Yep, I took a picture of that (9100 total) COMPLETED 9/1

Have you been to the new Phillies stadium?

I've seen it in pictures, but not first hand. And driving by, so technically that's first hand, but I haven't been inside it. Same goes with the Linc. I was at the last regular season game at the Vet though. We played the Redskins. And we won :cool1: I was at college the day they tore down the Vet. I turned on our little TV in the dorm and it was on ESPN, the first image they showed that morning was the Vet being imploded. I didn't know it was happening that day. I cried. :sad1:

Gotcha. If you were from around here I'd get some pics for you so you can "remember when." Little too far for me right now though.

That's an awfully nice thought :goodvibes I'm not homesick today, I guess it was just a small moment in time brought on by the pictures of PHL! :rotfl: Though to be perfectly honest, I'm so glad I don't have to fly through there anymore!!

Just found this and eagerly read about your family's trip from beginning to...middle? ;) Can't wait to read more!

I couldn't agree with you more on the magic found in the details. It's a big part of what sets Disney apart from other parks. Loving your pictures (more IS better!) Even after 7 trips you've captured details I never noticed before (bee tape? -- genius!).

Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Can't wait to read on...

Welcome aboard! So far we're about 1/2 way in. I still have over 1000 I'd like to post before the end. I love hearing that I took a picture of something someone hasn't noticed yet, that's awesome! Grab some popcorn and get comfy popcorn:: there's plenty to see yet!

I wanted to do the Indy show, we were even in the front row, but it was just the guys.....wait, I may have said too much! That is still to come!

I have tried twice with no luck. The first time I tried, the guy next to me was too quick. He jumped up, screaming before my butt thought of leaving the seat. The second time I was quick but the casting director wasn't looking my way. I did manage to scare the woman sitting behind me though. :lmao:

I walked around taking shots like Joe Tourist trying to capture mostly everything I saw, with the sole purpose of posting them on my report when I got home. I know there are a lot of people who hold the Studios up there as being the best park out of all four, so for you I give you these. If there is one person who closes their eyes and pretends they are there so their day gets better, than it was worth it to me.

So I closed my eyes and I was there, :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: back in Disney Studio's my favorite park in the Worlds. Thank you for such great pictures. I loved every little detail.

I also loved the pictures of the "UP" Characters. I'm so excited to get to see them when we go in April.

By the way, On the BackLot Tour, my DS (17)was the person that sat in the phone area and was drenched with water, and my best friends husband was the captian of the ship. It was lots of fun watching them. We filmed the movie afterwards, so we could show them the final take.

Thanks you for such a great post.

Of late, I've really grown to love Hollywood Studios.

I can think of so many places in that park that I'd love to have the time to just casually stroll through.....sit, have a nice dessert.....people watch. Love it there!

Wow!! I go on vacation and come back to see that you have posted tons of pictures! I think your photos capture the activity that is everywhere when you are in one of the parks. So much to see, so much to do and yet I find I want to sit there and absorb it all.
It was fun to really look at the photos that you took in the Back Lot area prop building. I felt rushed in there too. I should have taken more photos so that I could see what I missed!
DHS is my favorite for taking pictures, especially at night.
We did the character drawing class (the free one). They had us draw Donald Duck and then in another class we did Minnie Mouse. It was nice to have a free momento from Disney.
It's fun to have your DW writing too. Looks like you guys had a great time!

We step out side and I can hear Tina’s heart fluttering. What would cause this you might ask? Only the other love of her life…….

You are hilarious!!:rotfl2: No need to be jealous!! ;)

Oh my gosh I did forget mommom and it's funny cause she reminds me of this woman who worked at my grade school growing up. I thought she was just wonderful.:flower3:

I think I saw more of the DHS parade in your pictures than I did when I was there. We had a bad viewing spot. What is it about DHS that made your boys choose that park? I wouldn't think little ones would really enjoy that park. I guess Toy Story Mania would make any age person happy.

I tried to film the video with my camera but ut had lines through the monitor the whole time.....it's better to leave something out for those who haven't seen it though right?

