What do I do. Should I email her and tell her or wait until

e-mail her..and let her know it's sitting there..did she insure it? If not, they should have just left it. Be sure to let her know if she doesn't pick it up (and express that you have no idea why they didn't leave it) and it's returned to you, she would have to resend the shipping for you to reship it...and that you would hold it til she did. All said very nicely of course LOL!

Well, Folks, I am discouraged. This is the worst week in my short history of Ebay'ing. I listed several items to end this afternoon and I didn't sell a single thing. They all ended without bids. I don't think my items were priced to high and the s/h was well within reason. I guess I just didn't have anything anybody wanted this week. I'm thinking of taking the rest of June and all of July off or should I just keep plugging away?

Susan

Kay--on my 17 inch screen, set at 1024X768 pixels, it all displays on one line.
I suspect what's happening is that it breaks according to how much space there on the screen as the browser processes it. You don't have a natural break due to the dashes surrounded by the 2 words, so it breaks mid word. If you could put spaces before and after the dashes, or use a colon and lose the dashes, you'd probably (but not certainly) see a normal break at the end of the word

Don't be discouraged..it seems whenever they have anything free or discounted in the ways of fees, there is too much to choose from..and our sales go down. I have also traditionally slowed down this time of year, into August, for buying and selling, with just certain items that sell year around going up (if you sell kids clothes appropriate for back to school or winter, ignore the August part..that's a great time to sell that stuff). My "regular" items will only have the very best sellers up, based on past performance, and they won't do as well as the other months. If you are selling collectables, or items people actually need, they will most likely sell no matter the time of year..but certain things do better in the colder months when people are inside more IMO. When I list next week it will just be some general housecleaning (although I have a few goodies to put up also)..mostly stuff I just want to go, and I'm not concerned with prices, since I'm just saving the landfill LOL.
I'm spending my down time getting new aucitons written up and ready...and off camping of course LOL.

Kay..I see the entire thing on my screen as you meant it (if I show ebay on a full screen on my 19" monitor)..but to avoid having that happen, next time make sure you have a space somewhere, so it can break naturally. If you didn't have the hypenation after books..or if you had a space on either side, the break would have not been in the middle of a word, I think. I would also leave out the comma's..so the same thing doesn't happen, if it bothers you. It comes up in searches, which is good..it doens't always when there is hypenation...so that's good.

Well - our little dog died this afternoon and I had the unpleasant task of burying him.. He had seemed to make a major comeback on Monday, but the day before yesterday he started to go downhill again.. He died in my arms - not in the vet's office (which he was terrified of) - so at least he was where he felt comfortable..

I've been trying to get some listings up - to keep my mind occupied.. I'm probably not thinking all that clearly - and listing things too low or too high - but I've got to keep busy..

For anyone who had a bad week - try relisting again.. Could just be your target audience wasn't on-line and will be this week.. I always have good luck with relisting..

Keep in mind that the weekend after next is 4th of July weekend so activity may be slow on eBay.. I think I'll probably run auctions that end just before the holiday weekend..

C.Ann,

Sorry for the loss of your dear friend. At least you didn't have to make that final decision. Just remember how much all of us appreciate all your help and advice and good luck on your listings. I'm sure you'll do well.

Martha

C.Ann, I'm so sorry to read this! I was so hoping he'd be okay...

I know the pain of losing a pet. It is so hard. God bless you, honey.

You take care of you now.

My heart is breaking for you, C.Ann. We have had our dog not even a year yet and she has become such an important part of our family......I know this time is very hard for you! Just know all your students are praying for you and your family!!

Occupy your mind with some awesome listings and keep focused on filling up all those envelopes with cold, hard cash for your December trip!!! It will be here before you know it and you can have a toast to your dear departed friend by the castle with the mouse looking on!!!

Hi Everyone-

I'm new here but not new to Disney;-) First of all, thanks to you all for a wonderful thread. I have learned alot but mostly got a god dose of motivation! I've ebayed here and there but never with any regularity. And I always just throw the money into the checking account and it gets used for whatever. Not anymore! I am officially saving all my money for Disney. C Ann I love your envelope ideas and I started my own tonight. I am going to use all Ebay $$ to fund them. We are new DVC members and live in Florida so we can take trips to Disney without a ton of funds but these will be a big help. We are staying offsite over 4th of July and I am going to get going these next two weeks to get some $$. I posted 11 items on ebay tonight so cross your fingers...two already have bids! Thanks again and lets keep this thread alive...how are everyone else's sales doing??

