Yet another dues question

okay we bought at AKV in July and we don't pay dues until May so if I am figuring this right we will pay 4.71/pt for our number of points for the remaining 7 months of the year.

Just trying to do my budgeting so I have it to pay it right then.

or will I pay the 8 months in January?

I am too lazy to call my guide to find out so I am hoping you can all help.

Not exactly certain, but I THINK you will pay dues for May-December but they will be due in January.

Pretty sure that is what our guide told us when we purchased last month.

You will owe about 8 months worth of 2009 dues. They actually calculate it based on the number of days left in the year. It will be based on the 2009 dues which will be higher than the 2008 dues. The average annual increase is around 4%.

If you are paying as a lump sum, you may not even receive the bill until late May/early June. I pay my dues monthly and when I added on at Jambo House I think my first payment was withdrawn in November even though my dues started Oct 1st. I still owed about 3 months' worth of dues but ended up paying them in two installments (Nov and Dec) instead of three.

For 8/12th of a year (2/3) it would be $3.14 with a 5% increase it would be about $3.30

If it is the same “terms” as other DVC dues you could pay them in Jan or have them direct deducted over the 12 months starting in Jan. For the real answer call member accounting.
