You Are Not The First To Pass This Way: 2nd Magic Baltic Cruise, 6/24/2010

If we do Berlin we are definitely not taking the kids. We left them on the boat for Florence and Rome in 2007 when they were 3 and 6. Smartest move we could have made. They were very long days, with lots of travel time and walking. They had more fun on the boat.
We got to see a rest stop too on the Florence bus ride as well. Can't really remember the convenience store. :)

Also a special thanks to Yensidfan for going on the practice cruise before our trip. :thumbsup2

Also entertainment for small kids - we have them bring a backpack full of stuff - coloring books, Nintendo DS, and their ipods.

We are coming in mid morning on Jun 22. It will give us a day & a half to tour London. Plan on doing the HOHO bus tour there. I am trying to plan our trip in Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm with stops at the Ice Bars.

Anyone have creative ideas for good activities for young kids (boys ages 5 and 7) for St Pete?

Also is everyone planning on going to Berlin? Seems a lot of travel time with young ones. Anyone planning to stay at the port?

We will not be doing Berlin. The total travel time is just too much. We will stay in the port and do something there. When my aunt did a RCL cruise with these same ports 2.5 yrs ago, she said Warnemunde was her favorite port stop.

As for young ones in St. Petersburg, I really have no idea. I'm sure that you will find something that will interest them.

Is anyone booking window open up earlier then Feb 22nd? Disney says they are still modifying things.....the cruise before us should be booking soon.....hopefully they will figure it out.

Everyone on this thread is going on the 2nd cruise. I think you have the first possible booking window for that cruise because you're in a suite. So I think you get to go first!

Great I'm the guinea pig.....I was hoping the cruise before us would come over here and offer some advice.....LOL

Well, you could check out the meet thread for the first cruise and see if anyone has any comments....? Just an idea.

they don't have a lot going on on that thread.....not really talking about anything.

We are using SPB Tour in St. Petersburg and are planning on using them to Berlin as well.....since it will just be 2 adults and a 9 year old going to Berlin we are hoping to possible share a tour with someone from the ship.....if you are interested email me at mmaragon@prodigy.net.......we have not set a schedule yet but are leaning towards an overview tour with a possible stop at Pergommean.....not sure yet.....and are stll leaning towards the possbaility of doing a Disney Excursion.......let me know.

That's actually a repeat of an episode that we taped ages ago and watched recently. It made my kids really excited about the city and also made the city feel very accessible and easy to explore. She recommended getting out of the city center and exploring some of the neighborhoods.

Just made final payment on the cruise today, so I guess we're for sure going! Wonder why we have to make final payment so early, seeing I can't make reservations for anything until 90 days prior. Will be interesting to see what Disney does with pricing if not enough people make their final payment this week...

We are definitley doing a private tour in St. Petersburg to get more bang for our buck. We are a family of four, DD 17, DS 14 and would prefer either Red October Tour or SPB Tour. I was going to send in a request for a quote for the four of us but if I get more people it will cost everybody less money.

Or, if you have a small group and could take on four more people that would work also.

We are also considering the same for Germany.

Looking forward to all responses!

I was looking at the DCL itinerary for the June 24 sailing and they show us arriving at St. Petersburg at 12:30pm! Has anyone confirmed that we would be there early morning to do these two day tours which start at 7:30am?

I did call DCL and confirmed that we would not be in port early morning!

The tour guides that we contacted adjusted the tours to fit our times in port. Just make sure you let them know what cruise and times you will be in port and they will get a schedule to you.
