You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

You girls really got your shopping on! :thumbsup2 The Aurora T is very cute - too bad there was no Ariel. I so wanted to check out TendD but with all the rain and all the kiddos, it never happened. I love those Minnie seat belt bags! I saw them at DLR last fall and fell in love! Oh, did I say I love them yet? :rotfl2:

Mmmm, the drink looks delicious! What was it?

We did a little. :goodvibes She was more looking for the shirts than anything. You'll have to go into Trend-D when you go next time. If for nothing else other than to say you've been in there. :thumbsup2 And yes, those purses are really cute, just not for me though. Too heavy. :worried:

Hi there, Millie!
So glad that I stumbled across your trip report! Congratulations on the weight loss, I know it's quite an undertaking. For me it started on November 14, last year. Now I'm at the 70 lb mark.

Anita!! :welcome:

Glad to have you over here!! And thank you, same congrats to you!! I'm impressed! If you don't mind sharing, how are you losing it?

It looks like your trip has started out very nicely with a fun Dis-meet. It's always exciting to share those times with people that share the love! Jen and I have been over to the Mandera Spa twice and loved it both times!!!

Yes, the Dis meet was great, I'm so glad I got to meet another Dis, Sis. :goodvibes I think the thing I love most about our Dis family....we may not all be on the same page when it comes to our views in life, but we are when it comes to WDW!! At the end of it all, we all know we couldn't be so bad since we have a love for something that has true heart. :thumbsup2

Sorry about the passing of your grandfather. It's never easy to go through those situations...

Thank you, Anita. That is very kind of you to say.

Oh and by the way, we were through your part of the world this weekend. Marc and I decided that the Vera Bradley outlet in San Marcos needed me to come shopping. Yep, it was a bit of a drive for some purses and backpacks. :crazy2: And the store was like this. :crowded:

 I can't believe y'all drove the better part of 9 hours to go to the VB outlet!! Hope it was worth it!! Where did y'all end up staying for the night? You have a great hubby who would drive all that way to do that. :thumbsup2 Give me a holler if you ever do that again, I'll meet up with you. :)

great update and pics.

Dismeets are always so much fun

Thank you Scott, I need to get over to your TR again and catch up!! :goodvibes Dismeets are really are fun, especially when it's such a great gal like our Jill. :goodvibes

Michele!! :goodvibes So happy you found time to be over here!! How is the house coming?!? I've thought a lot about you and how it's coming along. Praying all comes out well, let me know if you need anything.

The purses are super cute, but very heavy for a purse. January?!? Yeaaaaaaaaah!!! This makes me soooo happy!! :woohoo:

Lana!! :yay: I'm so honored you came over to read!! Hope all is well in your world. :) WE did have a good time!! I'm starting to get the itch to plan another trip for Oct. 2014, solo trip, or at least without any of my family, I'd be happy to have any of my Dis family members along!!

The shirt you Mackie both picked out is really pretty. I think it's my favorite out of all the shirts she picked, although she did find a pretty Ariel one.

Thank you, Cynthia!! :goodvibes It is a cute shirt. And yes, I believe that is the same drink Ms. Kat gets when she's in DTD. :thumbsup2 It's yummy, but REALLY sweet.

The meet was a great way to start our first day there. I was thrilled to have met someone so sweet and laid back. :goodvibes

Hi!!! The house is coming along great! We need to find each other through Michelle on Facebook. I at least post pictures once a week on there.

Liesel, best of luck. Here's hoping that both you and I will have as successful a result as Camille so that we may BOTH meet up at Disney with our 100# losses. :-) Best of luck to you and congrats on the 7 you have lost. That is a success already on this journey of ours.

Cira,

Thank you so much! Best of luck to YOU too! Any excuse for another trip to DW, right? I'm sure we could twist Camille's arm for a meet up! :)

I'm so proud of your 7 lbs.!! Keep it up girl, and if you ever want someone to workout with or go for walks, just give me a ring!!

Camille- Yes! Finally! I'm glad that I got here before you finished your TR! :) I'm still trying to figure out the workout piece. We had joined a gym, but now that school has started I am finding it hard to find the time to go. Do you do all of your workouts at home? I'm thinking that would be easier if I could just do it at home.

