Wow! That was really interesting! Is there a page that lists ALL the companies that have problems with the things you sell - and links to read their guidelines??

Thanks for the answer to my question.. Guess I'll just have to try to figure out where it will get the most hits..;)

Hi everyone - I have a question for you all... I've got some old records to sell, but I'm trying to figure out how to ship them. I would be selling them individually and they're the big ones (33's? I think?). I looked at quillcorp.com to try and find some sort of box or packaging, but came up empty. None of the priority mail boxes I have currently (sizes 4, 7, 1092's) fit.

Anyone have any suggestions? And how to package them so they don't break?

TIA,
Lori

Guess measurements would help, huh? :) They're 12.5" square.

Thanks!

Lori, Check out www.bubblefast.com and scroll down to the almost the bottom of the page. They have LP mailers. HTH!

Also, wanted to let everyone know how pleased I am with Quill's customer service. I placed an order yesterday and they called me to welcome me, and let me know that part of my order would not be shipped for 11 days. Today, I got the bubble envies, after placing the order yesterday!!! WOW!!! Didn't get my welcome package and free stuff yet, but I'm sure I will in a few days.

Ok, so those are a bit pricey ($1.20/mailer once you add shipping and I don't need 25, more like 5-10) so I did a google search and look what I came up with...

http://www.angelfire.com/fl5/roadhouse/mailing.html

Though if anyone needs 25, this place seems cheaper than bubblefast.com
http://www.cameronpackaging.com/LPalbum.html

(It works out to a little less than $1/mailer with shipping - though I've never bought from them and have no idea what their customer service is like)

HTH someone else!

All these links are great! So helpful to all of us here..

How about tissue paper - any super deals? I wrap EVERYTHING in tissue paper and right now I'm buying it in Big Lots - 40 sheets for 99 cents.. Anyone doing better than that?

Finally got a few things listed a little while ago but I have SOOOOO many more to go! Took a bunch of photos yesterday and probably should take more tonight..

Everyone else busy getting ready to list too?

C.Ann:

I use tissue paper for everything too and unless someone knows how to get it cheaper. The best place to buy it is off e-Bay.

I priced all the shipping supply and gift wrap companies and have found that with shipping no one can beat e-Bay Sellers!

Just do a search and you'll find lots to choose from.

There is a Seller right now who has this auction up:

800 Sheets Plain White Tissue Paper, 20 X 15
Buy It Now for US $8.00 (approx shipping UPS $7.24) you can figure out how much shipping will be to you by typing in your zip on the auction page.

I never use tissue paper..but I do throw out the paper that comes with the left over supplies that the gift shop on the corner gives me with all her supplies. She also has a lot of leftover brown wrapping (soft). I really suggest you guys check out Christian book stores, gift shops, Tuesday shops in your area...mine is thrilled to not have to deal with it. I don't know if I'm ever going to have to ever buy some of this stuff again. I now make up bags of what I don't use for my brother and sister to use, since I don't want to turn any packaging down.

DMRick:

I tried that with the 2 dollar stores in our area and they just looked at me like I was a wacko! I gave them my business card anyway and asked if they would have their manager call, but never heard back. I keep telling myself that I'll try harder and look for more places that might have the supplies I need, but never seem to have the time!

It's definately a money saver though and one day......

Carol Ann--
I get big packages of newsprint sheets from Staples, which are cheaper than tissue paper and work, except for fragile items.

It'd probably be even cheaper to go to the newspaper office and get butt ends of newsprint

I used to buy bundles of unprinted newsprint from the newspaper office for my shipping store. I can't remember how much it was - but it was cheap.

I have a set of very very old japanese warrior dolls but I have no idea what they are worth or how to find out....any ideas? I would like to know BEFORE I listed them and I have done a search but can't find anything similar.

HELP!

I didn't have any luck at the dollar store either..but I sure did at the gift shop..and it's on my corner which makes it really easy. I just wish she didn't have so many of those air pockets LOL. I"ll prob be selling peanuts on eBay in the Fall LOL.

I'm a little upset about something I discovered this morning. I listed a brand new Winnie the Pooh book/cd/cassette for $4.95 that retails for about $15 on eBay a couple of days ago. I went to see my listing this morning thinking it likely I got a hit, but I can barely even recognize my listing! It says Disney's Pooh Collection boo then next line ks...etc. Boo ks! What's that, right? Am I being petty? I'm not very experienced and feel intimidated by the comments I've heard about the difficulty in dealing with the eBay people. Would one of you more experienced eBayers look at it and give me some advice? I'd give a link but don't know how. You can find it by searching for Disney's Pooh Collection. Thanks so much for any advice you can give.

Kay, I think I found your listing. Your ebay ID has Kay in it too right?

Anyways, it looks okay on my screen. It has DISNEY POOH COLLECTION on the first line and Books/CD/Cassette on the second line.

Kay - I saw the breakup of boo ks like you did, but once you click on it, it's fine. You could revise the listing if it really bugs you. :D Anyone searching for Pooh books would still find your listing, though. Hope that helps!

HELP - I didn't get an answer before so I'll ask again. My first package that went out - with Delivery Confirmation - shows that delivery was attempted on Sat. 6/14. The person still hasn't picked up the package. What do I do. Should I email her and tell her or wait until she emails me. She never responded another email I sent.

What do I do if the package is returned to me. I don't want to get negative feedback on this - I did everything I was supposed to do.

Thanks, Cindy
