You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY!!

Arrrggghhhh!

Out of 29 items listed, I wake up to a BIN this morning, and the buyer is from Greece! My auction states "US only", and this is a seasonal item.

I wouldn't whine except that this person has 2 neutrals stating that she changed her mind after deciding shipping costs overseas were too high. The one that is recent enough to check out clearly states USA bidders only. The FB comment is "Customer backed out of transaction after postage overseas was revealed".

She has asked me to send an invoice including airmail with insurance for this item. The BIN price was $7.50, and the airmail shipping cost w/o insurance is $6.40; with insurance it is $15.85. I am guessing that this may be an issue. The item is a set of cookie cutters...

Anybody want to place bets on this one? I'll let ya'll know how it turns out! ;)

It snowed overnight up here in NH. I'm pining for FL!!!!!

I also am sitting here "e-baying" as I look out my window at my NH snow!! Certainly puts me in the holiday mood! Hope it puts e-bay buyers in the "buying" mood, as I have about 20 items I am listing tonight, in addition to the 20 or so I listed last Sunday. Unfortunately, I have also found the joy in e-bay BUYING, so that has eaten into my profit margin lately!! :D

pjlla, glad the snow puts you in the holiday mood! I'm trying to get there, but just keep thinking about my trip south in January.

It sure doesn't feel like Christmas on eBay. I'm getting hits, but other than my Greek buyer, it's just too quiet!

Let's hope that changes, for everyone's sake!

I am hoping you guess can help. When I log onto my Andale account my mom's stuff shows up. She was logged onto her account on my computer and now even though it shows my email address on the top of the page her items are listed. I have cleared cookies and temp internet files but to no avail. If it matters I am using XP.

Never mind I figured it out.
For anyone who might run into this problem here is what you do
Go to Settings>Market ID's and Passwords and correct the information.

It is VERY ODD how just logging into a different account would change the information associated with first account. But it did. It had my mom Ebay user name and password and her information listed under my account information,

I agree with you, Mrs. Snowgod! Lots of hits, but very few purchases. Items I thought would sell (NWT) don't, and things I listed without any expectations sold! Granted, only one bid for most items, but I list at the lowest amount I am willing to accept for an item. It probably scares some people away, but I'm not willing to make a trip to the Post Office or FedEx for $.99!

I also try to keep the shipping costs as resonable as possible, noting the shipping weight in the description if the item is heavy so buyers understand the reason for the high shipping rate. One lot of garments concerned me because of the weight, but it actually had several bids and not one complaint about the shipping!

Since the things I am listing are not selling well at this time, I'm going on eBay hiatus until after the holidays. Hopefully, the cash gifts people receive will spur them into activity at that time!

I'll lurk about to see how everyone is doing and answer questions when possible (very rare, since I'm new to eBay!).

Have a terrific holiday season and many successful auctions!
(Just in case I don't post again until after the holidays!)

Taja :sunny:

Well thanks to DH's 'help', I only managed to list one set of MK & Ashley dolls tonite. I had such plans. Day 10 of this cold has exhausted me and by the time I am healthy the buying season will be done!

I did offer free Priority Shipping with Insurance if they chose the BIN price. Hope that helps.

Just a note on Insurance - you can still print your Priority Label with DC online, but you will have to pay at the PO to purchase the insurance.

Now off to do a payment reminder from someone who bid 5 minutes b4 auction end but can't bother to pay.........

I just had great success wtih BIN.. it was the first time I used it ! We've been selling easy lightweight, non battery, educational toys for about two months now..

Its getting to be a lot going on Ebay wise. Just in one hour, as my DH and I were talking (I was doing school work), we got $70! (Granted these educational toys are about $10 a piece)

I was shocked... we've been using Stamps.com with the free offer, love it! We ran out of our free $20 in three business days! My DH was a beta tester for something (Andale? maybe?), and got a nice upgraded freebie with the colorful inserts on the border...

How cool - we'll be there most of the same time... leave Sat. 1/17 on the 7:30 p.m. SWA flight out of Manchester, and return 1/23 late afternoon. We are DVC members, so check in Sunday and check out Friday, avoiding the high point costs on Fri & Sat. We are going to start out with Pop Century for Saturday night to save points, and just check it out. Nothing about PC appeals to me other than the price and the fact that it is on WDW property! But DH thought it would be fun to try. Maybe I'll change my mind after trying it out.

Are you flying out of MHT, pjlla? If you haven't tried the 3 hour direct SWA flights yet, I highly recommend them! We got the $79 special, so RT for the 2 of us is only $350 after the taxes & fees. Oh, I just can't wait!!!

Back to our regular topic: :)

BTW, emailed my Greek buyer with s&h costs, and didn't receive any reply. Hmmmmm.:worried: :scratchin

The item sold for 29.00 and I insured it for $50.00.

I'm afraid she won't make any profit on the broken plate. You can insure it for $1000..but she'll have to show her receipt (in this case, the eBay auction sheet)..and they'll just give her what they consider her value..what she paid : (

WOW $79 ???? When did you book that? I couldn't find anything quite that good.... got close though.... booked with delta for $156/rnd trip each, but its not direct... oh well. I was probably being to picky about the times. We even looked into flying out of Boston, Hartford, or Providence, but luckily found the best price/time combo at MHT!! We flew out of Boston last time, because we had free tix on Airtran, which doesn't fly out of MHT. But the traffic home was a nightmare!! Late Saturday night, snowstorm, tired kids, post-WDW let down, etc!!! Looking forward to a 30 minute drive home from the airport this time!! SEE YOU AT DISNEY~!!!

OK Which page is the non-paying bidder directions on. Auction ended Friday nite. Sent the invoice. No payment. Sent a reminder notice last nite.

What are the next steps? Point me to the right page and I'll write it down for next time!

I think you are jumping the gun just a bit. You can not file a NPB until after 7 days have past. So you have at least two more days before you can file. If you still have not heard from the buyer on Friday then you can Go Here to begin the NPB processes.

I think many times as buyers we are overly anxious to get paid and the item sent that we forget that not everyone is online everyday. I know I am guilty of it.

I owuld also say you are jumping the gun...

We had an auction end I think on Sun. night.. lately every winning bidding has been rolling into Paypal, and this one hasn't. We just sent a reminder today or yesterday? (can't remember). We will have to do a NPB if it continues after Sunday.

Some people aren't online everyday, or sometime they send a money order and its just lagging in the mail..

And I would also like to add that sometimes things 'happen' since I know this first hand after my excursion to the hospital last week!

I just got a PayPal payment from my buyer from Greece! Yippee! Who am I to question why someone would pay twice as much for shipping as the item cost?!?!?
