We (me, dh, ds10 and ds6) went on our first trip to the world last Feb, and I have been trying very hard to talk my husband into another visit. Well, he finally caved, and we are going back again in Feb. Last time we stayed at pofq and loved it! I wanted to try something new, so we are staying at CSR this time because of all I have read on these boards.
Now the fun part of picking out restaurants(I love to plan).
Last time we went to: Boma, CRT for breakfast, LTT, CG, H&V, WCC, Kona, Biergarten, and CP for char. breakfast.
We decided to do the package with the dining plan to simplify things.
I would LOVE to hear some advice on new places to try. My kids are pretty easy to please and pretty well behaved in restaurants, so I am completely open.

we loved the 50's diner at MGM. Lots of fun and good food.

I have a six and eight year old--we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and it was great! The kids loved the dinner at Whispering Canyon and WL has such a beautiful lobby it is worth the trip. Interestingly, we had dinner at the Garden Grill in Epcot--I thought is was so so, but my kids loved it. Finally, we thought the food at Ohana (for dinner) was the best food we had. Have a great time--I wish I were going in February!!!!!!!

Dinner at Chef Mickey's is an arrival day tradition for us--it's a fun, tasty way to start our WDW adventures! We really like Marrakesh in Morocco. It's different food and a different setting, which only adds to the enjoyment. Chefs de France is yummy too, as is their Boulangerie--ham and cheese croissant and a pastry from there is one of my favorite meals. (Don't how that works with the DP though.) We really tea at the GrandFloridian too. There are sooooooo many good choices, you're sure to pick some great ones. Enjoy!!

I talked DH into a second trip also! We just went and are going back for Jersey week. My problem is my kids want to eat at all of the same restaurants!!!!

We did a few of the same places you guys did but some other suggestions that we liked would be: 'Ohana for breakfast and/or dinner, 1900 Park Fare for dinner, Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Package and Le Cellier.

Have fun planning!

Thanks for all the great suggestions so far. I did end up making a res. at chef mickey's for arrival night, I thought that would be a great way to start out. I keep reading about Marrakesh and how much everybody seems to enjoy it. Not too spicy for kids??? My ds happens to turn 10 in January and he will be able to eat off the adult menu.

We have taken our boys to the Hooptedoo Review twice. They are now 18, 20, and 22 and they still talk about how much they loved it. You might try that one. We love Mama Melrose too! Lots of choices and some very familiar food for most kids. The flatbreads are very good!

I would try Sci-Fi Dine In at MGM. IMO the food is good but not great but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. Your kids will have a great time there! Have fun choosing! :sunny:

We just returned and ate out on the dining plan every day. I thought everything was excellent except the Hoop-dee-do.

The best character meal was our 08:10 breakfast at 1900 Park Fair (GF). It had Mary Poppins, Pooh & friends, and Alice in Wonderland's crew. There were so many characters and they were so friendly, we had very little time to eat. Every time we turned around, our 3 year old was hugging a character. The food was also better than expected, and the atmosphere was exceptional. If you're on the dining plan, they'll offer you a choice of delicious fruit smoothies as a breakfast drink.

Mama Melrose at the Studios was nice - it was not crowded, had roomy seating and very, very good italian fair. It is out of the way, but worth the walk.

Enjoy your next trip!!!
