I've been reading the various Wii threads lately ~ I know my DDs would probably like one as they play them at school and there seem to be some very good deals out there.

Now, please don't laugh at me ;) but I can remember when the Wii first came out it was being reported in the media how people were getting carried away and hitting holes in doors etc. Is this true :confused3 or just something the media exaggerated. It's just that our lounge isn't that big and I've got some very nice ornaments ~ not necessarily valuable but irreplacable, if you know what I mean. :rotfl:

We have never had a problem Elaine.

When they first released the wii and all those things were in the media about the straps breaking, they changed the straps so they are stronger now. You should be fine. I am sure your DD's will love it. :goodvibes

weve never had a problem either.
just make sure youve got a clear area to work with.xx :goodvibes

We had to rearrange the living just to make sure nothing was in the way ;) and nobody hit their opponent.
Just make sure that your DD's get in the habit of putting on the locking strap, even for non active games and you'll be fine :)

I have nearly put my hand through my cousins tv but that was because I was too close when bowling:rotfl2: as others have said just make sure you have room to play in.

Yeah you will be fine, just make sure you leave the kids enough room. We have never had a problem!

Ours cost me over £200 in osteopath fees when I hurt my shoulder playing it :lmao:

Our living room is soooo tiny, but we don't seem to have problems. The girls get a bit carried away-like jogging into the TV :confused3 ,or near enough whacking each other whilst playing baseball-but no major problems like the ones you mentioned.x.

amazon have good deal on now, £169. including sport game and get another game for £10. (we got the mario race game with wheel)

I smashed my glass light fitting doing an overhead smash in tennis a couple of years ago....havent really played on it much since, apart from to try (and be dissapointed with) Samba De Amigo.

As long as they wear the wrist strap it should be fine. My future brother in law didn't wear his and nearly sent the Wii mote flying out of a window!

Thanks everyone :goodvibes I bit the bullet and ordered one yesterday. There's loads of deals out there but I went for one from Game for £179 which included Mario Olympics. Then in ordered Wii Play from Amazon for £27 so there will be a second remote as well.

They will be wearing their wrist straps!! :rotfl:
