Yes, I'm On My Way - Surprise Trip 5 Years in the Making! - Non-Trip News 6/5/09

Ooh, I would love to wind up in Florida! I actually did an internship at Universal (BOO!!) and lived down there for 3 months. It was during the winter, and I just loved it. Good luck!!

Bummer! That really stinks you aren't able to ride SM last time and yet again this year. I'm really bummed about the rehab too. Although, I was a bit happier when I learned TTA should be up and running during our trip.

Ha, I think it's kind of cool your DH doesn't do Valentine's Day. I'm not really fan of the holiday myself, although I will admit I like the gifts! What a sweet non-Valentine's Day gift he gave you. Can't wait to see pictures of it. The other dress is really cute too!

Btw, you all look gorgeous in your wedding photo!!

I've never had one, but I'm dying to try the cream cheese pretzel at the Lunching Pad! They sound soooo good. And I've always wanted to try the fries with cheese sauce at Casey's.

You look so pretty in your wedding dress and I love your new dress! Where is it from?

Not a fan of US? Why?? We love going there; you have to share your reasons now!

Thanks for the photo compliment!

Cream cheese pretzel? Omg. I just added that to my list. I love those soft pretzels, and cream cheese is the worst possible diet splurge for me. I love it, but it's so bad for you!!

It's from Kohl's; love that place!! They have the best sales, ever!

Ha, sorry...I should have been more specific. I actually LOVE going to Universal. It was just working there that stunk...BADLY! I was a guest relations intern at City Walk and my supervisors were some of the worst people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They would make fun of the guests, workers and pretty much anything else. They just made it miserable. However, it was nice spending the winter in Florida and being able to enjoy the parks. I loved riding the Mummy over and over again. I also went over to Islands of Adventure and would spend a lot of free time shooting people with the water cannon on Dudley Do Right. Obviously, I had no life while I lived down there. :lmao:

I think we might spend a few days at Universal, too. DH loves both parks!

So I finally had a chance to come over here and check out your TR :cool1: I am definitely already hooked (and not just because we will be there at the same time :rotfl: ).

Ok, where do I begin? First, you were a beautiful bride!! Second, I can't believe what happened to you on your flight back from your honeymoon :scared1: That really freaks me out to fly when we go, but there is no way we could drive and have enough time to enjoy the parks.

Lastly, in comments to your MK eating I am not much help. The only places we ate at when we went were Pecos Bills (which I have to admit was good food and a good deal...loved the chicken wrap!!) and the Plaza Restaurant also good but nothing spectacular!!

I am SO excited to follow along with your TR!!!:woohoo:

Thank you so much for the compliment!

I know; I'm terrified of flying right now. It'll take us 23-24 hours to get there, but if we leave at 6:00am and drive until DH gets tired (which, isn't normally until midnight or later), stop, and then get up around 8:00am the next day, we'll be at WDW by lunch! I have to take some extra time off from work, but it's worth it to me so I'm not stressing out about the flight home while we're at WDW!

I'd love to do a DIS meet while we're there!! I'm already working on making my lime green Mickey head and am hoping to run in to a lot of DIS'ers!!

Where do you want snack/food suggestions from?

Right now, anything must-have at MK. :)

Okay...well I love going to the Bakery at the end of the day and getting cinnamon rolls to eat for breakfast the next morning!

And for lunch? I love both Cosmic Ray's and Pinnochio's!

And for TS? I love Tony's!

Cute dress. Beautiful wedding picture (again). and Great dining options.
I got my first dole whip in October. It was AWESOME!!! I had to fight my two year old over the last bit ;)
My other favorite is the strawberry funnel cake sundae :lovestruc I bought one for my DH right before the fireworks at the MNSSHP and I decided to step back a bit for a better view (we were about 10 feet apart). By the time the fireworks was over I had eaten nearly the entire thing! He was so mad at me :rotfl:

Beautiful wedding dress!

Just wanted to say hi & I'm glad things are going good.

Things are coming along very nice on my end as well.

Cant wait til we surprise our survivors!

Love of love! :tinker:

Okay, somehow I missed the little blurb on the first page about how your Mom would drive you around to all the boy band stuff. That is so funny, b/c my Dad was the same way! He took me to my first concert ever -- New Kids on the Block. I was only 5 years old, and he took me and my BFF. He actually sat there mocking all the girls screaming, "I hate Jordan!" :rotfl2: It was mortifying at the time, but now I think it's hilarious. It's definitely one of my favorite memories of my Dad.

OMG; I love funnel cake. I'll have to try this! I'm going to have to be insanely healthy the next few months!!

I was so excited to see you stop by!!

I'm not sure if you told me yet, but where are you staying?

And, when are telling the surprise?? Are you going to do it the week-of or more in advance? I'm telling my mom in June so she'll have time to take care of her daycare stuff. But, I'm not sharing any details with her!

I didn't make it to the NKOTB concert when I was little; DM thought I was too young. But, she made up for it with all of the N'Sync concerts. The first time we met them was right when their Disney concert came out, actually. They were on our red-eye flight to Orlando; JC was actually next to me the whole time. (He fell asleep.) I had my BOP magazine and was insisting to my mom that it was him by holding the poster up to his face. (This was before anyone really knew who they were, and they couldn't even afford to sit together on the plane!) My mom actually asked JC if that was him in the poster; it thrilled him to death! He took us to the rest of the group at baggage claim and introduced us to all of the guy's fams and friends. (There was a younger pop-star that was also unknown there at the time to see her boyfriend. :rotfl: I could care less about her being there though!)

