Some dresses with only a couple of hours left are only getting bids for 4.00. Then some other dresses that look comparable are getting 30.00. I paid on average about 50.00-70.00 for each.

Have you looked at completed auctions? If so, look at when the auctions ended.....Sunday evening versus maybe Tuesday morning for example. Not all Sunday evening auctions go higher but for an item I sold that was NWT I did notice that the auctions that had ended late Sunday evening brought in about $5 more than the auctions that ended on different days of the week.

Some people list daily and have great sales but I prefer listing on Sunday evenings. Ebay Calendar

Just out of curiousity, who doesn't accept paypal and why? [/B]

I accept PayPal, but I don't accept credit cards through them. I do give my buyers the option of www.c2it.com or BidPay if the want to use a credit card, that way the onus of paying for the transaction is on them. I don't accept the credit cards, because I just can't afford the fees. I could be wrong, but I honestly don't think it has hurt my auction sales that much. I do have to deny a payment at least once a week, though, because someone has tried to use CC through PayPal.

I sold a pair of shorts in late August and over labor day weekend the buyer finally told me MO was on the way. I still haven't gotten it. I emailed him this weekend and didn't hear back so I filed a NPB.

He emailed me yesterday asking if I'd gotten payment yet and I told him no, I'd filed a NPB b/c I didn't hear back. Well he sounds really sad and said to look at his feedback which is all pos except one neg for a similar situation to this (no comm, no payment).

He even says he has a copy of the MO for trace but not sure what good that is?? What do I do? Obviously I need to get paid but not sure how to handle this since he's claiming he has paid.

Since I sell some heavy items, I purchased a 30lb postal scale off eBay from a really funny guy who specializes in postal scales. He starts his auctions at .99 but they rarely sell for less than $30. I did a BIN for a silver electronic scale with an ac adapter for $35 and have been thrilled with it. I don't know how I did without it! Let me know if you want his eBay name. [/B]

Robin, I have a feeling we bought our scales from the same person! In his feedback, did he mention Greased Lightning! LOL I love this scale too! I'm not losing money on shipping anymore and thats a great thing! Sandy

Everyone has their preference when it comes to scales. It also depends on what you sell the most of and if they weigh more than 5 lbs. Some scales, like the first one I bought, go only as high as 5 lbs. Since I sell some heavy items, I purchased a 30lb postal scale off eBay from a really funny guy who specializes in postal scales. For very small items you can use a diet scale or you can weigh yourself then weigh yourself and the item for much cheaper ways to weigh.

Hope that helps! :teeth:

I think a 30 pound scale would be good because I deal with books alot. If you could, could you direct me to that seller. Thanks so much!!

Hi gang, Long story, short. After many emails with no response from the winning bidder I filed a NPB alert. Soon after, I recieve an e-mail from her telling me not to go through e-bay, that she will pay my FVFC. Her feedback total is 3, 2 of which are negatives. I feel bad now. What should I tell her. The winning bid was 51.00. I know the FVF isn't that much. But do I continue with e-bay or not. This was the first email I received from her ever. In one of my emails I told her that if she needs extra days to send payment, just let me know, that I understand things in life happen, but she never responded. Now I feel like a rotten person if I proceed with this.

Hi everyone, just a quick question...

Has anyone ever shipped a canvas? I haven't had to deal with this until now, and have no idea how to go about it. Where the heck do you find boxes for something like that?

I sure would appreceiate any input!

Good luck! :)
Robin

BY the way, I got my shipping scale, a 30# battery operated inexpensive one. I've gotta say, I'm SOOOO glad I got one. If you're serious about ebay, really consider this, it helps SO MUCH!!

:):):)

that she will pay my FVFC

So she only offered to pay your final fees..not pay for the item? I would collect it back from eBay..she'll be naru'd prob, and won't be able to do this to others.
Then I would do a second chance offer to the next highest bidder.

I would tell her sorry, but I (you) follow ebay guidelines and that to stop the NPB she needs to pay for the item within 10 days (the time frame between filing the NPB and being able to get your FVF refunded.

Why do you feel bad and like a rotten person?? She is the one who hasn't paid you nor emailed you regarding this. It is not your fault.

Is there a way to leave more then one follow up comment? As I posted a couple days ago someone neg'd me saying I didn't send invoice etc but it turned out their email address in their ebay account was wrong. I have already replied that I follow ebay guidelines etc... but I want to add the info about the email being wrong is there a way to add a second follow up? or can you only leave one per comment?

Another question :)

A seller just asked me a question, and I'm curious how to check THEIR feedback? I only have their ebay name...is there a way to do that? Thanks!

Just click on the number after their name. That gives you their feedback page. If you mean feedback they have left for others, just look, when you are on that page, under the box on the right hand side, it has a link for feedback left for others...

Oh, and I believe you can search by bidder, but I'm not sure...

help, help, help!!!!

I am very new to selling on e-bay and have just sold my first few items. I downloaded the shipping assistant for labels for priority mail. However, I have read that you not only can print your labels online, but also pay. Does anyone do this? Is it done through this shipping assistant program or do you have to do it on the usps site? I printed a lable from the shiping assistant but it did not seem to have postage with it. I am very confused about how to do this, but would love to do it if possible. I have two young children and so standing in line at the post office is not at the top of my list of fun things to do. Actually it's one of the things that has held me back from doing this before. Hopefully I can find a way around it:) Thanks for your help!

Well, I was putting some disney collectibles in Turbolister last night when Hurricane Isabel swept thru our area. Out goes the power. It is still off at home. Hopefully my info is still in Turbolister. I would hate to have to do that all over again!!

To anyone else in the path of the storm--hope you are all okay!!

Mommy Poppins- You made it here, so I guess you're ok ;). Our power has been off since 4am. I made it to work without any problems, but there are scattered outages. Other than the wind, no serious problems in my nexk of the woods. Here's hoping that you're items are still in TL. I haven't tried it, so I can't answer whether they'll be there or not.

I actually sold an item last night! I figured I would as the buyer emailed me a couple of times with ??.

Have you ever had a buyer ask your reserve price? Did you tell them?

When I first started bidding on ebay, I used to go to their discussion boards alot, I still do. On one of the boards there the discussion was about asking a seller what their reserve price is and it was perfectly ok to do it. Well, I did. I emailed the seller and asked her. She replied VERY VERY nasty, that she has no intentions of telling me or anyone else what her reserve price was and if I'm that interested in her item to just bid on it and wait and see. WELL, I replied back that I was sorry, and explained to her that I read on the discussion boards it was ok to do it. The next day or 2 she replied that she indeed was wrong to be so nasty, and she went to the discussion board herself to find the posting. She found it, and said she was sorry, and then told me her reserve price. Needless to say, that her nastiness stopped me from bidding on any of her items. So in my opinion if some one asks for the reserve price and you don't want to tell them, just be friendly. Two weeks ago, someone emailed me asking what my reserve price for an item was and I told them. Its not that big of a deal to me. Anyway, she then asked me if I can end the auction early and she would pay my reserve. I said no (nicely) and she bid. Luckily I didn't end early because it went for 23.00 above. Gosh, I'm babbling......But anyway, I'm a newbie seller but get the feelling that asking what the reserve price for an item is a touchy subject with some sellers....

Intenseblue 98 (Kris) - yep we're okay. Our power went out about 8:30 last nite and is still out. We're expecting to be the last on the list to get fixed so are figuring Saturday or Sunday sometime. We didn't have a lot of damage--branches, etc., and lots of stuff floating in our pool that we have no idea where it came from!! If no one claims it, they may end up as ebay items!!

Although I don't particularly care for reserve prices (I sometimes feel it's a game..but I understand people don't want to scare off others with a high price right off the bat), I want to sell my item. If I have a reserve price, I'll be happy to tell you what it is. You don't have to keep playing and seeing if you hit..I'm more likely to sell it to you if you know it (you'll go ahead and bid the reserve if you want the item and not have to keep watching it). IMO of course.

I have a lot of 25 cds up for sale and got an email from someone in Lancashire UK wanting to know the shipping cost. They also wanted to know if I would be able to ship it without the jewel cases. I'm not sure I will ship them without the jewel cases, I'm wondering how I would package the cds. Also, I've tried to figure out the shipping, but I'm still not sure how. Thanks in advance for any opinions/help :D