Thanks-Liesel

Thanks-Liesel

I do, I workout from home but started with a reasonably priced trainer. I choose her because she was overweight herself at one point and she does it out of her home. I went to her just to be sure I was learning correctly, and then took it upon myself to do it from home from that point on. I'm actually thinking about going to a gym, but not sure on that just yet.

I will say this....you have to be REALLY honest with yourself and ask yourself if you'll stick with it no matter where you end up choosing. I knew myself well enough to know I wouldn't stick with going to a gym at the start, I didn't want anyone watching me grunting my way to success. :rotfl:

Now that I'm a couple of years into this, I'm starting to wonder if I need to change things up a bit to keep it interesting. I'll more than likely just go back to my trainer, I can do that or a gym, but not both.

What ever you choose, I'm here if you need someone to come along side of you, cheer you on, or just be a sounding board when you need it. :thumbsup2

I just found this trip report and I'm so glad I did. I wish I found it sooner. I too used a Disney trip as motivation to lose weight! I lost 40lbs and I hate to say it but I gained it all back :(. I was so disappointed in myself and felt/feel like a failure. You have inspired me to dust myself off and get back to it!! And that was only after reading the first two pages!!!

Hi there Millie!! I'm so glad to have the pleasure to join in your TR! What an accomplishment!! I started running at 44 years old and lost 33 lbs. I have gained a few of those back - especially after our last WDW trip but I will run again once my ankle heals.

I've read a few updates but I need to go back and read more so I can properly participate!! ;)

To the both of you!!

I'm truly grateful the both of you are here. :goodvibes

If y'all are interested, there's a lot of back story to my weight loss in my PTR, it's all on how I was motivated to start and how I got where I am. :)

Brenda, you look fabulous!! I don't see any weight that needs to be lost on you, girl. I just love all your cute clothes when you're in WDW, you've got great style.
I still can't get over you having a child old enough to be 30. You don't look old enough to have grown kids. :sad2:

Rabb, DO NOT beat yourself up over gaining the weight back. I know that's easier said than done, but I also know how many times I tried to lose in the past and had those thoughts running in my head and how many times I failed with those thoughts swimming around.
You can't be successful if you have negative thoughts, you have to set that aside and tell yourself you do not listen to negative tapes any more, only the positive and moving forward. The only thing you get to concentrate on, is moving forward!! Just like Uncle Walt did. You hear?!? :)

I'll help you out, I too gained a little of the weight back over the summer, and I promise you those old tapes tried to lift their ugly heads, but I know my success is due in large part to me not allowing those negative thoughts be apart of my thinking. Even if I mess up in my eating today, I do NOT allow that to work against me from here on out, only moving forward in my exercise and eating healthy.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!! :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay:

Fun shopping at DTD. I love that Trend store...but feel better if their is a youngster in it with me (I feel so old in there).

You did it! You found my yummy drink and had one. And did you love it? I know it's not in my TR yet, but it will make an appearance.

Looove shopping in DTD. :lovestruc Such great memories there. Tren-D is such a cute store. And yes, I feel better being in there with Mackie. Although, there are some really cute sun dresses and tops that would work for any of us who are young at heart but aren't trying to look too young, if you know what I mean. It's hard to shop for clothes after 40, the clothes are either too frumpy and grandma-ish. Or it's too young looking and then you just look like you are trying too hard if you wear it.

I did! Actually, we did!! It was yummy too! A little too sweet for me, but that's only because I hadn't had much in the way of sugar in a long time. This drink was my first big sugar splurge of the trip! So worth it. Every time I wanted something that wasn't good for me leading up to the trip, (concerning my weight loss) I'd just tell myself I'd be able to splurge when I was in WDW.

Camille,

I wish I had discovered this thread when you first started it; your pm you sent me led me to your TR via the link. Let me say this; WOW, WOW, WOW, and again I say WOW. You have so much to be proud of. What a great testimony of determination in spite of all the obstacles you have faced. I'm sure you have been such a motivation and inspiration to so many here on the DIS as well as those you are around in your day to day activities. I have only spent about 30 minutes reading your thread and in that time I am truly inspired by you. :thumbsup2

I appreciate your pm and will respond to it away from this forum. I will be going to WDW for the first time since I lost my weight this Nov/Dec and will do all I can to make healty choices even though I will be on the DxDP. Getting some tips from you would be a welcome for me.

