Yippee! Going to WDW for 5yr anniversary! Home from the World...what a trip!

Thanks for stopping by! The time really does fly (especially being in school for half of it).

My hubby is VERY creative... He told me yesterday he would love to see them make some wedding cakes at Disney.. I wonder how I make that happen... guess I will have to do some research on that but not much time to find out if he can shadow a pastry chef there.

Yeah!!!! I was able to schedule a time for my hubby to shadow the exec pastry chef at the GF!!!

Just found your PTR, ya'lls wedding was WONDERFUL!!! I had planned a disney cruise for our 10th anniversary, but we bought a house instead....worked out good I guess. Um, we're going in about a month for my DH's and DS's birthdays, they're back to back, not sure HOW I worked that one out....anyways, Ideas to make it special...Definedly get the anniversary buttons, and WEAR them, your resort should be able to get them for you. Have you checked out the cake thread on the restaurant board? You can get a cake ordered and when you're in CRT you can get the castle topper, something to reminisce I guess. Bring your favorite bottle of wine and kick back and um, relax the night of your anniversary. If he likes something particular, sneak it in the ressie somehow. For my Dh's birthday we're going to Kona for dinner, and I'm sneaking in wishes from the beach at the poly as a surprise for him. And maybe a sea raycer rental for him and my dad....they're crazy boat people. Just think of things that he would like and run with it....go see the cake thread, and see if there's anything he would like. And take the parks slow, don't go too fast. I like to stop and smell the flowers so to speak. AND I like to hold DH's hand while walking thru the park. THAT seems magical to me. Get LOTS of pictures, and maybe schedule a resort photograph session to capture the memories!! For the flight, take some snacks in your carry-on. SW doesn't feed anyone LOL There may be some places open in MCO when you get there, but maybe not since it's kinda late and you'll be pushing it with the ME time. Ask when you check into your resort if room service is still available....it may be, even in those wee hours, cause if you think about it, by the time you get to your resort, the people will be making their way back from the parks and will want a snack, so they may be running still!! MOST important of all, Have fun, and enjoy your hubby's company!!!!!

Thanks so much for visiting!

As of right now I doubt we will be dining at CRT. The reservation I have does not fit with the schedule so it looks like that is out. I keep trying for a reservation on a day that will work but it doesn't seem to be happening. I've been calling 2-3x a day for a few weeks now.

I plan on wearing the Anniversary button :-)

I try and hold my hubby's hand every chance I get so that is definitely something I will be doing.

I'm thinking some luncheables might be an option to bring on the plane. just concerned about the sodium content on those as I allready swell up like a balloon when flying...

Also thinking pringles since they don't smoosh in my carryon...

The problem I have with bringing snacks is it has to be something I can pack the day before we leave as I work night shift and we are getting on the plan less than 3 hours after I get off work. I will be heading to the airport AS SOON as I get home from work.

Ah, gotcha! Pringles do sound good. I'm not too into those lunchables things, can you make your own with a box of wheat thins and some real cheese, and some ham from the deli? Your DH will have to pack it, but it's somthing you can make up and put in those disposable ziploc bowls. Just an idea to help with the swelling. I just hate to fly, so I would have to have LOTS of booze!!!! HAHA I was looking into CRT for my mom's birthday in september, but I just couldn't justify going there, the food for dinner didn't look that good, and we'll have 2 extra people there that would be paying OOP, and it's just too outrageous! I've always wanted to try it, just to say I've eaten in the castle, but didn't want to break the bank, or my aunt's bank!! LOL

you are so right! Making my own lunchables is probably a MUCH better idea...

CRT I think is more for the atmosphere and characters for kids than it is for the food from what I have heard. The fact that it uses 2 TS points even for breakfast is what I have a hard time with....

I cannot believe our trip is only 9 days away!! I am so excited while my husband is so NOT excited... I really hope that changes once we are there...

I've preordered the Disney photopass CD. Hoping we find lots of photopass photographers around to make it worthwhile! I also ordered some more media sticks for my digital camera! Hoping those arrive in time...

