You CAN use your WDW Birthday Fun Card at DLR

Just wanted to post this as we were told otherwise at WDW.

In September both my DM and DD10 had birthdays while we were at WDW. My plan was to use my DD's Birthday Fun Card toward the purchase of her AP when we got home. My mom was going to do the same thing.

When we got my DD's card the CM made sure to tell us, several times, that we would not be able to use the card at DLR, only WDW. Bummer-I wasn't planning on spending $79 on souvenirs we didn't need. Oh well, I used most of it up while there (even used some on presents for DD, don't tell her). I think I have about $20 left on the card.

When my DM got her card a few days late, again, they made sure to tell her it was only good at WDW. I don't think they tell everyone this, but they noticed we were from So. Cal. so that's why they mentioned it.

Flash forward to this week-my DM got her AP renewed (after a lapse of a month or so) While she was processing it she asked the CM if she could use her WDW FC to apply to the purchase. She said YES, no problem! So my DM was able to get her SoCal AP for only the price of admission-$72. She had a little over $50 on her FC and about $68 on her Disney Visa Reward card. No monthly payments for her.

So, I just wanted to let anyone know who is still going to WDW this year for their birthday, or who has already been and still has some $$ on their WDW Fun Card, that they can use it at DLR. We did. Even if the CMs at WDW tell you otherwise.

Aren't the cards just gift cards that are good at any location Disney serves? That is what my DD told me. Meaning the Disney store too? Have not tried but we too have left over $$ waiting to be spent. Since they never expire I am not worried about it but....... would love to know others experiences.

I don't know about using them at any Disney Store. I don't think so. You can use it at World of Disney.

The Birthday Fun Card is also not accepted at Disneyland® Resort Operating Participant locations or any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by the owners of the Disneyland® Resort, including but not limited to, Midway Games, Names Unraveled, Jewel of Orleans, Silhouette Studio, Portrait Artists, Parasol Cart, Heraldry Shop, Crystal Shops (Crystal Arts & Crystal d'Orleans), Paradise Pier Face Painting, Airbrush Tattoos, Rubio Portrait Artist or at Downtown Disney® District locations except World of Disney®Store, Marceline's Confectionery, Disney Vault 28 and Disney's Pin Traders. The Birthday Fun Card is also not accepted at Disneyland®Resort outdoor vending carts.

I was pretty sure by reading about the cards that we could use it at wither WDW or DLR. That's why I was surprised we were told by 2 different CMs, at 2 different locations, on 2 different days, that we had to use the WDW at WDW only. Turns out they were wrong.