I'd love to do the same. People watching is staring to become a favorite of mine. I'd love to have a whole month at Disney so I could literally just sit around the parks and do nothing but watch and eat......maybe take a picture or two.

Definitely a great time! As many pictures as I took there is still SO MUCH MORE to see. It's crazy isn't it? Next year I'm definitely doing the class, even if it's by myself!

You are hilarious!!:rotfl2: No need to be jealous!! ;)
I'm not jealous......I know I can't compete!

Oh my gosh I did forget mommom and it's funny cause she reminds me of this woman who worked at my grade school growing up. I thought she was just wonderful.:flower3:
Well, she could have been in another life. She is wonderful. She loves her family so much and would go to the ends of the earth for any one of us, and you couldn't ask for a better Grand Mother to your kids. She's the best I could have ever asked for.

LOVING your pics. I always forget to take shots of the little things.
It's so easy to do. This board inspired me from the Trip Reports to the Photography section, there's just so many things that are so easy to pass by and never give them a second look. I can't wait to see what I've missed next year!

Every day we just ask them if they want the Castle, the Ball, or the Magic Hat. Sometimes we would sway them a little if there was something we had planned but mostly it was just them.
About the parade, for next time if you ask a cast member where a good spot is, they will point you in the right direction of where they stop. We were at American Idol but on the other side of the street.

Guys and Gals, I've been away for a few days but I'm working on an update as we speak. After I get all of these pictures uploaded, it will be up ASAP. Thanks for bearing with me!

Let’s see, the last time I did an update we were in the 5th day, the Phillies were up by 1 game and it may have been snowing. Maybe it wasn’t snowing but it feels like a long time ago doesn’t it? I mean, right now the Phils are up 5 ½ for Pete’s sake! Sorry to be taking so long, but like I said before, life has been B-U-S-Y! So, enough of me babbling, lets get on with this report and at least wrap up day 5!

When we left off, we were at Hollywood Studios and saw the parade, the Backlot tour, and Tina’s next husband (David Cook) and we were off to Epcot for some Grub. As much as we didn’t mind walking (we ARE in Disney World after all) we decided that walking to Epcot from The Studios is just a bit far, so we hopped on a ferry and just enjoyed the ride.

There was a few clouds overhead but we weren’t too worried, this is Florida after all and clouds pass over without raining all the time right? I guess not. We walked over to the International Gateway and it started. We pulled out the poncho’s and continued on our way.

We had 5:00 reservations for the Coral Reef but showed up a little early around 4:30. Last year we had dinner here and really liked it so we made it one of the few restaurants we’d do again. We had a few minutes to spare before we were seated so I grabbed a few shots of the lobby area

dis2307.jpg

dis2310.jpg

We were seated in 15 minutes or so and had our order in not too long after. For those who have not yet eaten here yet, your entertainment while eating is a large aquarium that spans one whole wall equipped with fish, turtles, rays, sharks, and even scuba divers. There are divers that come down for maintenance and also as part of an underwater tour. The whole family really enjoys watching everything the whole time we are there and of course, I tried my best to get a few good shots. As dim as it is (and I’m not allowed to set up my little tripod on the dinner table) I think some of them came out not too bad. We were on the upper level but you can request to be near the tanks from what I understand.

I waited till after the main course to take a picture of our booth because, like I said, no food porn!

dis2555.jpg

dis2556.jpg

We finished up around 5:30 and figured the rain would probably have stopped and we’d walk around Epcot. When we got to the desk where we checked in for dinner, the thirty or so people standing there dripping wet told us otherwise. As we walked outside you could barely see anything but rain. People were standing outside upset because they had no reservations and couldn’t get in until 9:00 pm others were trying to get out of the rain and some just couldn’t believe how much rain was coming down on their only day at the parks. We decided to wait and see if it would let up a little but after about 45 minutes we were ready to head back home. Of course as soon as we got back to the Gateway it started to clear up.

