Day 5 (Part 2) - Tuesday, November 18, 2003

CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Yecats - Me, myself and I.
Me is Single, 33 (however, other two personalities - myself is about 10 years old and an advid SM freak and the I personality may be about 60 years especially after getting off of the ToT).

Also on board is my new Canon ZR65 Digital Videocamera nicknamed: Handycam, as it was always in my hand.

PLAN FOR THE DAY:
1. Should I return to Epcot? (Part 1)
2. Lunch at the Garden Grill (Part 1)
3. Monorail to Magic Kingdom
4. Mickey's 75th Birthday
5. Cinderella's Royal Table
6. Watching Wishes from Monorail
7. Time to wash laundry (Part 3)
8. Kids flying at Ole Man Island (Part 3)
9. First Mousekeeping note of the week (Part 3)

Oh well time to leave Epcotl. On the way out a character caravan had stopped and dropped off several characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, etc.. So I felt the need to take a few pictures. After 10 minutes decided to leave via the monorail so off off and away.

SPECIAL OCCASION:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICKEY!

I arrived at Magic Kingdom around 3:30 (more or less). There was still a film crew (probably local) at the opening gate where the 75 Mickey Statues are. I walked around and looked at the various Mickeys some of which were tastefully done, some had a fun little attitude about them and some that were, lets just say a few were a little wacked out for my taste. Anyway this was the only special event that the Magic Kingdom had planned. Just a sidenote: Disney celebrates everything else that they possibly can but this is the only thing they did. It just seemed to lack a little something.

After walking around, I went into the Magic Kingdom and waited for the Train. I took the train over to Frontierland and got off. There was a nice little line waiting to ride Splash Mountain so I obtained a FP and decided to go and watch the Country Bear Jamboree as I haven't seen it in years. Alas I walk up but see the sign that says it is being refurbished (for X-mas). Oh well I'll have to see it during the weekend. Over to Adventureland to ride Jungle Cruise and after a 20 minute wait, our cruise boat, Zelda, finally arrived. Many really bad jokes later and off to ride PoC yet once again. At this point I still had a bit of time before my FP for Splash Mountain so I decided to wait out the time at the "Under New Management Tiki Bird Hut". After those darned birds kicked me out I decided, even though my FP time had arrived, to walk up to see where the Family Robinson's lived and did some filming up in that tree as they have some beautiful vistas of the park.

Anyway time to ride Splash Mountain. I walked in about 20 minutes after my Fastpass time began and vertually just walked up on the ride and was placed in the second seat by myself and off the log went. You know I don't know what it is about this ride but everyone comes off laughing and giggling either because they survived the drops and/or they weren't drenched during the big drop. Either way it is everyone's Laughing Place and I get to enjoy a good honest laugh with a bunch of strangers and at absolutely no one else's expense. Those are the best laughs of all and looking around the log confirms we all feel the same way just a bit wetter. Got off and it was time for me to move my but on over to the castle as I have a PS for dinner. However, I glanced over at BTMRR and was saddened. I love those 3 mountains in MK and was upset when I learned that BTMRR was going to be closed during my trip. This is one of those rides that I am willing to glue myself in the seat so no one can ever get me out. Oh well, next trip.

Decided to walk on over to Cindy's and check in. It was about 5:15 at this point. I was instructed to sit in the throne room (of course looked up to see Cindy's mice friends hanging around the rafters). After a few minutes Lady Yecats was called to dinner. I was seated by the window overlooking Fantasyland and had a great view. My waiter was very nice and provided me with some company inbetween working his very full tables. All of a sudden Peter Pan starting banging on my window and then ran around banging on other's windows then Captain Hook chased him around the castle.

TIP:
Definately make a dinner PS if you want to eat dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table.

HISTORICAL NOTE:
I ate here in the late 1990's and it was one of the worst dinning experiences ever at Disney.

So as many years have passed since I last ate here, I decided to try it again. My waiter served me several pretzel breadsticks with butter which were delicious and just like the ones served at Le Cellier (last time here I was served rock hard rolls and frozen Mickey butter that you couldn't cut with a knife). Okay good improvement. I had ordered the Queen Cut primerib which is served with some sort of potatoes which I have to say was very good (last time ordered a New York strip steak which was served cold and potatoes which were cold as well). I left room for dessert and ordered the Bananas Creme Brulee which was served bare minutes later and was soooooo yummy. This trip I had a great experience here even if it did cost me about $35.

Anyway, I was out of Cindy's by 6:15 and the entire park was lining up for Spectromagic. As I had already seen and filmed the parade I decided to walk over to Tomorrowland to see what type of wait time Space Mountain had. The sign said 15 minutes so the Myself personality woke up and ran in. Let just say that the sign was wrong, by the time I ran up the standby line you walked right on - NO ONE WAS IN THE RIDE. OMG do you how many times I had ridden SM from 6:20 to 7:10, 6 times and I was in rollercoaster heaven. I got to ride both sides and by ride #6 had a few kinks in my back so had to stop. As the parade was still passing on Main Street, I ran right on Buzz's Spaceranger Spin and earned $100,000 points. Wow what a night. I came out and decided last minute to ride the TTA. As we passed through the Timekeeper area the last float was passing on Main Street and the crowd was heading back to Tomorrowland. By the time I got off the TTA it was time for me to leave. As I was walking out, a good part of the crowd was leaving as well and the train station area was completely packed with people waiting for Wishes to begin at 7:00.