Goofy-sorry don't know your name , we have a mutual admiration club going on here. I'm so blown away by your accomplishments!! :cheer2:

I'm so happy and honored to have you over here reading, who cares when you got here!! At the beginning, now, it's all good!! :goodvibes

:welcome: party: :welcome:

And to be honest, I've been struggling a bit with my weight over the summer, nothing too big in lbs., but enough to scare me and making me rethink my attitude about all of my success. Which is a good thing!! ::yes::
Your words here have truly helped in that dept., BIG TIME!!!

It takes another who's been down this road to understand what you've been through and to be able to truly understand the struggles it takes to get as far as we've come and stay here. I guess I'm now in the sorta stay here phase, although I still have a bit of weight to go.
If you like what you've read here I strongly urge you to go check out how I got started with my weight loss journey, it's all in my PTR. There's some pretty good stuff there, and more about me as a person and the gang I had along with me on the trip. :)

I'm so excited for you to go on your trip!!! :woohoo: You are going to see and do things through very different lenses. Even eating I hate/love to say. Eating while in the world is not an easy task. But going to two credit dining choices and buffets where you have more fresh/whole food choices helped a bunch!! I did NOT eat totally healthy while I was there. I splurged, but not to the point of stupid, if you know what I mean.
When I came home I got on the scale the next morning and had an 8-9 lb. gain., but I also gain a lot of water weight from flying and from a stupid rash thing I get when I'm in FL., so I was hoping it would help tremendously with dropping a few lbs., in a matter of a day I was down 5 lbs. and in the next two days after that I was down all but 1 lbs., so all in all not too shabby. There is so much salt and sugar in everything, so if I may, I suggest where ever you are eating you ask for the chef to visit you so you can give them and idea of what your dietary needs are. I wish I had thought of this when I went, someone had to suggest it to me and I'm grateful they did.

Next trip I'll be going to some of the signature dining places, talking to chef's and going to more of the buffets where I know I can find fresher choices. The breakfast buffets usually have more fresh choices than any of the other one's, at least that I know of so far. :)

Can't wait to hear back from you!! :goodvibes

Sooo many comments.......
1. Thank you for sharing! I am a fellow Texan and feel like I already know you!

2. I am so sorry for your loss. I love how you talked about your grandfather. I love hearing history from my elders.

3. I call my DS13 doodle bug, but fart blossom might be the best expression of love I have heard.

4. Thank you for the back to school prayers! Mine always needs it.

5. I am proud of your hard work at weight loss. :cool1: I lost 80 and have gained back about 20 that I am slowly taking back off. I have about 100 lbs to go. I am going to borrow your inspiration and Keep moving forward. I had to forgive myself again and have gotten back to it. It really is about what you put in your body. Thanks for sharing your story.

Hey there Robin!! :wave2:

So glad to have you here!! Welcome!! :dance3:

Thank you for your kind words about my grandfather. He had the best stories to share about the war, he was sharp as a tack right up to the end. He drove right up until a few months before he went into the home, which also happened to be a few months before he passed.

I'm so impressed with your weight loss and determination!! What ever you do don't beat yourself up over your weight gain, you'll defeat your progress, but since you know to forgive yourself I have a feeling you already know this. :goodvibes :thumbsup2 And yes, it really does come down to what we put into our mouths. So many people these days don't realize what is in processed foods to make us want and crave to eat more of what we just ate or how certain foods give more energy or take it away. A little research goes such a long way when it comes to the foods we eat.

Keep up the great work, girl!! You can do this!! :cheer2: Maybe we can help one another! :)

Camille, so glad you've met my good friend here on the DIS, Bob (goofy4prez). He is a real sweetheart and I can't wait to meet him in December.

