Awwww! Congratulations to your family!!! I was married at 19 as well, my husband is 9 months older than I am. We have been married for almost 16 years! We still did all of the things our friends were doing in our 20s, we just did them together! I think it was a lot less stressful! When everyone else had the drama of finding/meeting/falling in love/breaking up......., we had each other! It was great! It will be so exciting for you to help plan the wedding...I hope we get to hear details!!!

Thanks Kathy! Glad you are caught up! Was it cold in February? This was the first February in several years that we didn't make it to WDW. Bummer but I can't go 5 times a year.
We were only there for a few days of our FL visit, February 23 - 26, but we had sunshine and temperatures in the middle 70's to low 80's each day. And the weather was the same during the preceding week on Sanibel Island with the exception of a foggy early morning or two.

It was a cruel shock to return to the third polar vortex of the season here in SE Michigan the night of the 26th.

I'll say that's a vast difference in temps! That is the time that we went last year when it had a high of 80 one day and then a low of 35 when we left. Stay warm!

Thank you Bill! Our prospects of future for grandkids sounds familiar. Em will be my 3rd of 4 kids married. My oldest is getting close and I adore his girlfriend. He's 31 so I would have thought he would have been married before my baby! My middle and youngest sons have no desire for kids right now.

I was 20 and my DH 22 when we got married. Now I am 32 with a graduate degree, a career, a nice house and 3 beautiful children while several of my friends from high school still live with their parents. So it can definitely work out well to marry young.

My dad was 21 when he married my mom 50+ years ago. So yeah, it can and does work.

I can't imagine my daughter, who is 18 in July, getting married so young even though I met my husband aged 16, engaged at 19, married at 22 and first baby at 23. This year we're celebrating 25 years together though and are happier than ever.

No doubt, 19 is young for being married. However, we are confident this is the right young man for her and if they want to extend their engagement, they won't have any arguments from us.

Sunday August 25, 2013: Day 10, Part 2​

Following lunch at Le Cellier (and that little incident of Em falling out of her chair - oops!) we watched O’Canada in CircleVision 360.

Here begins my shameless plug for Canada! What a beautiful country. I’ve only been to British Columbia so I can vet that part of the country is as stunning as they show. Eva Avila who sings Canada (You’re a Lifetime Journey) has an amazing voice. That song is so moving that it almost makes me want to be an honorary Canadian. However that may mean that I have to learn the metric system, eat poutine, and speak French so I better retain my current citizenship.

When we exited the show it was that time of day that the storms were moving in. Being the rain wimps that we are we decided to head for the exit. (I know it is tough but please refrain from asking why we travel so far and spend so little time in the parks if we run for the exit every time a little rain falls from the sky.) See, even the CMs are battening down the hatches.

In our perfect timing yet again, it started to rain when we were safely on the resort monorail platform. We had originally planned to go to a water park but the weather had us nix that idea.

We made a brief stop at the Contempo Café for a cupcake. There were not a lot of choices left that late in the day but I picked a Monster’s Inc. funfetti version. I ate ½ and it was just ok. The Mike W ring embellishment was the best part.

Back in our room I noticed that the dishwasher had been run for the heavy load of dishes that we had dirtied.... NOT! There was one glass that I placed in the sink for which mousekeeping had started the dishwasher.

The absence of photos for the next 3 hours strongly implies that we must have taken a nap. We’re like little kids I tell you. In our defense, we did stay up pretty late and for me at least, I was usually up around 6:30am.

Sunset was lovely over Seven Seas Lagoon. Ignore the parking lot for the above photo. Focus on the already past sunset shot of the sky!

We had a Kona Café dinner at 8:20pm so we hopped on the resort monorail for the 3 minute ride over to the Poly. While we were awaiting the monorail we noticed that we didn’t see Monorail CM "Joe." In fact, we didn't see him all week. (see here for Joe story.) We joked that perhaps Joe was banished to the tram parking lot or as Em suggested just maybe he took the retired Grand Marshal Hosts job. Video to document this exchange is here.
