You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

Great job getting up and out on time! Wow, that shower is kind of an immersion in the décor, I guess. :thumbsup2 I wonder when they painted the sign? I think it felt different to me when we were there, but I don't go often enough to know. :confused3

Thank you!! I have to say, I don't think there were too many days where we didn't get out the door on time. Getting to the park on time due to the buses, that's a different story.

That's a good question, I'm not exactly sure when they changed it. I found a post on a blog that showed the updated paint job back in Oct. 12 last year, so I'd say somewhere around then or slightly before? :confused3

I do love the look of the Little Mermaid rooms at AoA. So pretty! I'd probably end up standing in the shower forever just mesmerized by the walls. :lmao:

I do too, so cute. It was fun to see the look on my daughters face when she saw it, she really loved how well they themed the rooms, the whole resort for that matter. :goodvibes

I think you, Mackie and I are the only one's who like the shower. :rotfl:

Mackie and I are finally on a bus and were heading to....

Magic Kingdom!!! :dance3: :banana::dance3:

That's right folks, we were finally making our way to a park and it's our favorite park at that. :goodvibes

I love everything about Mk, it's smells, the music, it's showman ship, it's beauty, it's character, and that magical feeling you don't find anywhere else on earth, except Disney Land. :lovestruc

I love how it makes little kids look at things with such amazement and magic in their eyes, and yes some times fear until they realize it's all okay and it was all made just for them. And even better than that, it also was built for the adults to have just as great a time right along with them!

I love how one mans dream, while sitting on a park bench, along with his big heart and abounding imagination, made this magical place happen for millions and millions of people from all around the world. :cloud9:
I also love how this place has been a place of tradition, a place of healing, yes, you heard me right, a place of healing. And last but certainly not least, a place of joy. Not just for the patrons who come there, but the people who built it, imagined it, and have reimagined it over the years and will for many more to come. :cloud9: <big happy sigh>

We're making our way to the MK, the bus passes the queue point for the music to start and to welcome it's guests. This of course sparks the kid in me and I start dancing in my seat, thoroughly embarrassing my child of course.
We get off the bus and quickly make our way over to the bag check, the bag check guy was hilarious, he was from Massachusetts and with his heavy accent he was giving me a hard time about what might be in my bag.
We finally make our way through and headed to Will Call to be sure our ticket situation was taken care of. Since we weren't on a package just yet (not until we get to CSR) we had to get our tickets, at least that's how I remember it, if I remember more I'll be sure to tell you.

We excitedly get our tickets in hand and we make our way over to the line. Mackie and I line up, and then start to hear....

Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to the Most Magical Place on Earth:

The Magic Kingdom!

This is it! This is the start to our magical day!!

We listen to the opening show, hear the confetti shoots go off and we turn around to start making our way through the line when all of a sudden ::::::screeeeech:::::: <that was our magical moment coming to a screeching halt incase you were wondering>

"REALLY?!? REALLY?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? NO SERIOUSLY, GO AHEAD!"

After hearing this person going on and on, I finally turn around to see what the issue is, thinking....do we already have a snarky parent starting something with someone, first thing in the morning?!?
Yup! And low and behold, it was with me and Mackenzie. When I turn around I see this man with a double stroller sort of standing off to the side of us who thinks Mackenzie and I cut in front of him. He wasn't directly behind us so I wasn't sure what he was so upset about.

Now, I don't know if y'all know how the lines work now, but if you are going through the new RFID lines, it's a bit confusing and probably needs a little tweaking as you start out, I admit you don't really know where you are getting into the line at first, which I believe started this confusion to start with. Eventually the line turns into two lines and then that line actually kinda splits again allowing two people on each side to scan their cards. I know that sounds a bit confusing, but let me see if I can clarify....
As you are in one line, that line actually V's into two lines, it's genius if you ask me, so as it V's it V's again and two people on each side can use a scanner at one time, so technically it can allow four people to check through the scanner at one time, it's totally brill!! Brilliant once you are up there, but kinda confusing if you are waiting further back in the line and don't know what's up ahead. Which brings you darling, pissy, dad of the year, who is literally yelling at me and Mackenzie at this point.

As I figure out what his issue is I say, "I apologize sir, but I assure you we are not cutting in front of you, I know this line is a bit confusing at the moment, but if you could see how the lines split up here you'll see what I'm talking about."
Ooooh no, he wasn't having any of that! "SO NICE OF YOU TO CUT IN FRONT OF A PERSON WITH LITTLE KIDS IN A STROLLER!!"

I was so hoping he would see what the lines were actually doing once some of the people cleared but he wasn't going to let it go, so I did what I thought would end the situation and said..."By all means, if you think you were ahead of us and you think it will make you feel better then go in front of us, we really weren't trying to cut in front of anyone, as you can see most everyone will get in about the same time, but if that will make you feel better, please."

"NO! NO!! GO RIGHT AHEAD, YOU'RE ALREADY THERE AND HAVE ALREADY CUT IN FRONT OF ME AND MY KIDS!!"

Mackie gave me this scared look like what was I going to do and then he started in again.
That was it!! I was done, this man thought he knew it all when he clearly didn't, he was already managing to ruin the start to my magical day and dang it!! he was going to hear about it! Time to break out the big guns, I was going all Texas-Mama on his butt!

"Look! SIR!! I tried to be nice, and I even tried to apologize!! But you aren't being a gentlemen about this, and quite frankly you are starting to ruin the start of our first morning in the parks, AND TICKING ME OFF in the process!! If you want to go on to be dad of the year and yell at others in front of your kids, by all means, but as for me and my daughter....stop your tantrum throwing and shut up about it already!"

He went on to say something else snarky and I just turned around before he could get too many words out and I loudly said...

"Have a Magical Day Dude!!" As if to say, I WAS DONE!!

Mackie thought this was hilarious, so did a few others around us, but I didn't really care, I just wanted to get away from this guy, who (thank God) by that time had already v'd off into the other part of the line that he didn't realize was going to happen.

I realize I wasn't my finest in that moment, trust me, I could have been muuuuch worse especially when you start scaring my kid, "it's not a pretty picture-I don't like doing it" <said in her best scary Genie voice> but I knew their were kids around-including his, other families trying to have a magical day, and Mackie standing next to me.
Not to mention, this was our first day, I was trying to be in the moment and have a great time, and the more reasonable side of Camille kept telling me not to let him get to me, he's probably having a bad day, just ignore him.

Mackie could see I was still upset at the moment and almost in angry tears and said, "Mom, don't let him ruin our day, he's already ruined his and his kids, you earned this and we're here to have fun! Come on, let's go have fun!"
She was right, but I was so full of adrenaline at the moment I wanted to find him and give him an even bigger piece of my mind!! But thankfully, a cooler head prevailed, took my hand and started dragging me through the tunnel to our beloved Magic Kingdom, all the while my child is loudly saying "Have a magical day, dude!" and laughing loudly "That was great mom!" :rotfl:
That's my baby, she's the best at pep talks and encouraging others, she was actually my biggest cheerleader through my weight loss. Still is. :lovestruc

Once we were walking down Main St. and took Mackie's picture....

all was forgotten. :lovestruc How can anyone stay upset when they are in their magical place?!? :goodvibes

We were making our way over to the new FL...

We were absolutely enchanted with the new FL, it was beautiful. But sadly I didn't take a lot of pictures of it. You see, on our first trip in 2007 I went thinking I'd never be back, so I took TONS of pictures, so much so I felt like I missed out on most of the trip because I was behind the camera the whole time.
Not good, so the next trip we took (2010) I felt I needed to be more present and not take as many photos, it worked out pretty well and felt I had a much better trip. This trip I think I took that approach from the start, I was not going to ruin our moments of first seeing things and not try to take it all in as much as I could without being behind a camera the whole time.
It made for a good trip, but not as many photos as I probably should have gotten, so please forgive me for not getting every moment on camera. :upsidedow

As we strolled through and were mesmerized by all the beautiful additions of FL, we were actually on a mission, we were on our way to see a mermaid without long lines. We should have been making our way over to see Belle, but Mama's girl wanted to see her favorite Mermaid and frankly I was excited to see this amazing new ride they built for her, Ariel that is.