Hi Camille,

"Goofy" fits me well, but my real life away from Disney name is Bob... Wait, WDW is real life. :lmao:

I appreciate the advice you gave and do plan on talking to the chefs at a few of the restaurants. Overall I think I will do fine sticking with some of the fish dishes (but very little butter & no cream sauces) and leaner meats. I have to admit though I do plan to treat myself to some of the awesome deserts. I do figure as long as I stay committed to my early morning runs and all the walking I will do I should come out of this thing just fine.

The one thing I have learned during my weight loss and now maintainance journey is that when I do have one of those oops moments I don't beat myself up over them. Remember, we are in this thing for the long haul and not a relay race. The problem when we fall is not the falling, it's what we do after that; we can chose to stay down or we can get back up again brush ourselves off and get back on track. My life slogan for me is, I can I will!

Feel free to pm me anytime. I hope I can be of support for you and I certainly would appreciate support from you as well.

By the way, I originally posted a before and after of me on your thread but decided to delete it since I didnt' want to hijack your thread. I'm guessing one of these days I will have to post my before and after pics.

Camille, so glad you've met my good friend here on the DIS, Bob (goofy4prez). He is a real sweetheart and I can't wait to meet him in December.

Ahh shucks, and ahh golly. Now you have me blushing. Kathy, the highlight of our upcoming trip will be meeting you and Mark.

BOB!! :cheer2: So glad I know his name, and have him as a new Dis brother!! :goodvibes Sorry Bob, I hope I'm not coming off too stalkerish.

::yes:: For all of us!!

I think if you've made it this far, you have it down pat. I know you'll be just fine. :thumbsup2

Negativity and being hard on myself was a couple of the things I had to make a pact with myself not to do this time around. It's the number one thing I'd do to myself in the past, and then I'd give up.
And you are right, it's the long haul, not just the now. I have to remind myself of this every so often when I do mess up, it's the getting up and moving forward that is key. :rolleyes2
"Keep Moving Forward," was my life slogan through all of this and still is. I don't ignore my downfall, but I also won't allow myself to dwell and camp on it either. I had to go through some of my old posts to remind myself of this today, thank you for helping me get through those nasty waters again, it's been a while since I had to navigate those waters, I forgot how hard they could be to get over them. :headache:

Feel free to pm me anytime. I hope I can be of support for you and I certainly would appreciate support from you as well.

Thank you, Bob!! I will and you most certainly can count on me for support!! :thumbsup2

OMGoodness, I'm so totally open to people hijacking my report!! PLEASE, post away!! As I was reading I was thinking I'd loooove to see a before and after picture of you, and here you are saying you had one on here. Please, if you are comfortable, put it back up!! ::yes:: Right folks?!? I'm seriously excited to see it!!

You got it! I appreciate your kind words! I weighed today and another 2 down!
I loved my first trip to Disney many pounds down. For me, it started with not having to use a seatbelt extender on the plane and ended with being able to hop right out of space mountain (still hate it, but I rode it).

Can't wait to hear how your experience was....

Ok Camille here you go. Now let me warn you, I may have been able to shrink in size but there was not a whole lot I could do about the looks department. :rotfl:

I will show you three pictures; the first of me being big, the second at my heaviest point, and then at my goal weight. (sorry don't know how to resize pictures)

This is August 2008 and our first time ever at WDW. My DW, DD(then 10 and now 3 weeks away from her sweet 16) and me... No, I'm not the big "Goofy" guy in the middle, I'm the other "goofy guy." I would say I was about 240 Lbs at this point.

DisneyWorldAtlantis112.jpg
[/IMG]

This is me at my heaviest point and weighing 267 Lbs. It was taken when we were in D.C. and I can tell you how miserable I was trying to walk around all day. It was almost as bad as getting into one of the cars on Space Mountain. In just one month from this picture my 45 year old brother died of a sudden and massive heart attack and two weeks later my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical & ovarian cancer (now in remission). It was the motivating factor that woke me up and the most difficult period in my life.
168885_3355925218519_1487931029_n.jpg
[/IMG]

And finally me hitting my goal weight of 162 Lbs in June 2012. Not by plan, but with my activity level I continued to lose 10 more pounds until I reached 152 Lbs (been as low as 150). And this is what I still weigh today.

So there you have it. I completely hijacked your thread. But you told me too. :lmao:
