Yay packers!

Rather than the comments reflecting on Packers fans (which I am not one) I think it reflects more poorly on the experiences that people have had with Steelers fans. That's all.

I'm just sharing my experience. It's not my fault your fellow fans have been jerks in any situation I've ever been in. I didn't say YOU were a jerk. I've never even met you. Don't be so sensitive

Not all Steeler fans are jerks and I'm not being sensitive. I came on here to congratulate what I thought was a great team and a great bunch of fans. Since IMOP, Packers fans come from a similar background and have alot of history with their team as does the Steelers.
And what I find is a bunch of rude condescending comments about our team and fans, Kind of puts a different perspective on things.

WOOHOO! Go Pack Go! I love my Packers. Steelers fans, good game - you had me extremely nervous (okay, screaming at my TV) many times.

Super Bowl Champions! WOOOOO!!

I get what you are saying but if you were to review the comments made, you will notice that most of them are not from "actual" Packer fans--those of us from Green Bay!

Just so we're clear, those "nasty" comments came from people who anti-Steelers, but not actual Packers fans. As much as I love people to root for my team, I don't want them to portray us in a negative light- that's not the Packer spirit. I don't want them to become "fans" for one game- and for the sole reason being they dislike the other team (just as you had the bears and vikings "cheering" for you today).

I have utmost respect for Steelers players and fans. Packers and Steelers fans are the most loyal, friendly, and educated about the game of any teams in the league bar none. Packers players did not take one cheap shot the entire game because they wanted to beat you fair and square, even with multiple starters on the bench. I don't think we'll be hearing about after-game beat downs as we did after the NFC title game..

You guys had a great season and nothing to be ashamed of. Take this energy and frustration into next season and get even stronger. I don't think we could have played this sort of game against a better team, really. Let us enjoy the moment and our ability to overcome SO much adversity this year.

To other posters: Is anyone else making the trek to Lambeau for Return to Titletown?? I'm psyched :banana:

Ummm spelling! :rolleyes1

Wow ! :sad2:

Can't even say anymore.

I came on here to congratulate you Packers fans but after reading these comments, I'm just going to :sad2: and go to bed.
I hope this isn't the representation of all Packers fans. Nice!

If you would even look at their comments --- you would notice that most were not Packer fans, but rooting for them because of Ben. He is an idiot!!

The Packers played a much better game. Congrats Pack!!!:cool1:

I think they are a great team with great fans. IMO most of the rude comments are coming from people not even in Green Bay.

IMHO there were a lot of people who wanted to see the Packers win for no other reason than to see Ben lose (true Packers fans excluded). And regardless of how good a QB he might be, he did that to himself, to his team, to our city. And we're gonna have to suck it up as long as he's a Steeler. What those people forget though, it that Ben is not the team, he's one member of it. And a lot of those players are stand-up guys. And the organization is still a stand-up organization. And a couple of obnoxious Steeler fans aren't representative of all of us.

At any rate, this thread isn't about the Steelers so I apologize to Packer's fans for hijacking.

This is your moment. You earned it. And again, congratulations. You absolutely deserve it! It hurts as a Steelers fan to lose but it takes the sting out a little bit losing to such a great team!

I came here to congratulate the Packers and Packers fans too but I will say that it's sad that some people are using this thread to tear down another team and their fans. Whatever ONE player did or didn't do, he is not the whole team or the whole Steeler nation. Why take away from the pleasure that the Packers feel right now just to push an agenda?

By the way, I live close to Dallas and I feel quite safe but thanks for the concern. :sad2:

Has nothing to do with Steeler fans just about a bunch of drunk obnoxious students,
But I just watched the news and none of the stations reported any couch burning or obnoxious behavior anywhere.

I agree, they are not who a Steeler fan is.... And as you know, I am a Browns fan. We in the Cleveland area also suffered the same biased BS media propaganda when they showed "ONE" location in all of N.E. Ohio burning a few Lebron jerseys last year and making it out to be the whole city was in the streets burning them. Not true at all. Media sensationalism at it's finest.

I will say this and attempt to be unbiased. I have gone to many Steeler-Browns games for almost 30 years since I was 18 and will say that I have rarely found Steeler fans (In Pittsburgh that is) to be jerks. Sure the fun ribbing for wearing the Browns colors, but it's always been in fun.

However, I will have to say this: Many, "so called" Steeler fans outside of the Pittsburgh area who have jumped on the bandwagon (not the true fan) can and often are an embarrassment to the true Steeler Nation fan. They can and often are very arrogant and show their true poor sportsmanship in victory and as I have seen where I live in the heart of football country, right here in Canton Ohio ( I live 5 miles from the HOF) just how poor they are in defeat.

roliepolieoliefan, please note, I know that you are a true Steeler fan and we recently have had some good clean fun jabbing at each other, and in no way do I feel you are an example of being a bad fan, nor place you in the above mentioned group. As a Steeler fan you have much to be proud of. And as a Browns fan, this is a hard thing to say. :lmao: May my Browns go 2-0 next year against the Steelers. :goodvibes

With that said, congratulatons to the Green Bay Packers for a big win. And congrats to the Steelers for their tradition of excellence and once again getting to the big show. Both are great franchises, and both teams, cities, and their TRUE fans have much to be proud of. Great game.... And for you Packer fans, Brett who?????? ;)

Agreed. I don't care about either of these teams but our city is filled with Steelers fans and I have yet to meet one who wasn't an obnoxious so and so. So all I wanted was for them to lose, so I wouldn't have to hear them gloating all day tomorrow.

Couldn't agree more with this statement.:thumbsup2 I've lived in 6 different states and the steelers fans have been the same in every one.

We are a happy state this morning!! It was an exciting game for all of the fans. Pittsburgh has a great team.

GO PACKERS!!!!!:thumbsup2

Congrats to the Packers! :yay: I am in the NFC after all, so have to root for them when it comes down to it!!!
