I was on wdwinfo reading menus at restaraunts for our upcoming trip (we leave this Sunday). I noticed that at the UK counter service stand that one of the side items was called crisps. Any ideas what these are or has anyone tried them. Chips were available as side items also so it wasn't them. Thanks for any info.

So is it just a bag of chips or are they actual sliced potatoes that have been fried??

Crisps in the UK are what Americans call chips. I presume that what we call 'crisps' are what Americans call chips.

When I was there last year (October) it was just Lays Potato Chips, so if you want the traditional flavors you can get in the UK, you are out of luck. But I must say the fish and chips were very good.

We call chips - crisps and fries - chips. Hence fish n chips. ;)
Shame they dont have flavored ones for you. A CM once told me that you dont have tons of flavors like we do. My favorite flavor 'crisp' are Marmite, prawn cocktail and worcestershire sauce. :goodvibes

It takes a bit of getting used to for those of us from the UK. Without thinking, my husband ordered burger and chips somewhere and received a burger with a bag of 'crisps' perched on top!! They were very kind and changed them for him!

Lays chips are exactly the same as the Walkers crisps we have here

Except for the flavors - Around the holiday's last year - I was in London on a project for work. We went to Marks and Spencer for lunch and I grabbed a bag of crisps that said something like 'happy holiday's'. I was quite shocked when I bite into them and they were poultry and sage flavored. :lmao:

I did fall in love w/ Cadbury Roses - last time I was at Epcot I tried to find some but no luck. Hopefully I'll get back there someday - I really enjoyed my time there, just had to spend too much time working.

:rose: Yes chips are crisps and chips are french fries and biscuits are cookies . I was very confused or confusing when I firsyt moved to the States. Cadburys Roses are deeelicious! I really miss Peardrops can't find them here.
