This is an update to "buy Halloween costume here or there" thread. Consensus was that it would be significantly cheaper here than in DW. Well, today we checked out the Disney Store - already sold out of DD9 size in Tinkerbell which I thought was an outrageous $49.50 (you still have to buy wings, wand, headpiece etc, encouraged DD to try on another dress without looking at price tag assuming along the same price - heck no! Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty etc. all $100!! Am I the only one that thinks that is outrageous? I told DD that we will wait until BBB - I really can't imagaine that they could be more expensive? Plus she'll have more selection. Maybe they put them at this price because they were figuring at putting them at 50% off fairly quickly, but the cm told me they are selling like hotcakes - that why they have no sizes left. I think there's just too much money in Calgary (and it's not with me). By the time we were done with shoes, tiara, wand etc it would have topped out with tax at about $160.00. :confused3

Wal-mart sells "Disney" princess and fairy costumes in the toy dept. You can get complete outfits for $25. :thumbsup2 I picked up a Tink outfit at Winners -- skirt, wings, slippers, head band, fairy wand -- for $16.99 in the toys dept.

Even disneyonline is cheaper than the Canadian Disney stores :confused3

Your other option would be to order online and have it shipped to your hotel at WDW so that it is there when you arrive.

A word of caution though, I have read on other forums that shipping from disneyshopping is not always the fastest.

At the Disney store, the yellow belle dress was $49.50 (the red one was $99.00) I had to buy my niece one since the one I bought for her birthday (the summer version which I got on sale for $18 was too small).

Did you ask them to check the back for the tinkerbell dress in the size you needed?

I work for the DS in Vaughan Mills and the only costumes we have that are $100 is the deluxe Belle and Cindy. However, there is also a regular costume of those two, as well for $49.50. The tiara is $14.50 and wand. They will go on sale in probably around 2 weeks. There is no price adjustment either, so when they do go on sale they may not have the size you are looking for.

I noticed some beautiful princess dresses at an extremely reasonable price at Costco. I was very surprised to see how inexpensive and pretty they were. They even have their own hoop sewn into the bottom to make the dress pouff out. Try it!

Our local Goodwill store has BRAND NEW Disney costumes ~ still with tags ~ for $5.99. They are missing minor items....a belt or a bracelet. I bought my daughter [age 12, adult size] a gorgeous costume...it's missing a head band and belt. SHE LOVES IT! And again....BRAND NEW! Sandra