Here is a few of our castle themes items:

Our cake

The ice sculpture which was my hubby's gift to me for our wedding:
ry%3D400

I love looking at wedding pics - the cake is beautiful and that ice sculpture is just amazing. I can't believe people can actually do that!

I'll definedly second the photopass, I've never done the CD's but have gotten a couple of pictures from them, and they've been GREAT!! Little on the pricey side, but that's alright :) It's FUN making more memories, DH and I have been married almost 12 years, and it's never gotten old!! He's still my best friend, and the love of my life!! :)

I figure the Photopass will be a good way to get both hubby and I in the same pic instead of only one of us at a time.

I'm so excited just one week to go!!!

I purchased ridemax today. I am having a ton of trouble with it for DHS!!! If I put my ADR's in it says that we can only do 3 rides and one show... I guess my ADR's are at the wrong time to see a lot of shows...urgggg!!!

I finally got an ADR for Hoop de Doo Musical Review!!! Category 3 but oh well...

So as the way my ADR's are at right now I will use all of our table service points!

5 of our meals are 2TS each which I think really speeds up the use. I am just hoping all our meals live up to our expectations!

Hi there! I just found your report and have enjoyed reading it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and excitment! Happy Early Anniversary!!! We just celebrated #9! You will have such a great trip, especially after not going in 10 years! SOOO much has changed!

I LOVE the pictures of the cake and ice sculptures. It looks like you had an amazing wedding. Just beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures here.

Travel day food is hard... we usually bring snacks on the plane as well. We are planning to do a good breakfast prior to leaving, which might be hard for you if you are just getting off work (btw, what kind of nursing do you do? I work in an urgent care clinic!). Though maybe hubby could have something ready. We wont have time to eat again until we reach MCO. We get in a couple hours earlier than you so it will be a little easier. I would definitly say pack a sandwich in your carry on, or pick up something on your layover and carry it on with you.

I bought Ridemax about a week ago too. Its a fun thing to play with, but I have had a little trouble getting things to fit in with my AK day. I cant fit everything into my DHS day either, though we found that to be the case when we went in 2006. I think if you really want to do more than one show plus the rides you almost need another half day. I am glad you are going to make Spectro... I love that parade! After the AK one, it is our favorite!

Finally, I just wanted to say that my last trip in 2006 was my husband's first as well. I adore all things disney and he could take it or leave it. He was minimally involved in the planning, and kind of seemed to think the trip was more "for the kids". But he ended up having a really nice time and enjoying things too. I think he is looking forward to our upcoming trip and offered a few opinions, though he still hasnt become the disney fanatic I had hoped he would! I will be anxious to hear what your hubby thinks of it all!

Have an AWESOME trip!! i cant wait to read your reports! You should be getting back almost when we head out! I cant wait either!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm a Med/Surg nurse. I work on a primarily Surgical floor working with thoracic, abdominal and gyn surgeries. I also float to Ortho/Surg and Mother/Baby. I am rarely on my own floor...

I am very hopeful that my hubby will at least enjoy our trip even if he doesn't become a fanatic like myself.

I've seen the old nighttime parade but not spectro. I really thought the other one was quite impressive so really want to see this one.

I am so super excited about going... Its all I think about, lol.

Since I work this weekend my goal is to be primarily packed by tomorrow with adding just a few essentials after that.

So far I have my clothes packed next up is hubby's...

I have to see if I can get him some shirts that are not "big dogs" sayings... I have a feeling some people may find them offensive.

I can't believe we leave in only 2 days!!! I am so excited!! Of course I still have to get through 2 more days of work.

I also need to make sure I am fully packed by this time tomorrow...I'm certain I am forgetting to pack things...

I always forget to pack stuff, it's inevitable I think LOL Have fun, make sure you come back and give a good review with LOTS of pics!!!!! 23 days for me!! WOOHOO

Packed and ready to go!!! Oh wait... I gotta work one more shift first. I have asked to have the night off but it is doubtful that I will get it. I've barely slept the last few days so I would love to have the night off but if not I will definitly be sleeping on the airplane.

Wellclike I had predicted I was not able to get off of work last night. I was able to give report to the next shift very quickly and at least get home 30 min early. So I am very tired!

At the phoenix airport now. Another 5 or so hours till we reach Orlando.
