I currently have a garden view concierge room booked at the Yacht Club. I'm just wondering if anyone has any info about these rooms, since our only other concierge experience was at Animal Kingdom Lodge where the room was bigger than the standard.

Can anyone tell me if these rooms are the same size as the regular rooms (2 queens plus day bed)? Are we guaranteed to be close to the concierge lounge or could this just be any garden view room with access to the lounge? Thanks for any info anyone can provide!

The concierge rooms at the YC are the same as standard YC rooms (which are fairly roomy). They are all on one floor where the YC concierge is.

We had a water view room, and frankly I don't think I'd pay for water view at the YC again, it was so blocked by trees I didn't see all that much.

Enjoy!

We had a water view concierge room last October.

It had an awesome view! We could see the Boardwalk, part of Epcot and most of Illuminations and parts of SAB. It was room 5229.

I was impressed with the size of the room. It had 2 queens and a daybed.

Here's a map of the fifth floor concierge......CLICK HERE !

On it, you can "Zoom" in on the numbers.
We had a Water view room # 5185....nice view of the water, on the corner, quiet, had a King bed and daybed
(if you need that info)!

We currently have a GV YC concierge booked, couldn't get an AP rate for the Waterview.
but, I'm not worried, the YC concierge is nice, and you'll be pampered by Travis!:teeth:

I'm also going to bump up the "Bitten by the Concierge Bug" thread, because there's some other good info on that, too!

BTW....when are you going?
You might even get a WV upgrade if it's available.:sunny:

We had room #5183. Beautiful view of the Lake and Boardwalk!! Two queen beds and a day bed. Had 5 people in the room--me, DH, DS(15), DF(15), DS(2). Didn't feel crowded at all. The day bed is quite comfortable. The balcony was wonderful. The room was also not too far from the lounge or elevators. The staff was wonderful. Travis was nice....so was Sami, Theresa, and Betty. You'll love this place. Enjoy!

Just so you know we had GV conceige back in 2001 and the room did not have a day bed. Not that we missed it. Our view overlooked the entrance to the YC, not great but we weren't in the room a whole lot.

We had a gardenview concierge room. It was number 5154 and we had a lovely view of the wedding gazebo. :D We were celebrating our anniversary on the trip so it seemed like a perfect view to have. It was very quiet, peaceful and beautiful!:D :D

wdwfan...what was the bedding in your room?
I had put in my request for that section because it's so close to the lounge, too!;)

So many questions-
Are there designated YC Concierge-Non-Smoking Rooms (GV)
or are they all non-smoking now?
What amenities come with the room?
Does Concierge do pre-trip planning (PS etc)
and how would you contact them?
Is there a separate checkin? (I've read that it wasn't
available sometimes?)

We had separate check-in. It was wonderful. We received a mailing from concierge several weeks before our reservation with an access key for the elevator to 5th floor in it. Just use it and go straight up. No waiting and everything was ready for us, even the room at 10:00 am on July 4th. I know this probably doesn't happen every time, but I was feeling the pixie dust.;) I don't know about the non-smoking/smoking rooms, we always request NS. YES! Concierge will do pre-trip planning and this was one of the things I enjoyed most. Amy Jacobson is one of the iteneray planners for YC/BC and Boardwalk. She's wonderful. I got a letter from them and then just called the number on the letter. You can however call the front desk at YC and ask for the planning office and they will connect you. (I left the number at home one day and wanted to call from work.) They'll book cruises, dinners, and even request special seating for you. (window seat at Les Chefs de France) Amy made the excitement of the upcoming trip even more so. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the YC. We went during a very busy time and still felt pampered.

YES!

I'm not sure-we usually get a NS room, but DH has been known to step out on the balcony and have his smoke, when it doesn't interfer with other neighbors.
What amenities come with the room?
All the regular concierge "trappings"!

Yes, they do, and when you make your concierge ressie, I would suggest asking for the number right then so you could call them!

We made our ressie last week, and have already received our pre-planning pack, a call from Planning, and in the pack, is a special "roomcard" for special concierge access to the elevator!
Last August, though, we made last minute ressies, and didn't receive the "roomcard". No problem, valet took us up personally!
::yes::

Also, on my "Bitten by the Concierge Bug" thread, which I'll bump up, are a couple of links about YC concierge amenities!:teeth:

BambyTamby, room 5154 had 2 queen beds and a daybed. I have a family of 4. :D I loved our stay, but I think we may try BWI concierge deluxe this summer. :sunny:

Many thank yous, wdwfan!

We've decided to take one of DS's best friends, and our count just went up to 4.

I'll put in my request tomorrow!

I want to try BWI concierge also!
Just wasn't able to do it on this coming trip!
No rooms at the Inn! ;)

Again, thanks!

We booked a couple of weeks ago-how long should I wait before I contact them?

We stayed in a garden room YC concierge in Sept 2002. Our room was right ove the entrance to the resort--one of the rooms that connects to the huge balcony up front. We could see the road leading up to the resort and tree. We really liked the room. Very close to the lounge and we really liked having the huge balcony. There was never anyone else out there.

You can contact them at any time. I did this myself for my BC ressie. They didn't have all my info, so they couldn't contact me. If your concerned, don't wait. They have been making PSs for me this week. I emailed them and they responded to me in less than an hour. Lauren and Amy have been very helpful. They have been sending periodic emails to keep me informed of PSs that they have made. I was also sent the gold card (access card for elevator) once they had all of my info.

Have a great trip!

those are the rooms that are to your right when you stand outside on the concierge lounge balcony, correct?

Noticed those on our last trip in August, and DH remarked if they were shared by several rooms, and the balcony seemed so nice, cool, quiet, and HUGE!

thanks for the tip!

Can anyone provide email or phone #'s for me. I'm worried about
PS's too since we are there over Easter and it looks like it will be plenty busy!

mom_rules

I sent you a PM with the info.

Have a great trip.
