I couldn't get over it!! I was truly thrilled to see it in such beautiful condition this time. If I had to complain I'd say the sound system was a bit on the loud side. I've heard others say this too, but it just may be that I as well as the other few I've heard say this, have a bit of sensitive ear. :confused3

What a wonderful gesture from that CM - your first Mickey bar with a touch of pixie dust! I've never had one either but then again I'm not a big ice-cream fan.

It really was, he was such a sweet kid to do that for us. :goodvibes I'm not a big ice cream fan either, but every once and a while I like to have it.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'm trying to picture where the FL train station is located and I'm drawing a blank. I know where the former stop was when Toontown was there but I don't remember even seeing the train in FL the last few trips. I really need to pay attention. :rolleyes1

If you are walking near Dumbo and the Barn Stormer it's actually right there next the Barn Stormer. Next to that and the sorta secret walk way between FL and Tomorrow land. The train station was done so well, actually all of that area was done really well, wish I had spent more time over there. I only rode Dumbo once the whole trip and it was at night, that was about the only real time I spent in that area. :worried:

I know I've said this before but I can't say it enough... You look absolutely FABULOUS!! Seriously, what an awesome accomplishment!

Thank you. I actually have much better pictures to share later on, I'm just staying in the moment of what I'm reporting on. :upsidedow
Now if I could just get in enough workouts in a week to finally get these pounds off!! I've been losing the same darn pounds over and over and over again. With mom's appts. I'm just not able to get in enough workouts in a week to make a dent for very long. :rolleyes2 Now that my mom found another way to get to some of her weekly appts. (and to help take some of the load off of me), I'm hoping I'll be able to get somewhere with this again. Cross your fingers! :thumbsup2

Just being worn out is one thing, I can push through that, it's the being so drained I'm afraid I'll hurt myself while exercising that has be not wanting to do it at times. I'm so happy to hear that her pain is under control, and I hope she adjusts to the steroids.

Yes, me too, on both accounts. She's almost unbearable to be around at times, and if you ask her any questions wondering if she's doing what she's doing out of the pain meds taking over or if she really knows what she's doing, (such as grocery shopping-she'll shop just to shop when on pain meds-things she doesn't always need) you may get an ear full. I hate feeling like I have to question my mom, but when you know she's on a fixed income you some times have to do what isn't fun. Some times I get yelled and cursed at out in public over this, it makes for a interesting situation.

It is hard to get your work out in when you are so tired. You may need to modify things a little so you don't hurt yourself. Do you find you have more energy once you get the workout done?

It's not really a matter of needing to modify anything, I'm concerned about injury no matter what kind of workout, it's that intense of a tired. When I'm that tired I don't even attempt to try and workout, after dealing with injuries that have put me out of commission for years I don't take chances. :sad2: As for when I do have enough energy to workout....it's hit or miss if I have energy after a workout, usually no since I do my workout late in the afternoon. I wish I were a morning workout kind of gal, it just doesn't work for me. Best I can do with getting a workout in early is early afternoon and then yes I do usually have a lot of energy after wards, but I seem to hit a wall big time around 8 o'clock. :confused3

Love the pics from Splash! I didn't realize it was changed, but it felt somehow different. I have trouble because of going to DLR a lot, too- sometimes if something is different, I just think I saw it at the other park.

Thanks, wish I could take credit for them! :rotfl: They did a major refurb on it this last winter, it was down for a long time, from Jan 4th-March 21st. They refreshed everyone, added some new lighting, new sounds system, fixed everything that was no longer working, over all an amazing transformation. :goodvibes Here's a youtube video showing the differences...

Great pics! :)
:upsidedow Can't take credit for them.

but :cool1: on the free mickey bar.

What are you trying to say, Dan! :rotfl: I was pretty sure I posted I didn't take them. :)

Yes, it was a magical treat to get some Mickey bars on Disney. :thumbsup2 :mickeybar

The first week was hard but now walking almost 4 miles a day and I was put on soft food yesterday and feel so much better since.

Love taking the train.
Great pic of Splash Mountain.
I think next month I will ride SM again. Been about 5 years now since I have.
Ooh a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. YUM! And free. :cool1::cool1::mickeybar
