Year of Million Dreams -- anyone else get something yet? Post your wishes won here!

Also (this is not a birthday thing) in AK I am not sure what it was but we were on one of the trails and it had the bird find thingy. Me and my brother saw a bird and we said the name a cast member was right next to us and we didn't even notice we were so caught into it. We said the birds name and the cast member said your right that is a ......... my mom heard her the CM say i will be right back. A 2 min later the CM came back. It was a certificate saying that me and my brother were bird watchers of the day.It was pretty exciting! The CM also signed it. It was a first time i got a dream!!:cool1: pixiedust: pixiedust: ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo pluto: :tinker: :donald: :goofy: :mickeyjum

I don't think this is considered a dream but I want to DW(a suprise from my parents) for my B-Day. I was so excited! When I was there I had my birthday pin and my B-Day cake hat. Everybody said happy birthday to me and I felt so special. I got a card from Liberty Tree Tavern that was signed by the charectors and at Chef Micky I got a placemat signed by the charectors also. The thing that made me feel even more special is the GF (the hotel i was staying at) gave me a white chocolate mickey with cookies and it said Happy Birthday Victoria, then there was a card signed by Auora saying happy birthday and a picture of her!I was sooo suprised!!! i still have it in my friedge from november! A few other special things is that I was chosen in the Woody dance thingy to be one of the helpers. I danced with a cowgirl and we switched hats! When we switched the hats back watever woody's horses name is(if anybody knows his name it would be helpful) tried to eat my cake hat! My other special thing was when we were going on the carasal of progress the cm annonced my name and said it was my birthday! It was so amazing! DW makes me feel soo special and they treated me like a princess for my birthday! Its magical!! princess: Go Disney!!!:cool1: :donald: :mickeyjum :tink: :goofy:

Me and my boyfriend (Jon) went for the first time together this past September. On our first full day at the parks, we got up early and headed to (then) MGM. We were there pretty early, so we just sat on a bench until about 20-25minutes before the park opened, then we got in line. We were only in line for about 5 minutes before a jolly, older CM named Tim came up to us and started talking to us about our vacation, what we planned on doing once we got into the park, which ride we were going to first. Rock'n Roller Coaster was closed, so obviously we were headed to the Tower of Terror.

Well, we kept talking for a bit and then Tim asked us if we'd like to help open the park! Of course we said yes! So we put our tickets through the turnstiles and whatnot and went inside the park. Then Tim walked us to where the rope was and sat us on a bench. He gave us each an "Honorary Citizen of Walt Disney World" pin and told us what our roles were going to be in the opening "show" and that once it was over, we were going to be driven down Sunset Blvd. to the Tower of Terror, to ride before the rest of the park got there!

It was amazing! We said our lines in the skit, and then the lady driving (what Tim told us was once one of Walt Disney's personal cars) took us to the entrance to ToT, where Tim was waiting for us, recording us on our video camera that he got from us before the show. Then Tim walked us through the queue and saw us onto the ride.

Once the ride was over and the doors opened, Tim was there waiting on us again! He walked us down the exit hallway so that we could see our ride photo. Me and Jon just started talking about how we HAD to get this souvenir when Tim told us that we didn't have to! He was going to give us either two 5x7s or one 8x10 for FREE!!

Once we got our picture (an 8x10), Tim walked us out of the gift shop and told us that he was going to hold onto the picture for the day, and that we would be able to go to Guest Relations on our way out of the park to pick it up.

When we went to pick up our picture, it was inside a Year of a Million dreams envelope, with two magical moment certificates and a personal note, written by Tim, wishing us a magical vacation!

Our Magical Moment was "Disney-MGM Family of the Day, September 28, 2007."

It was such an amazing day. :flower3:

wOW. i actually get tears in my eyes reading some of these.
I can't wait to take my little prince for his 6th bday in Dec
I hope we get a dream!!!!!!

This December will be our 3rd trip during the YOMD, first during December:santa: . Not to sound too whiney or a sense of entitlement, but we have not been at the right place at the right time. Everywhere we went, we saw people with Special FastPasses and other YOMD stuff. We met tons of people with stories too. Kidos are 5&7 and have no idea what YOMD is, so not a big deal. We just go on our marry way and have the time of our lives...must not be looking for the stuff.
This is why we DON'T play the lotto or gamble. :goodvibes
Maybe the Dream Teams :grouphug: see how magical of a time we are having already and know that we are already on Cloud 9!
The place is so magical, we don't need anything else.:tinker:

Just got back Tuesday from a long weekend trip. This was our third during the celebration but had never won anything. On Saturday coming out of Haunted Mansion, we got Dream Ears. Wore them proudly all day long.