Kelly

I'm excited.

Have just listed some books and CD's on Amazon. We'll see if they'll sell. Haven't tried ebay yet. I'm not sure if my junk will sell or not. Still figuring out the listing process.

C.Ann,
I just wanted to offer my sympathies. I lost my own "baby" 3 years ago. He was 17. As hard as it was to accept, I knew it was his time to go. I still miss him very much but the pain of his loss has become easier to deal with as time has passed.

If you have time, pick up a copy of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul. There is a whole section devoted to the subject of grieving for our friends. It can be helpful in your time of loss.

My prayers are with you and your family. Take care of yourself and them.

I'm sorry I couldn't post my thanks yesterday but thought while I was here I would edit my profile with my new e-mail addy and all heck broke out. Finally a nice DIS administrator had to activate my account mannually so now I can post again.
It never occured to me about the breaks between words and I may even try to edit it this afternoon to see if it makes a difference. I appreciate the help and advice and hope all your auctions are doing well.
We vacation at the beach and I'm saving to rent a boat for half a day. Believe it or not, it comes to about $200 by the time you pay for gas!

--------------------------

We have a summer place at a large lake and my son-in-law has not only a boat, but TWO jet ski's - and I don't even want to TELL you how much he spends every weekend just in gas alone!!

Me?? I'd be spending that money on trips to Disney - LOL.. But you know what they say - "The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys!!!!!" Yikes!!!!!!!!!!

Well my buyer did receive her package. She responded to my email (thanks DMrick). She got it last Saturday but P.O. still shows it being undelivered - somebody goofed. I am still glad I used DC and will continue to use it on future shipments.

I now have bids on 6 out of 9 auctions but only 1 bid each. I'm really motivated now because my brother and his family are going to WDW next summer and I want to be able to take my family and meet them there!!! It will be tough since we have one starting college in the fall.

C.Ann - I am so sorry for the loss of your pet. We had our dog for 15 years and had to make the painful decision to put him down. At least you know it was time - I know it doesn't make it any easier though.

If you paid for your DC (not the free e-DC) and it shows as undelivered, but the party rec'd it..you can get your money back. Just a "For Your infomation" public service announcement LOL

C.Ann,

My condolences on your dear doggy's passing... That is so hard, but at least he was home with you at the end.

On to some good news...
FINAL AUCTION RESULTS:

My last 5 listings ended last night.
30 items listed over a 10-day period, all ended 6/19, 6/21 & 6/22;
23 items sold;
earned 238.42 gross (not including postage or fees)
listing fees: 36.48 (including final value fees)
got $20-worth of free postage and free scale from stamps.com
Learned a TON of new info from this thread, and feel very encouraged about future listings.
I've heard from all bidders except one, and hope she'll reply to my reminder soon. Half of the auctions are already paid via PayPal, the other half coming in MO's.
Using the PayPal Debit card to pay for several meals while at VWL, so will earn some cash back, too.
For a fairly last-minute endeavor, I am very pleased at having an extra $200 to spend next week! :D :teeth: :sunny: :smooth:

So, now we get ready for our vacation to FL... leaving Friday the 27th. I hope to be back on ebay and this board by 7/8 or 7/9. Good luck all of you, and have a great 4th!:D :teeth: :sunny: :smooth:

That's great!!!! Now..... Far be it from me to "encourage" you to spend extra money on your trip but............You might want to check out what Disney items are currently selling well on eBay, what people are willing to pay, and..........head on over to the Disney Outlet stores while you're there???????;)

Just a thought.... LOL

Mrs Snowgod..good for you..sounds like your venture was a profitable one!! CAnn's right..the Outlets have such great bargains..be sure if you check out their "clearance" area..they had wonderful Christmas stuff (still being sold for high prices at the Christmas shop in DTD) and some wonderful mugs at real discoutns. I've seen all on eBay and know the people made great money reselling the items.
Have a great trip!

Oooh, what a great idea! I have never been to the Disney outlets, though I've heard of them - where are they?

Thanks for the terrific suggestion! I already have a Christmas Box of items I'll save to list in November, so if the price is right, it would be great to add more to that inventory.

I did have some other ideas on things I'd wished I'd bought more of last winter at WDW, and couldn't find on ebay, either. I was going to shop the DTD World of Disney for the 10% DC discount there... this could be VERY lucrative! Yippee!

Thanks again!
