This is a math problem that my son had marked incorrect on his homework. This is the same teacher that counts homework as 75% of their grade, so 1 question really does matter.

The prime factorization of a number is 2x2x3x3x3x5x5x5x5x5.
What is the number? His answer 337500.

Here is another marked incorrect. Find the prime factorization of 40. His answer is 2x2x2x5

I know these are correct, but I guess I just need someone else to confirm this. ::yes::

They look right to me::yes:: Did he show his work? Maybe she was looking for that? I'm sure it was just a mistake on her part.

Isn't your son's HW graded by another student. Either way, I would have my son talk to the teacher about how he didn't "understand" these two problems on what he did wrong. That way it's checked again and he can be given credit!

Yes, his HW is graded by another student. He will be bringing it to her tomorrow. I just wanted to be positive it was correct and that I wasn't missing something. Oh, how I'm looking forward to the end of this school year.::yes::
