:goodvibes  I'm just so happy to share - it adds to my Disneyland planning thrills to know that we're spending less on our car (which of course will mean that we'll somehow spend more IN Disney). Anyway, they didn't accept it a few weeks ago when I tried before, but I tried now and they took it so YAY! :dance3:

YAY! We don't rent, we drive so we have a car but then we just leave it at our hotel.....LOL

OH, sorry, sure! We got a fullsize car at SNA for 5 days for $100. The lowest regular rate I could find was $145, and Hotwire had it for $115.

wow! I am paying 250.00 for a week!!!! of course, that is out another city. we are driving to Anaheim from very southern Oregon (about 30 miles to the boarder!).
How long does it take to find out if they accept your offer???

Thanks!

It was pretty instantaneous this time - I filled out all the stuff (of course, with Priceline we paid as soon as they accepted it, which we wouldn't have with a regular reservation) and in about 2 minutes, the screen came back saying it was accepted. The last time I tried (a month ago maybe?) the screen came back saying to check my email to see if it was accepted, and the email came saying it was not. I probably wouldn't have done it if I hadn't seen the better price at Hotwire, which convinced me to TRY to get even lower with Priceline. It certainly can't hurt to try, as long as your current reservation is cancellable (I think most regular car rentals are) and you don't care which company you go with (they only do big names - we got Budget).

I find getting a rent a car from priceline into long beach a lot cheaper then other airports.

I can get an economy car into long beach through priceline for 15-18 bucks a day.

Im flying into burbank tomarrow and can't get nothing haven't for months. They want like a good chance 31 bucks a day no way would I pay that for an economy.

But i found buget rent a car website for 22 bucks a day I booked it but will try priceline one more time to see if I can get cheaper.

So I guess it is where you fly into.

Yeah, I'm sure it has a LOT to do with where you're picking up, as that's what leads to availability. This is our first time renting a fullsize car - we've always done economy, but need a little more room with a DC. I've paid $15/day before for economy, so I figure $15/day for fullsize was good enough for us. :)

Ahhhh! I feel so dumb! I can not figure out how to "name your own price"!!!! I click on the little link that says, pick your own price... or something like that and it just gives me a list of prices??!! What am I doing wrong??

Thanks;)

I'm not sure... when I put in all my info on the first page, it takes me to a list of prices with various companies. Then I click on the left top section of the list or the very top "Name Your Own Price. Start Now" button. At the next page, I reenter all my information for what I want, and then at the bottom enter a price. At the next page, it'll confirm all of your details (and maybe say that your price is not likely to be selected, which mine said when I did it, but was still accepted, so I guess that's not always the rule) and then you enter all your credit card info. At THAT page is when you click the "buy" button at the bottom, which says that if a company accepts the price you entered (and they confirmed on that screen), you will immediately be charged for the rental and it's not cancellable and all that. After that page is when they'll tell you if it's accepted (or if you need to check your email).

I hope that helps - I don't use Priceline too often, so I'm not 100% sure on everything.

I always give Hotwire a try if I don’t have any luck with Priceline. I often go there first anyway because it also gives me an idea of the price to offer on Priceline. They often have really good prices.

*Your offer price does not include vehicle liability, collision or personal accident coverage for your rental car. You should determine if you have insurance coverage prior to pick-up. Additional insurance can be purchased at the rental counter.

You should check your own auto insurance; our plan covers us for other cars we drive....including rental cars.

You must be picking up your car in Medford? Do you live close to there? Just curious as I am in Mount Shasta, just south of there. :)