Well, it's about that time. I need to get a workout in before picking up Mackenzie from school. Be blessed and thank you for reading along. :flower3:

Camille, you are a much better woman than me. Trust me, I would NOT have let it go that easy (we had a run in on the tram and the lady almost got a punch!). I love that Mackie helped you move on and enjoy your magical place and forget about Mr. Grumpy Pants.

Love the pictures in the new FL with Mackie. Isn't it just a beautiful area? They did such a good job there.

Give it to the bonehead girl! What a role model for his kids huh? :sad2:

Mackie was so sweet to get you back on track and help avoid a disaster of a morning. :thumbsup2 Like you said, you deserved this trip. ::yes::

Camille, So sorry to hear about that horrible incident with the "Dad of the year." I remember our first year at Disney, my DD at that time was 10, and was run over by a guy pushing a stroller filled with everything but a child. He hit my daughter, knocked her over, and caused her to start crying. Before anyone said a word, he looked at my daughter on the ground, I thought he was going to say, "I'm sorry" or "are you ok?"; but noooooo he said, next time get the ***K out of the way and you won't get hurt. I am a very mild manner person, but when it comes to physically hurting my child I can't ignore that. I had to speak my word minus his temper and profanity. Like you, I moved on and we had a great time.

On a lighter note, I love your pictures on Main Street. I am not ashamed to say this, and I will still retain my "Man Card," but every time I enter Main Street for the first time my eyes leak a little of my manhood. (as on the tv commercial.) :rotfl2:

Ooooh, I don't know about that. I truly did hold it in though, there so many families with their babies (of all ages) around and this is supposed to be a magical place for everyone, I just didn't want to ruin it any further than this guy already was.

(we had a run in on the tram and the lady almost got a punch!). :rotfl2:
Now that would have been a sight to see!! :rotfl: I hate how people feel so entitled these days, as if they were the only ones who spent all that money to be there.

I love that Mackie helped you move on and enjoy your magical place and forget about Mr. Grumpy Pants.

That's my sweet, baby girl for ya, she knows how to get her Mama in a good place, she's also a whiz at frustrating the snot out of me too, but that's a story for another time.

Love the pictures in the new FL with Mackie. Isn't it just a beautiful area? They did such a good job there.

Thank you Ms. Kat. :goodvibes It is a beautiful area, we were totally smitten with it. I think we were there almost every park day except for two. Some how we'd find our way back over there. :goodvibes

Great update! :)

Thank you, wiigirl. :)

Give it to the bonehead girl! What a role model for his kids huh? :sad2:

Oh trust me, I've had my moments in front of my kids before. Sadly :worried: I think most of us have had bad days and unleash at the wrong moments. I just wasn't about to at that moment with all the kiddos around. I just hope he wasn't like that all the time.

Mackie was so sweet to get you back on track and help avoid a disaster of a morning. :thumbsup2 Like you said, you deserved this trip. ::yes::

Yes she did, she's a good girl, a girl after her Mama's heart. ::yes:: Thank you, Ms. Lisa, I certainly worked hard for it. :)

Camille, So sorry to hear about that horrible incident with the "Dad of the year."

Thank you, Bob. It almost ruined my morning, but I was quickly swept away in the magic and having a wonderful time before I knew it.

 Oooooh, Bob. I don't know how you kept it together, that would have been a Mama Bear gonna knock someone out moment for me, I don't even know the stroller would have made it out okay! I just thank God I've never been tested that way, it would NOT. end. pretty. :sad2:

Thank you, Bob. I just wish I had taken a few more pics than I did. Mackie was anxious to get going and wasn't holding still for long.
And no manhood being jeopardized , Main St. will and always remain an emotional place for a lot of people, including me. :cloud9:

Oh my! You had the perfect parting remark, "have a magical day dude." Wow... not sure why he even cared about his place in line since it would have been a difference of about what, 15 seconds to make it through the entrance.

We had a lady yell at my Emmy at Tokyo Dining one time because she was locked out on the patio after she went through a door that locks behind her with her kid for whatever reason. She was banging on the door to be let in and we couldn't tell where the sound was coming from. Apparently she could see in but we couldn't see out through the windows and Em was facing the window. When someone eventually let her back in she looked right at Em and yelled at her, "you saw us out there and you didn't do anything." What?? I was shocked she was attacking my kid and if I had to do it over I would have handled it different because I actually apologized to her and said we didn't know she was out there since we can't see out. I was ready to say more if she kept on but she shut up.

We were done with dinner anyway so we left but Em was so upset. I told her to not let rude people get to her. That lady made a fool out of herself by yelling at a kid. Errrr... (Ok, thanks for letting me relive that glorious moment!! )

Anyhoo.... Glad that you were able to see the NFL and enjoy the magic of Main Street. I love the last photo of Mackie by the mermaid sign. Lovely!!

 I actually said it a couple of times, he kept trying to say something and I would just say "Have a Magical day Dude!" louder than he was talking, and after a couple of times he stopped. What a bonehead.

:guilty: Poor Em. It stinks when people are so mad they can't listen to reason. I'm sure that's what was happening with the guy yelling at us, but what I couldn't figure out was what in the world did he have to be so upset about that early in the day?!? :confused3 To be honest, I don't have a clue about his life, for all I know his wife was sick, he lost his job...who knows. Still doesn't make it okay for him to treat us badly.

Anyhoo.... Glad that you were able to see the NFL and enjoy the magic of Main Street. I love the last photo of Mackie by the mermaid sign. Lovely!!

We did! :goodvibes I think we managed to see MK all but two days out of all of our park days. If we didn't go during the day, we were there during the evening after dinner, we couldn't stay away!

I'm so glad you are here reading. :)
How is the visit with your boy going?

How is the visit with your boy going?

Awww thank for asking. Unfortunately I've been in the office the last 2 days so haven't been around for him to drop in and visit. However, we are going to dinner tomorrow night. He just picked up his new car that he ordered so he's a happy soldier. :)

Your ankle must be doing much better if you're back in the office. That's good! Or maybe not, depending how you look at it.

Wow! New car, I bet he is a happy soldier!! :thumbsup2 Good for him, he's earned it. :)

Well what a jerk trying to ruin your first morning! Also, how stupid can you be - you are just going to be milling around in the holding area anyway - so he could pick his spot once he got inside anyway.

I'm glad you chose to put it past you and just enjoy the morning with your girl! Nice pics at NFL! Good decision on the pics. :thumbsup2 I think I have been taking lots of pics and writing TRs in my head while I travel instead of just "being there." This last time I did the same thing you did - just enjoyed the fam and the little moments - I think it worked out better!

You finally made it in but not without the rude Dude first. I have had my share of crazy people lately too at home and I just want to yell have a magical day so maybe now I will. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to NFL again, Can't wait for the mine Car coaster to open then the walls will be down and it will be perfect.

UGH!

I don't understand people, I really don't. Even if someone DID cut in front of you or you honestly thought they did, what good and useful purpose do comments like that have?

:(

Texas mama bear :goodvibes

NFL will make any of that go away, so beautiful and lots of lovely pictures of Mackie!

I cannot wait to see the bathroom in person.
What an idiot the guy was.
Nice NFL pics. I am the opposite, I am glued to my camera and see it all through the lens. LOL

I know, what do you do? I really tried not to engage other than to apologize at first, but with Mackie looking at me like she did I knew I had to do something. Like I said, not my finest moment, but at least he got the point to shut up.

Just enjoying with your family has it's immediate perks, but when you get home and didn't get as many pics as you feel you should have leaves you going..."What the heck was I doing?!?" :rotfl: I'm convinced that's why I have to take a do over trip, but with just me this time.

You finally made it in but not without the rude Dude first. I have had my share of crazy people lately too at home and I just want to yell have a magical day so maybe now I will. :rotfl2:

You should totally do it!! That or "Have a Super, Sparkly Day! Like they say in that stupid commercial making fun of Disney. :rotfl2: But you have to say it in a super squeaky voice when you do it. Mackie and I do it and crack ourselves up every time.

Looking forward to NFL again, Can't wait for the mine Car coaster to open then the walls will be down and it will be perfect.

I know!! I'm so looking forward to that being open as well. You lucky girl!! You get to go in 8 days!! I hope it's a good trip for you, Pat. You deserve the rest and relaxation this time. :)
