I would not appreciate bidding on a seller's auctions and getting ripped off when I DO check feedback and if other sellers/bidders would have left feedback I would have avoided bidding or selling to that person in the first place.
But it means nothing. One person may give feedback because they didn't get their item in 5 days..or they didn't get payment in 10 days. You are only reading what a angry person who may have high expectations writes. I know someone just posted on an eBay board, how mad she was about her item not arriving within a certain amount of time (the rule is actually 30 days..and it arrived in 26). She posted how this guy had a "bunch" of neutrals because of the same thing. She posted his addy, so we could all agree with her. The guy had a lot of feedback (I think about 600), and 4 neutrals for slow ship (one neg). She wanted to know how to word her neg. Why would he earn a neg or nuetral for that?
Another person bid on an auction knowing the price of shipping. She didn't like it, but she bid anyway. Then she gives the guy a neg for high shipping prices (oh..and he wouldn't combine shipping..so she bid on several of his items and negged him for that too..even though he sure doesn't have to combine). Now he has six glaring red unearned IMO feedbacks. If she hadn't showed us the auction, where the feedback is stated, if I had gone to his feedback, I would have thought he cheated her. Instead, she knew what it was in advacne, and still bid. So feedback is so subjective..based on the person writing it's mood.
We will never agree on this (and this part of ebaying prob belongs on the debate board)...it's been argued on the eBay boards for years..and interestingly enough..I see more people who have just gotten started (as I did) think they should do their "civic duty" and leave bad feedback..a lot of the oldsters, just report it..and if the person gets suspended, and starts up a new name, eBay when they find out, will suspend them again (althought it's not that easy anymore, since ebay cross checks addy's and ISP's now).
