Year of a million dreams - UK Residents CAN win

I'm with you Paul.

I'm sending my DH out tomorrow to buy a big stack of postcards and some stamps. (LOTS of stamps) :goodvibes

WARNING

I've just read the T & C's and if you read carefully, if you are resident of the US, Canada, United Kingdom you are NOT eligable to enter the competition, so don't waste your money on postcards and stamps!

Right, that should have got rid of the competition...now to buy all those postcards and stamps. :teeth:

Is it a draw a day or one huge draw at the end of the year?

There will be a random selection everday to decide where the prizes are going to be awarded:

For each prize or Batch of prizes, the Sponsor must first randomly select the pool of entrants from which a winner or winners will be selected. The randomly selected pool of entrants for a particular prize or Batch of prizes will be either: (i) the pool of mail-in entrants received that day; or (ii) the individuals visiting a location that is randomly selected that day from among the many locations within the Disney Properties suitable for that prize or Batch of prizes. When there is a prize that will be redeemed at a specific Disney Property on the day it is awarded, only locations at that Disney Property, plus the pool of applicable mail-in entries, will be included in the random selection.

Then:

If, on any given day, a location in a Disney Property is randomly selected: a time for awarding of the prize will also be randomly selected.

Or:

If, on any given day, the mail-in entry pool is randomly selected: the winner(s) of the applicable prize(s) will be determined at random from among all eligible mail-in entries received on the applicable day.

So it seems either way you (or your card) have to be in the right place, at the right time, on the right day.

How long does this go on, do I need 365 postcards then :bitelip:?
Because if it got me a DVC with dues paid, well..it would be worth it!! Course I'd probably get a pin or something, if that haha!

Hands off Kristina! - that DVC membership is mine, all mine Mwahhhh! (evil laugh)

and can you all stop dreaming about that DVC prize because it already has my name written alllll over it he he

Can anybody tell me where they get their 3"X5" postcards? The ones I have are all 3.5"x5.5". It might not seem much but I can just imagine getting disqualified on a technicality. I suppose I can always cut them down.

uk saint, mine are the same-i bought a book of postcards from partners and measured them when i got home.

Do you think this is some kind of fix to make sure us Brits can't win????
Do they make postcards slightly smaller in America?????

I DEMAND AN ENQUIRY :rotfl:

I read on another board that it is probably a typo as the US postal service minimum size is 3.5 by 5. I just checked the USPS website and that is right so you should be fine.

OK, Time to get sending those postcards then. Good Luck All! :thumbsup2

More here about how prizes will be awarded:
"Completely random. Completely unbiased. Completely luck of the draw," Potrock said. "What we created was a mathematical model, a randomizer, that will select the different dream giveaways each and every day. "It gets into detail like, it'll be the fourth person to walk through the exit of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at 3:01 p.m.," he said, describing a hypothetical selection. "And we've even gone so far as to say, if two people are walking through the doorway at the same time, it's the person on the left." Winners will be split between those visitors who show up on Disney properties, and those who send in postcard entries. To avoid spontaneous scenes of envy and disappointment among nearby people, major prizewinners won't be told what they won on the spot. "We're not going to announce that in front of hundreds of other people who were so close," Potrock said. "We're going to celebrate later in the day by putting those people in as grand marshals in the parades."

I am surprised that no-one has spotted or commented on this prize yet:-

Starting at the end of January 2007, three hundred and seven (307) ONE-NIGHT STAYS AT CINDERELLA CASTLE SUITE are available: AEach prize consists of a ONE-NIGHT STAY ON THE NIGHT PRIZE IS AWARDED for winner and up to five (5) guests at the Cinderella Castle Suite in the Magic Kingdom® Park. Prize includes: dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table, photos with Cinderella, VIP viewing for SpectroMagic and/or Wishes shows (subject to availability) and select snacks and non-alcoholic beverages in the room. Each winner may also be celebrated in the Magic Kingdom® Park daytime parade (at Sponsor's sole discretion). ARV of each prize: US$587.
I thought that place was just a myth - like Eldorado - but they've finally done it - they have finished off Walt Disney's own personal suite in the Castle. And it looks like it will cost $587 per night. Can I join the queue to book for it now!

I'm a bit confused about this whole thing TBH. I take it is lasting for a year and there will be a prize given away every day which will be picked from either one
of the resort guests one of the park guests or one of the postcard entries?

I am going next year from 17th sept until 1st october so will this still be on.

It does sound as though the odds of winning are pretty low though as you have to be in the right park or resort on the right day and then be up against all the thousands of other people there the same day.

Still might send in a few postcards though

The giveaway period is 1st October 2006 to 31st December 2007 so yes it will still be on.

Apparently the odds of winning are 1 in 60.

OMG, DH and I were just talking about this on the way to work and were wondering how many THOUSANDS of £'s it would be, so $587 is pretty much a bargain! Now if we could win just a medium amount on the Lotto or something we could book it for a night after our vow renewal at the pavilion next year. Just remembered, it a super draw tomorrow night - better get a lucky dip!!!

Odds of 60:1 is pretty reasonable really and as they say 'you have to be in it to win it' so get sending those postcards.

Wow, i'd be happy with just a pin or something. How amazing would a night in the castle be though.. :cloud9:
