The postmark on the envelope from Germany was 18 days after the auction ended. It actually only took 7 days to arrive, had he answered any of my three emails, I wouldn't have relisted the item

If he just didn't mail it and admits it, that's different. However, the postmark would be once it goes through apo..the postmark may not be when he mailed it..sometimes the postmark is up to 10 days after it was apo'd.

It sounds like all is well, and he is getting back his cash, your happy (cause you resold it), he's happy (he's getting back his cash), that's all that matters.

Hopefully someone can help me!!

After taking some months off from ebaying, I returned the end of November. Any payments I received from Paypal from buyers I was quick to sweep into my bank checking account.

Today I went to the ATM to withdraw the money with my debit card, and it says the balance is zero!! Of course it is Sunday and no one is at the bank. I went to Paypal and printed out all of my bank transfers, and even tried to log on to my bank on line, but the same error message keeps coming up. Invalid transaction or account.

Is it possible that since I haven't used the ATM card in over 6 months that the bank froze it or something? I'm going crazy trying to figure out what happened to the money. How likely is it that someone stole it out of my bank account? I have never used the online service of the bank at all, and I never gave my pin to anyone or ever wrote it down!!

Can anyone offer an explanation???? Thanks!!

cindala, I'm sorry I can't help, but I sure hope everything is okay!

Okay - take adeep breath - and let's go through this one step at a time.. Some of my suggestions may sound silly, but remember that you are in a state of panic and some of these things may not have occurred to you - okay?

First of all - can you gain access to your account on-line?

If you can - and you are getting an error message, there are a few things you should consider.. If you have never used this option before you may have to "register" first.. Look around the home page and see if it says anything about that..

Do you have more than one account at this bank? If so, try to check the other and see if you get the same message..

Do you have more than one debit card? Perhaps in your excitement you are entering the wrong numbers - you simply have them mixed up..

Befor entering numbers, are you waiting for the page to load COMPLETELY? Mine will come back with an error if I don't..

When was your last transfer FROM Paypal TO your bank account? It can take as long as 7 days..

Are you SURE you're using the right pin number for the right account?

Some banks have a 24-hour line.. Check to see if yours does..

Call Paypal (available 24/7) and ask if they had any trouble with your last transfer..

And please get back to us and let us know what's happening!

Cindala I think if you owe ebay any listing fee's, etc. and you don't pay them, they automatically take it out of your account thats hooked up with them. Check your ebay account page, maybe you owed them some money without realizing it and they took what they were owed. They did that to me. I was short 20 some odd dollars in my checking account. When I went to check on my ebay account page the amount that they deducted was the same amount that I was short in my checking account. Just a thought that you may want to look into.

Hi everyone. im new to ebay. I sold a few items. One of the buyers emailed me tonight & said that her transaction still shows that its not paid. I put the amount on her visa thru my merchant account @ my shop. Do I need to post the payment somewhere on ebay?? thanks

Cindala - try the above mentioned suggestions - but just relax. Often times, the banks will use the lowest volume times to update computer systems. Also, there are times during the day when the ATM systems pull info. I know on Sunday a.m.'s for about 20 minutes I cannot withdraw from an ATM. Normally our processors set our down-times for 1 to 5 a.m. on Sunday mornings as that is the lowest volume time for access, but it can vary if need arises.

Also - got one of the last 2 payments this weekend along with an apology. So only the one that did not pay. Off to file a NPB alert.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Last night I called my bank's ATM department and left them a message about the problem. Then I tried logging in to my account over the phone using my SS# and PIN #. An error message kept coming up that it was with the wrong PIN or the wrong SS#.

My bank called me this morning at 8:10am before I left for work, and confirmed that the money is in the account! Thanks God!! Either there was an error in the ATM machine I used, or I put in the wrong PIN #. I'm 99% sure I'm using the correct PIN, but the bank doesn't have any record of it anyway, so I have to reapply for a new Debit card if I can't figure it out or maybe try a different ATM machine. In the meantime to get the money out, I'll have to write a check I guess!

This was one scarey episode, and hopefully it won't happen again. Thanks to everyone for your replies. :wizard:

Although Ebay does not seem to have this feature, if you have paypal you can edit the payment status yourself to indicate that the person has paid you. This does nothing towards any kind of 'accounting', but rather just keeps it straight for you when you look at that page to figure out who has paid you and who has not.

Cindala,

Please let us know what happens and how you figure it out. I am sure you are right on it this morning with the bank. I hope it turns out to be something as simple as registering online and/or needing a different pin. I am constantly forgetting the one that I set up just for ebay because I use it so infrequently.

GOOD LUCK!

Can anyone offer advice or tips on using private auctions?

Kris..what type of advice are you looking for? I've never understood the reason for them, since all you have to do is look up the seller, and it's pretty easy to figure out what they sell LOL! I know some people request a private auction, because they don't want someone to know if they are buying them a gift..but when I see private in someone's feedback, I figure they bought an "adult" video, or something of the like.

Just a note on delivery confirmation--it is free if you go to the usps site to make your shipping label. Works like a charm.
A USPS counter person told me about it when I was shipping out some items.
My brother, a mailman, adv to put a piece of tape over the bottom of the barcode/numbers. He said even though it tells you not to sometimes the code is blurred and cannot be scanned.

I bought a Disney pin from someone who was using the private auctions. I think part of the reason for this, atleast in the world of Disney pins, is so someone, off ebay, can't e-mail you and try to sell you thier Disney pins, etc... I have had this happen. But apparently not as much as others.

This is a question that i'm sure has been asked before, but i haven't had luck finding the answer - how can i download pin pictures from Pinpics to add to my pin ad on eBay? All those " i must have them" pins now need a new home and i am ready to begin, but not having the "computer smarts" to download the picture is hindering my efforts. Thanks to anyone who can help out. I love this thread- if only i could keep up with it! Caroline:wave:

I believe you are allowed to link to them as long as you give credit to them in your auction. Meaning saying something like "Picture thanks to PinPics.com"

Yes, i have heard the same thing, but how do i "link" to it or download the pictures? I did ask others who have used Pinpics and their responses were similar. Easy directions for a computer "illiterate" are appreciated. Thanks.

Generally, to save a picture from the web you would use your right mouse click. This will bring you to a variety of choices out of which you will select 'save picture as'. This will bring up a box asking where you want to save it on your computer. I suggest you make a folder with the appropriate title if you will be saving more than one. Then choose to save it in that folder. (You can rename the picture to better suit your purposes if you want. Just remember not to use symbols or punctuation marks as some sites do not allow uploading of pictures with those in the titles.) Feel free to ask for better clarification if needed.
