YEG via YVR to Disneyland customs question

We usually fly direct to California and go through customs in Edmonton. Next month our first leg is to Vancouver. Do we pick up our luggage in YVR and then clear customs? Any info would be appreciated☺

You will go through customs in YVR. Your first flight from Edmonton will be a domestic flight and then you get to go on a (usually) long walk through the Vancouver airport, see your bags on a little screen and go through customs before flying YVR to LAX! I have done this a few times going to Hawaii and going to Disney and it’s not great but it’s not horrible either. It’s usually a well oiled machine

In our experience doing this flight at least once a year for the past 5 years it’s ALWAYS a LONG walk to customs but the rest of the process is easy as pie.