I have so many fun N'Sync stories!!

HA! I would've LOVED to be in your position back in the day. I was so obsessed w/ N'Sync. I would've taken a picture of myself w/ JC sleeping in the background. I have no shame! :rotfl: I'd love to hear your some of your N'Sync stories. Oh, how I loved them... I saw them in concert about 5 times. I told that to Aaron and he thought I was nuts. I'd totally see them again, even though I'm not into boy bands. They were really great performers. I loved it!

Oh, and funny you mentioned BOP magazines. I used to be a closet reader of those. I acted like they were Playboy or something, and would hide them in other magazines while I read them in the magazine aisle at the store. :lmao: For some reason, I was embarrassed to let people know I looked at them.

I opened it and stared at him a bit puzzled as the main reason I hadn't already bought it was because we have nothing coming up for me to wear it to; he goes "We're going to that steakhouse in Canada, right? We'll dress up that night!" I cracked up for a bit that he didn't refer to Le Cellier as being in WDW, but in Canada. :rotfl: (I can't find a picture of my dress online, so I'll keep digging! And yes, I have several outfits for our trip planned already; I'll share them over the next few months!)

DM and I ended up doing a little shopping yesterday and had a romantic dinner at the only place we could find without a line - Waffle House. :rotfl: We decided against the movie as the tickets were selling out quickly in advance and we didn't want to fight the date night crowd. She bought DH a shirt and tie for Valentine's Day. (He loves to dress up.) And, she bought a summer dress for me that will be perfect for WDW. (Although, she doesn't know I'm saving it for a dinner one night on our trip!)

I did find that one online:

Saturday was tough for me; it's the first time I've seen DM since we booked our vacay, and I kept fighting myself not to say anything. I almost slipped and said something about wearing the dress to a dinner, and that the new sneakers she promised me later on will be great to walk around the parks! I have to practice keeping this a secret!

DH and I did a lot of planning today, went to see Bolt (it was "okay" in our book), and watched the WDW planning video several times! (We can recite the thing now!)

So, here's what I need all of your help with; I'm going to post the ADRs we will be making in each park (and eventually, outside of the parks) to see what you all think. I'll note which ones we have been to already, and which ones are new. I'd love opinions on what food not to miss at these ADRs. And, I'm going to ask for snack suggestions in that specific park, too!

We'll start with...

Magic Kingdom:
Crystal Palace - We've always been for breakfast, but thinking about doing this one for dinner.
Snacks - Dole Whip (never had one), Main Street Bakery (never been there), cream cheese pretzel (Lunching Pad), and Casey's cheese fries & corn dog (never been there either)

I just realized we aren't eating in MK much like we normally do, so let me know if there's anything you think we should definitely hit up there snack wise! (No more room for ADRs!)

And, just for another picture, here's a family shot:

UP NEXT: HS ADR/snack suggestions and what did I find for $1.00 that will be great for our trip??

First of all, that wedding picture is GOR-G-EOUS! :goodvibes

It sounds like you had a great Valentine's Day! I can't wait to see a pic of the dress DH got you. The one your mom got is so pretty! I just love sundresses like those. :lovestruc

You MUST get a Dole Whip at MK. Your life will be forever changed. :rotfl: Personally, I love the pineapple/vanilla swirl because its sweeter than the pineapple softserve alone, which can be a little on the sour side. My aunt prefers the float with the actual pineapple juice in it. Either way, it's AWESOME.

I also recommend the funnel cakes at Sleepy Hollow and the cheesecake at Main Street Bakery. Yummy! :cloud9: I've never tried the cream cheese pretzel, but boy does it sound good! :cool1:

That is the COOLEST story EVER! OMG, you were so lucky! :worship: JC was my favorite in N'Sync. The image of you holding up BOP to prove to your mom that it was him is PRICELESS! :rotfl2:

Also, I love that you didn't care about the "unknown pop-star who was there to see her boyfriend." :lmao: Too funny!

I don't even remember how many times we saw them. One time, my mom had a whole mini-van full of us. We went to the hotel they were staying at, but they checked out early and the buses were pulling away as we drove in to the lot!!

But, there, sitting in the middle of the parking lot was a box. And, inside the box were multiple water bottles with the guy's names on them, and sweat towels also with each guy's name on the tags. We may have taken that box. And, my girlfriends and I may still have those items in a box from our teeny-bopper years. :rotfl2:

The last time they came through, we stayed at the Four Seasons with them. By then, my mom had become friends with their PR manager. It was nuts; you had to have a room key and ID to get inside just the lobby of the hotel. They were here for a good 3-4 days, so they did a lot in the DFW area - major malls, Six Flags, etc. It was so funny, every time we'd leave the hotel, there'd be a car of girls following us (my mom and my friends) trying to see if we were going where the guys were headed!

I have so many great stories because of my mom!

First of all, that wedding picture is GOR-G-EOUS! :goodvibes

I love sun dresses, too! That's all I wear once it gets warm here. Which, happens pretty early in Texas!

I am going to have to get DH some of that cheesecake; it's his favorite!

Haha; I never hid my BOP. I was too N'Sync crazed to care!

Just saying hello---hope your day is going well.

Hello!

Popping in to say hi too!!:sunny:
