I would love to try driving but its the limited vacation time that gets us. In our case there would be less magic driving than flying, because the driving time would take away from our time at WDW.

1330 miles each way from mid-Michigan. Usually takes us about 22 hours. We've driven straight through and we've stopped for the night. The drive isn't bad. We do this at least once a year. Most of the time, it is definitely worth the price difference of flying.

We have driven down to Orlando Area for the past 30 years. Yikes 30 years!
Anyway our trips are about 1500 each way. We must love it because we are planning on doing again this fall. LOL

Love watching the scenery and climates change on the way. We start up north in Minnesota and the weather can be winter up there and we drive into spring on our trip to florida.

We stopped at all the welcome centers and eat at Cracker Barrel at least once a day. Can get in and out fairly quickly and for about the same price as McD's.

It takes us 2 and a half days to get to WDW.

DH and I have flown 3 times and driven twice to Disney. It's about 1100 miles from central IL, and about 17 hours in total.

We stay overnight in the Atlanta area. We stay a little south of Atlanta on the way down so the 2nd day trip is shorter and a little north of Atlanta on the way back.

Most recently, we departed Illinois on Jan. 18 and arrived at Disney January 19. We then left Disney on Jan. 24 and got back home on Jan. 25. With all of the bad weather throughout the country this year, we were very fortunate to not run into any snow or ice going down or coming back!!

We have driven several times and will be driving again in June. We have calculated it to be exactly 1,001 miles from our driveway to Beach Club. We have driven it all in one day (which was awful) but usually try to get as far as we can on the first day, find a hotel to crash in, and then finish it the next day.

We are driving, with our camper in tow, to WDW in March from outside of Philadelphia. It is just under 1000 miles each way and should be about 18 hours each way. We plan on taking two days to drive down, we will do most of it the first day and probably stop somewhere around Jacksonville and then do the rest the following morning. We would much rather drive than fly, which is why most of our vacations revolve around our camper. We have been doing long road trips with our kids since they were infants, our longest was 26 hours strait through from PA to San Antonio a couple years ago, so they are used to it and usually don't seem to mind the drive.

When we lived in California we did a lot of trips to DL, the 5.5 mile drive was tough but somehow we always managed to have a good time.

We used to live in PA and drove the 16 hour trip straight through every time. It was a LONG trip with young kids, and my girls were so excited they would never sleep, which made for a tired couple of days. But we love to drive b/c then we can take what we want with us, have plenty of room for souveniers, etc. However, we just moved to NC about 5 months ago and it's only a 9 hour drive to Disney now, and we are REALLY looking forward to a shorter trip!
