We are going to be staying at the Yacht Club concierge level in about 2 weeks......does anyone know if they have bottles of water you can take a couple with you to the parks during the day? It seems like I read that on these boards but I can't find that post now. If not, I want to plan a trip to the Wal-mart or grocery before we get there so we can each take at least one in the morning with us. Has anyone stayed here lately? I've also considered the Brita bottles everyone is talking about but I've never seen one and was wondering if they are heavy to carry around or are they just like a plastic water bottle?

Thanks!

Denise

When we were there last November they only had the large glass water bottles that would be very hard to carry to the park. I don't understand why they wouldn't have the smaller plastic bottles when other concierges have them. I've always wondered about that...??????

Has anyone been more recent than November 2002 and has it changed??

Jill

Nope. Just back last week, same deal - large bottles of Vitel water. Im sure they pay atleast $2-3 a bottle for them...it would be a heck of a lot cheaper for Zephyrhills...but I think they wont deal with Disney since they switched to that Dasani stuff.
:o ~Which BTW I CAN'T STAND!! I would rather drink the tap water!~:o

So do you (mousehut101 and JESW) recommend that we stop and buy water bottles and ice them down in our room or just get the Britta things? I am taking DH and 3 teens who drink a lot of water here at home and I know they will want to there, especially with the heat. I think the Britta thing sounds good but I worry that the water won't "taste" good enough for them since we have excellent tap water here at home and they always complain about the water when we go to other parts of Florida. Have either of you used the Britta filter bottles there? Thanks!

Denise

We were there last August and they only had the large bottles then as well.

The Britta bottles are like a sports bottle. Lightweight, and the same bottle straps that work for any sports bottle work for them as well. You can find them in Wal-MArt, most grocery stores. They are about $10 each.

I can still taste the "swampiness" in the water even after I filter it, DH says it takes enough out that the water is fine for him.

I have never used the Britta bottles so I can't answer that. Another suggestion - and what we do - get the big bottles from concierge and then fill your water bottles with them.

Jill

One caveat with the Brita bottles- don't use hot water by accident!! One time I accidentally filled one with warm-to-hot water, and it melted the filter stuff, and the water was full of grey particles, and every fill after that was like that, couldn't use the filter again.

You can buy refill filters for the brita bottles as well.

I didn't know they fell apart in hot water. Ewwwww... that must have been a not-so-pleasant suprise! :(

Yes, I actually drank a little bit before I realized, and thought, "Eww, this is hot water and tastes funny...", and then looked inside....
