Wow the buyers are out in full force the past few days! Most of my clothing has bids on it and out of the 15 video games I listed, 7 sold at Buy it Now! I've already made over $100 and I have $90 in bids going.

Sorry.. Changed the wording again.. I'm new to this and appreciate your tips.. I put the echeck note on there but guess I should have just left it off since its a way of payment thru paypal, but paypal thru any method is accepted. Hope I have it right now.

Please don't think we're picking on you bettyann we're just trying to help! I think I noticed another problem, maybe someone else will know for sure, but...
I'm pretty sure you can't insure tickets through the USPS. I sold Hersheypark tickets before and our postman told me that they are only paper and therefore have no insurable value. You would definitely want delivery confirmation, and I'm not sure what it's called, but you want someone to have to sign for it so that you have more than just the postal carrier saying it was put into their mailbox. You want to have their signature showing that they did indeed get the envelope. I'm sure someone here can refresh my memory as to what they call that!

No I dont have a business account, so I guess I can only take echecks then?? I dont really understand paypal too much myself either. I've used them several times for other stuff Ive bought and I usually pay with my checking account..

If USPS doesnt insure them then can you tell me what a fair price for shipping would be?? I definitely want to send it certified so that I get a signature though as you say.

I really appreciate you guys and hope Im not bothering you too much.. You guys are really pros at this and hoping that I can eventually get that way too..

Sure!

In Sparedollar, go to your SDcounter tab, then on the menu on the left, select "Counter Setup". This screen will tell you what your current IP address appears to be, and has a field in which you can insert it. Reminds me of the Blocked Bidder list on eBay! I have my home & work IP addresses both entered there.

OK, I have a confession to make, and I am 50/50 embarrassed and amused... I live in a rural area where garbage collection is not part of local services, so we "go to the dump". Actually, my DS19 does it almost all the time. A few weeks ago I went with him... most dumps have a "Treasure House", "Swap Shop", or some other such place where you leave things that are too good to throw away... and if you find something you want, you just take it. Well, it's been at least 2 months since the last Yard Sale I found up here in NH....I confess, I was in withdrawal... I took some things out of my dump's Treasure House, and listed them on eBay!!!

And now one of them has a bid!!!! A second item is being watched by multiple bidders. I listed them as part of the SD98 promotion, and it seems like it will be fairly effective. The amazing part is that I started some items for .98 that were worth alot more (IMO), and here they sit bidless while the astrology book from the dump is going to sell!! Go figure.

So, if you have something you think nobody would want, and you're tempted to throw it away, try listing it first!

I was making a quick run to the store one night when out of the corner of my eye I saw a light fixture sitting on top of someones trash by the side of the road in my neighborhood. I braked real fast, backed up, and looked again. It was a beautiful OLD light fixture! I got out of my SUV and snagged that baby! Someone was out walking thier dog and gave me a funny look! I brought it home and my Dad asked me where I got that and I told him. He said "My daughter the dumpster diver, I'm so proud."LOL I didn't care. That light fixture sold for $43 and now he's been eyeing the trash on the side of the road for me!LOL

I'm not having as much luck with my Disney stuff as I'd hoped...I wish I'd had a digital camera before Christmas. But I have made close to $60 so far.

I have a question for you Disney fans...What do you say if someone asks for original packaging of a figurine you are certain didn't have packaging when you bought it at the Disney store years ago. Remember when the Disney stores used to sell the same loose ceramic figurines that they sell in the parks? I have a person insisting that Hades from Hercules came with a box and I know he didn't. I don't want to come off as pushy, but I want to tell her that there was no original box, aside from the generic Dsiney store box they put it in.

What to do?

HAHAHA. My brother & I used to go for a walk around our neighborhood a couple of times a week when we both lived at home. It was our special sibling time and we always had great talks and fun when we were out. Occasionally walk night fell on trash night and my brother would occasionally come across really valuable antiques in people's trash. Once he grabbed this old barstool that turned out to be easily fixed up and we sold it to an antique shop for $200! $200 was a REALLY big deal when you're 15!

(heck, $200 is a big deal when you're 27!)

You've done all you can do which is tell her you don't have a box. I've found that very few that email with questions actually bid...some do, though. Or is it someone who's already bought the Hades and she's disappointed it didn't come to her in a box? If that's the case, just tell her you didn't advertise it as "New in Box." Whichever the case may be, I wouldn't even reply to any more of her emails if you've already told her that you don't have the box...if there ever was one.

(In my sweetest southern accent) I was a child bride. Literally. I'm 45, my DD is 30. If there are any teens reading this, BEWARE OF THE BOY NEXT DOOR!LOL Looking back though, I don't think I would change a thing. I was too young and dumb to know how hard of a time I was having and now I'm young enough to still enjoy my grandchildren! This is why I went for DVC. I'm still young enough to enjoy it for a while with them.

I don't know about the Powerpoint thing. I have it on my computer and have played with it some but that's about it. Are there any others selling Powerpoint services on eBay? It doesn't seem like it would cost much to try it out and see, except for your time....I'd say go for it.

I've got my own eBay room now! My brother came over today and helped me clean out one of the spare bedrooms and move all my "eBay stuff" and computer downstairs. I was working out of my bedroom. It got to where I had a little path to my bed and that's all of the floorspace I had. I can even put my shoes in my closet again. I'm sooo happy!

I'm going to fix up one area with a table for packing stuff and I'm hoping to fix up some shelves and an area to take photos as well. Right now, I've got a room with my computer set up and a bunch of boxes in the floor. But I'm making progress!

Well, all of my preChristmas auctions went well and now we are gearing up for non-gift type stuff.

Specifically we are going to sell our China which we never use and I never really liked. But it is making me nervous. I have no idea what to start it at because I can't find any of that pattern that has sold previously and I don't think you can get it in regular stores any more. Plus, shipping is making me very nervous. I don't want it to break, but I don't want to lose all of my profits on shipping materials either. Any of you sold china and can offer me advice?

Good news is my DH got a Playstation 2 for Christmas so he sold the PS 1 that I got last year on a major clearance and it sold--finished today--for $17 more than I bought it for! And they got to play with it for the last year. Yay!
