Have existing reservation booked for September.

will blame dealing with the hypnotizing circle of death I’ve been battling the last few days re booking December trip

I uncharacteristically very early banked the rest of my Dec points used for the September trip into next UY

DH just asked me to add on a day to the September trip. I have a feeling he might very well change his mind between now & then and want to revert back to the original reservation dates. Don’t want to lose the borrowed points in that scenario

Walk me thru this, please, if I do borrow the points to modify the existing reservation:

do all the points then mingle into a lump of sorts?

Or

do they ‘stick’ to the newly added date?

IE after possibly modifying the reservation to remove that specific added date, will I see points in my account that I could bank into the next UY?

If you borrow points to add the day, and then later shorten the stay (on or before the 31 day mark), it's possible that the borrowed points will be returned to your account. But immediately after canceling, you can modify the reservation (choosing exactly the same days and resort that you want). The system will first use the borrowed and any banked points in that use year, leaving you with current use year points. If you are not past your banking deadline, you can then bank those points.

So bottom line: No worries if you make any changes on or before 31 days prior to arrival AND you are not past your banking deadline.
