You bet your aft we had a good time! A Wonder trip report Update 12/30 p.59-611

I'm pretty sure DCL's Facebook page had a post today saying it would be Monday. Or at least they strongly implied it!

:hyper: I'm sure they'll announce EST. I'll be up at 6 am stalking to DCL boards. I see you've done MR on the Wonder. I'm going to check out your report. :thumbsup2 Where were your ports? I wonder if this is some Hawaii announcement and not Mexico? DH has been to Hawaii, the kids and I have not. Not sure I'd want to do Hawaii for the first time via cruise. I guess we'll see what they announce and what the pricing looks like.

Hawaii will be expensive and sell out quick. It's a long cruise, like 12 nights, but really fun. I readCorinna's TR from a year or two ago.

I think the Hawaii cruise would be fun but I know its expensive!

Fingers crossed for a West coast cruise for you guys!

If the rumors are true it's looking like it will be two 10 night one-way Hawaii cruises in Sept. 2015, one from Vancouver to Oahu and then Oahu to Vancouver. I could go for spending 5 nights at Aulani and then the Oahu to Vancouver to rest up before going back to work.

All this cruise speculation, I almost forgot to mention I love the Pirate Night update and the pics are adorable.

We were at Puerto Vallarta and two days in Cabo. I definitely don't think a cruise is the best way to do Hawaii for your first time, though for me leaving from San Diego would make almost anywhere an acceptable destination. I used to say that I'd never want to cruise to Hawaii, because one of my favorite times there is night, strolling on the beach. There is just something magical about being out in the dark, with the air thick with humidity and the scent of tropical flowers. However, last year I saw that Celebrity had a 14 night round trip cruise out of San Diego for as low as $1200 a person. I think that would change my mind!

On my DVC this morning they said new itineraries on Monday.

:hyper: I can't wait.

I hope it's not Hawaii for me. We couldn't pull off a family cruise for 12 days. I'll go find her report.

Thanks girl! :goodvibes

Thanks. It was a fun night for sure.

I like your idea of 5 nights at Aulani and then a five night cruise. :thumbsup2 The best of both worlds.

Love PV and Cabo. :thumbsup2 Has Disney had cruises out of San Diego before?

I agree with you about night strolls on the beach. :cloud9: If I saw prices like I'd change my mind too. That's amazing! DCL really is overpriced compared to the rest. Is Disney and I get it but there are some pretty good deals out there.

They only came here for the first time last year. They stopped here after the westbound Panama Canal and then I believe left straight for the Alaska cruises with a five night Pixar-themed cruise. This year they got in yesterday (pure torment driving across the bridge from our town to the mainland and seeing her, four times, and then driving right past after I picked up my folks at the airport!) and left for a two night "cruise to nowhere." Tomorrow they head off on another five nighter to Vancouver. Next year after the PC (which we will be on), they will be doing the two night one and then a three night Ensenada trip before heading up north. And of course a quick stop here before heading back to Florida each fall! It's nice and I sure wish they would start back up the Mexican Riviera cruises again - huge bonus if it was out of San Diego! Two nights is just too much of a tease.

You got your San Diego! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Yay you! Yay a me too. So Cal is so much easier for us. We can drive out a few days early and make it a land/sea Disney combo. The flights to the east kill us $$$ wise. Think you'll book one? I'd like more than Cabo even though I love Cabo. PV would have been cool too. I enjoy Ensenada and haven't been for years. That'll be a beach day. I'm looking at the Oct 18, 2015.

I am so excited! As long as the prices aren't somehow crazy I will definitely at least be booking one in hopes that it will work out! I just can't even... the fact that San Diego seems to be the new west coast non-Alaska home for Disney just makes me giddy! The Wonder is actually here today, again. I have a volunteer gig in a little while over at my town's animal shelter, which is right on the bay. I may have to pick up a cup of coffee after I'm done and just sit and gaze longingly...

I wish we could see the prices now. :hyper: Did you go see it? Pics! popcorn::

I'm happy it's not Alaska too. As many times as I've been to Mexico, I have little desire to travel anywhere cold weather even on a cruise. A Disney cruise though might be the only way I'd even elect someplace cold.

Love the pirate night costumes. Can't wait to hear about the party.

Thanks girl! I'll be getting to it soon. :thumbsup2

I did! I got my coffee and sat staring across the bay for a while. Not the best pic, but this is the view from the park by my house:

Yay! For San Diego! We are booking one of the 5 nighters for sure! Probably the 4th, but open to others if cheaper.

Erin (GooniesAndy), we may end up on the same cruise again! Nice view from your local park! :)

(Wonder pics from our MR cruise are in my trip report. Link in my signature!)

That would be so funny! I have nothing tying me to any particular date, so I will see what is cheapest, I guess. My calendar is so open that far in advance! And we don't have a fall break other than at Thanksgiving. The kids should have the 12th off, if they follow their usual holiday pattern, so I guess that could be a good week to go. I don't know! If it looks like a lot of fun Dis people are going to be on one, maybe I'll do that! I am clearly not prepared to think this far in advance.

Amazing Erin! How wonderful. :cloud9: I could have sat there all day.

I'll go check out the link. :thumbsup2

How cool is that?!?! Wow!

I know, right?!

I am going with the cheapest too but I prefer the 18th sail date if its reasonable. Did I say reasonable with regard to pricing? :rotfl2: I'm all for booking with fun peeps too. Pam, who's writing this report with me, is booking the Mexico cruise too.

I hope it's not Hawaii for me. We couldn't pull off a family cruise for 12 days. I'll go find her report.

It's the "Taking Stitch to Hawaii" report in her signature if you can't find it easily. She posts in the UK section.

I don't know how you folks are actually finding out about these cruises and itineraries, the DCL website isn't saying a thing. Everytime I try to find out about them, they only let me see the ones that are available to book now.

:headache:

Not that I could actually book any of these, but since Fran likes y'all maybe I can convince her if y'all are already booked! :thumbsup2