How do you subscribe? my family of 5 just booked our tickets for the end of august for our 1st WDW vacation!! I dont know what I should be doing for the year of a Million Dreams!

I dont understand your question. Are you asking how to subscribe to win something during the YOAMD? Theres no subscribing. Its all out of pure luck and timing to win something at the parks. You can also sumbit an entry through the mail to win something by mail, but thats it.

I'm a little late posting this...we were at WDW in JAN 2008, and we received a few "dreams"---

Hollywood Studios - we got dream fastpasses when we went in to see MuppetVision 3-D.

Animal Kingdom - At the end of the day when we were folding our strollers, we realized a CM had placed a small "dream" certificate inside the net bag hanging off the stroller---it said we were the "most prepared family for a 2 week safari"---I think because it was a cloudy day and I had rain covers on both strollers, ponchos, rain pants, and an umbrella. I always overpack. :thumbsup2

Magic Kingdom - Liberty Square - Christmas Shoppe - The CM let my sons decorate the Christmas tree near the register, then put their names at the top of the tree and gave them each a certificate with their names on it.

Not an official dream - in MK, Frontierland, the CM let the boys each pick out a rock in the rock bin for free. Also, for Woody's Round-up, my son (who was in a Woody costume) got to dance with Woody throughout most of the "round-up"....definitely a magical moment for us. :wizard:

I went to Disney as a birthday present from my aunt and grandmother for my 9th birthday. Had a fabulous time - my first ride on an airplane too! Had fun on Space Mountain and at Epcot as well.

How has Epcot changed since the mid eighties when I was there? What are the most interesting features of the park now. Thanks in advance for your help!

The first time I went to Epcot was also in the 80's (1983, I think) I didn't make it back for 15 years and there were alot of changes in that time, and since then. Epcot is actually one of our favorite parks. DD8's too! :goodvibes

I don't want to hijack this thread so briefly there's Test Track, Soarin', more lands, The Living Seas with Nemo and friends, the grounds, Illuminations (changed since 80's), etc. Innoventions, East and West, etc. If you post your question on the Resorts thread, you'll get even more info. Have a great time!

ADDED-and in keeping with the theme-Last Sept. we didn't receive any official dreams. Never saw the Dream Team either. DD did get one of those special tink pins, one to keep, one to give, when we had a ride malfunction on TT. But, we've now received a few Dreams over the last few months at DLR. Dream FP twice, extra hour in the park DCA, and hats. I think they may be giving more out (at least that's what the DLR commerical says!)

I won the dual Disneyland/Disney World High School Musical 3 Premiere Vacations on 3/12/08 at 2:44pm at the Winnie The Pooh ride. First Car exiting, first row, first seat.....

To be honest I had never heard of the Year of a Million Dreams contest until I was shuffled off to a private office for the paperwork and forms.

I am sad to say that I was a little rude starting out because I thought they were trying to hard sell me a timeshare!!! Boy was I wrong.

My 3 year old and her 7 year old cousin will have a blast in both California and Florida.

:woohoo:

Congratulations!!! How very exciting for your family!! :dance3:

We (DW, DD10, DD14 and me DH) went in December 2007 (I know this is a little late for the post) for 10 days.

We won dream fastpasses twice - Once in Tower of Terror (MGM) and once in Test Track (Epcot). :thumbsup2

My daughter Kayla got to open Animal Kingdom. The whole family got to walk the rope and then we got 1st row seats for the Safari. In addition as we were getting off we got a fastpass for Everest as that was our orginal destination anyway. :thumbsup2

Kayla also got given a duplicate set of pins at the entrance to Star Wars. The idea is to keep one and give the other away - which she did.i :thumbsup2
She also got a certificate for kindness at the Seas pavillion.:thumbsup2

I must tell you that Kayla our youngest who is 10 had a go at me before we went to say that the chances of us winning anything our practically zero and so she is not going to get her hopes up. She admits that she had to eat her words. :rotfl2:

Anyway the biggest dream for us is that we have just decided to go back this year in December 2008! :cool1:

Has anyone won anything in the mail lately? At one point it seemed people were winning the ears and lanyards, including myself, but I haven't read of anyone winning anything in the mail. I wonder if it's worth mailing in the postcards anymore, maybe they stopped giving out prizes through the mail:confused3