We rested our feet for a while and figured we’d catch the Illuminations show since it’s close by and easy to get to. The rain had died off and I was anxious to get some really nice shots of some fireworks. You see, very time we got to see a fireworks show, there was always a problem. Whether it was a timing problem, crowds or a dead camera battery, it seemed like I was cursed. Not this time. We got down to the lake and although there were a good amount of people, I found a spot next to a light post and set up camp. I’d been dying to try out my little gorilla pod which has flexible legs to wrap around poles and things. It works like a tripod but it’s pretty small and folds up easily.

SIDE NOTE: The light posts aren’t all wired properly! While setting up the gorilla pod I got zapped twice!

Anyways, 8:55 and the camera is set up. The kids are playing and no one (except a few palm trees) is blocking my view. Things are looking in my favor. I set the camera to take a picture every 30 seconds with a 4 second exposure time. The pictures are looking pretty good I think
dis004.jpg

and right before the show starts, it rained! Not enough to stop the show but just enough for me to cover my camera so it doesn’t get ruined. Camera covered, check! No problems. I’m thinking everything is good to go. A little into the show and I check to see how the picture are looking on the LCD. Apparently, it’s just not in the cards for me to get a fireworks shot. The humidity has now totally fogged up the lens. I pull it down (stupid light post zapped me again!) and tried a few handheld shots all the while cleaning my lens with the handy little wipes my extremely intelligent wife brought with her. I’m telling you, the woman thinks of EVERYTHING!

I did take about 25 pictures but they are the only ones that came out ½ decent. Oh well, put it on the list for next camera…..I mean next year!

We walked around the Showcase for a while and got held up at the bridge. I never realized that this was actually a drawbridge for the barges to go in and out for the show, so of coarse…..I took a picture of it!

We walked around and sampled some of the different drinks from different countries and just took it all in. Germany is beautiful at night and the fountain just adds to it. I grabbed a few shots and called it a night. Apparently, margaritas makes for blurry pictures…..who’d have known!

So, that’s the end of day five. Thanks for sticking around and being patient with me. I promise to have more up VERY SOON! Have a great night!

P.S. Day 6 we do a little shopping and after dinner catch a parade in the dark!

I do have another update ready I'll be posting in a few minutes, I just want to make sure all the links work.

Friday, June 5th Day 6 of the report. I remember being there saying how it was so nice that we still had so many days left, and yet here I am now thinking how I don’t want this trip report to end. I’m sure I’m enjoying it more than most people reading it. I love Disney, but not just being there. I love the planning and the anticipation of an upcoming trip, and I’m really loving going through all the pictures and remembering the whole experience. I hope the boys will remember even ¼ of all this when they get older.

Oh, yea. Day 6. Time to do a little shopping! On to Downtown Disney! For those out there planning your trip, DON’T DO DOWNTOWN DISNEY ON A FRIDAY! I think everybody in Florida got out of work and went shopping at the same time! The stores were pretty busy but the bus stops were MOBBED on the way back.

We were up a little late that morning, say around 11 or so and arrived downtown just before 1pm.

First stop The Wonderful World of Memories. This place has everything Disney if you are looking to spruce up the Disney room in your house and have more money than you know what to do with. A little pricey for my taste but definitely quality products.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Disney and I love Christmas, I even love watching the Disney Christmas cartoons…..but I can’t decorate my house with Disney Decorations. By trade I am a truck driver at the same place as my Father In Law, and I’d never hear the end of it at work. Nope, it just ain’t gonna happen. BUT, I will take pictures of all the decorations and say how nice everything is!

The girls picked up some odds and ends and us guy watched Christmas cartoons for a while. We stepped out to get our bearings on where everything is and decided that Wolfgang Puck’s would be our next stop. I’ve read some pretty good review’s on the boards and it seemed almost like a table service but for a quick service credit. The food was better than I expected and the pizza was perfect! Wolfgang Puck’s has a philosophy, Eat Live LOVE WELL. And that we did. Of course while we were eating well, the rain started but just as we were ready to leave, it stopped! Perfect timing I’d say!
