Ok- Let me start by saying that this is my first attemot at a trip report, but I so enjoy everyone else's I figured I'd try my hand!!
Alright, let me start with the background fort his trip, then I will get to the cast of characters.
The planning for this trip began in November, just after we returned from a trip to the World with my parents and younger sister. Last year, we had unfortunately been suckered into purchasing a "trial" deal with Fairfield at Bonnett Creek, where they gave us a ton of there points to use within a year for a "very cheap price" Anyway, we took one trip with these points last summer, and decided that it wasn't for us, but we have the extra points to use up so that is where this trip comes in-
Actually, while on that Fairfield visit we toured at Saratoga Springs and Loved it, and eventually, just this past January, we purchased DVC. I have been SO excited to use it and already have trips scheduled for July and october using our points. but hubby said we have to use our Fairfield points up before we can use the DVC!
OKay, so the trip is planned, no room at Bonnett Creek, as we are apparantly going at a VERY busy time according to the people at the Fairfield reservation place. (March 22-29) My husband is Active Duty in the Army, so we can only take leave when they say we can take leave! Anyway, we end up with a room at Fairfield Cypress Palms- which I'm sure will be nice, but not Disney- So I am excited about the trip, because we will be in Disney World, and I am, above all a Disney Lover. I am not, however, as excited as I usually am because of the Fairfield Factor, we will not be onsite, and it just won't be the same!
I PROMISE I am coming to the reason for the name of this post!!
So my husband, got a look at his March Schedule two days ago and he is scheduled to be on a trip to Tampa the week before our Fairfield trip begins. He is scheduled to arrive home 3 days before his leave begins- but his schedule has him OFF for all three of those days! so he says to me- why don't you see if you can get us a room using the DVC points and I will just drive up from Tampa and you can meet me in Disney EARLY!!
Now, a little background, my husband loves Disney, but he knows that for me, my family vacation and the time we spend in Disney is the ULTIMATE! Not to mention my enjoyment of the planning!
So, I call this morning after he was sure that he could extend his leave just to check on the availability of a Studio for the nights of the 18th -22 figuring there would be nothing after hearing the horror stories from other DVC'ers about last minute bookings. I did not have to wait on hold at all, and the nice lady at Member Sevices found me a Studio at Saratoga Springs for all of the nights I wanted!! Now- I was not going to be picky, I would have taken any studio- I would have even moved Three times just to be able to go!!
I add on the Dining plan for those 4 nights just because I figure the hotel is paid for why not try it? The kids will certainly enjoy it! So now I am oficially WAY too excited for this trip to come in 26 days!!
I hope that I have not bored all of you to death with this LONG introduction, I will try not to be so long winded inthe future!
