We are going Friday for a week for my husband's work. We are Disney-a-holics usually, but this was just an added reason for me to tag along. I'm a bit nervous because we've always stayed concierge and this time we were supposed to be staying in a standard YC room. I haven't stayed at the YC, but we were planning to as we're making our way around the resorts. I've been so spoiled by AKL and Poly concierge that I'm a bit leary of this stay not being as special as the other.

This morning I found out we've been moved from the YC to the BC due to overbooking at the YC. I did not like the BC resort as much when we visited YC/BC. Will I be unhappy in a standard BC room? Would I have been happier in a standard YC room? Help! I'm nervous.

I've stayed at both YC and BC and love them both - actuallly prefer BC to YC as far as colors go, like the pastels slightly better than the darker colors;) . The rooms themselves are comparable to each other at both resorts though -- I would however put in a request for a full balcony at BC. That's the one thing BC lacks compared to YC. At YC all the rooms come with a full balcony whereas at BC only some of the rooms come with a full balcony. Many have just a standing room only balcony/platform.

I can't speak about staying concierge as we have yet to try it but the rooms themselves are nice at both resorts. Hope you have a wonderful time!!:D

That just happened to my dad! I wonder if it's the same meeting...

I'm not worried about him, because I doubt he'll be in the room much. My mom isn't going with him, which is a shame because she would love SAB!

The beach club rooms were recently renovated and it should be very nice. I'd also advise asking for a full balcony. Or a 1 BR at the BC villas, lol!

I am getting ready to fax my room request for BC.

Here's what I'm requesting at this point:

1. Non smoking
2. Water View
3. Full balcony

Is there anything else I should be requesting? Does the BC have king beds? Its just my husband and myself this time.

Does anyone have the fax number for BC that I should send the requests to?

TIA for your help!

Does your dad happen to be a partner in a large accounting firm?

Sure is a funny coincidence! :)

Yes, BC does have King beds! We stayed in a King bed room the first time we stayed - and had a full balcony with that room too!

The view was not water view though, it was kind of a woodsy view - not sure if they offer them with water view but doesn't hurt to ask when you request it! Good luck!
