*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

Well, the insane planning was worth it, and we got every single FP+ we wanted (as well as an unexpected bonus MFSR in the evening on our arrival day) at pretty much all the times we wanted including MMRR, MFSR x2, SDD, FoP, TSM, and 7DMT (and wife-favorite ToT x4).

Had our list prioritized by individual critical FPs first (regardless of date) and then filling in the rest in chronological order. My wife and I hopped on our respective computers, and jumped it at 7 AM EST on the dot. We divided up the list between us, which allowed us to work in parallel and reduced the time it took us to get everything booked. It also allowed us to use multiple strategies, with me starting with the critical rides while she started with the non-critical rides on the earliest date.

So after all the worrying and the planning, it was as successful as I could have imagined.

Good luck to all those with upcoming FP+ days!

Edit: Forgot to mention that I also took screenshots of all our FP+ for reference, and for proof just in case there's any more glitches.

Happy 60 days out to my fellow May peeps! FPs are secured, and the wife and I got everything we planned for (helps being a party of two), and we'll have Park Hoppers each day. Here is our "plan" for our honeymoon trip:

May 2 - arrive at WDW with dinner at Terralina in DS.
May 3 - HS - FPs for RnR (9 a.m.), ToT (10:20 a.m.) and MFSR (3:15). We will be rope dropping for boarding passes to Rise and, if all goes to plan, wait in a short standby line for SDD at park open. Lunch at Sci-Fy at 1 sandwiched – pun intended — in between.
May 4 - AK - We will be here early for EMH in the morning - FPs for EE (9:15) Safari (11:50) and FoP (2:10) - dinner at Boma at 5.
May 5 - EPCOT - Chef Mickey's at 7:20 a.m. - FPs for Soarin' (9:50) Mission Space (11:40) and The Land (2:55). EMH from 9-11 that night will allow for a break during the day. Hopefully can get The Land FP earlier, to give us more flexibility.
May 6 - MK - FPs for SM (9:05), Haunted Mansion (10:25) and Splash (11:50). Really looking forward to this day because of EMH at night from 9-11 and all of our FPs are in the morning, which, hopefully, means we can do the refresh strategy and ride a lot throughout the day.
May 7 - HS to start and MK to end - FPs ToT (9:35), RnR (11:35) & MMRR (2:45 - trying to get this earlier, but it's a lot to ask), then to MK to make more FPs and end out trip. We'll also try to get a boarding group for Rise in the morning.

Now that the FPs are made I'm even more excited about this trip, especially will all the flexibility with mostly morning FPs. Let me know what you think, and looking forward to reading about everyone else's trip!

Yeah I thought availability was great across the board. Some we specifically wanted in the afternoon but there were plenty of morning times there (I remember FOP in particular). The new DHS rides were a little tighter but that’s to be expected. Got SDMT twice on consecutive days with no issues (60+2 and 60+3)

We scheduled a lot of late morning and early evening FP this trip because we’re changing up our plans from our usual style of rope drop to afternoon break with evening returns. We’re doing a lot of late morning arrivals, later breaks, possibly not going back in the evening, etc. That’s why we wanted a longer trip, so we could go at a slower pace with more time to enjoy the resort.

I'm happy to hear so many people having success - I hope it keeps up for all the other May people in this thread.

And yes, I took screenshots of everything as well, once I was satisfied. I figured it couldn't hurt.

You guys are making me anxious for my FP day tomorrow!! I hope there are still some good times left. I have an extra set of hands helping me book so i'm hoping we can get everything fairly quick. I will be using my macbook and iphone as i usually do, and the other person will just have their phone. How was BTM times looking? I'm arriving the last day it operates so i'm hoping to snag one for that Sunday at some point.
I hoped that our posts would make you LESS anxious! I think the general availability is quite good. We arrive on 5/2 in the afternoon so I got a BTM FP for 4:10. I can't remember how availability was earlier but I don't remember it being a problem. You should be good to get it for 5/3. I had that one maybe eighth on the priority list and it was not an issue.

I didn't check for 5/3 today since that was our first day of CL FPs and we had BTMR already selected for then, but if 5/2 availability is any indicator, you'll be perfectly fine. We basically had our pick of times, I booked it for noon because our flight gets into MCO at 8:30a and I like to have the extra bit of time cushion for Magical Express. I was really shocked given how popular MK is on Saturday (I'm still floored about so much Mine Train availability).

Funny thing is, 7DMT will still have a 2+ hour wait day of.

Congrats Major, are you getting married, then heading to WDW, or are you just taking a late honeymoon?

Hi. We are hoping to stay at The Swan from 25th May for 9 nights. Will the condition of the plants for the Epcot Flower and Garden have tailed off a bit by then?

We'll be at MK on the same day! Should I walk around loudly yelling "Is SJMajor67 here? If so, happy honeymoon!!":rotfl2:

My first and only time to F&G was on the last day of it back in 2016, and everything looked gorgeous. Photos and videos I've seen for years since have been the same. Personally I feel like it's better to go later into the festival because everything has a chance to get into full bloom.

That's good to know. Thanks.
I presume the butterfly section will still be in full swing as well.

I've been the day before it opened and the day after it ended (same year) - it was MUCH prettier the day after (as well as during the 1-2nd week)!

So I got my fast passes! Big thunder wasn’t available for 5/3 which I was bummed about, but I’ll figure that out. I got everything else I wanted though including 2 FOP on 60+2 and 60+4 with no issues. I do have to move my smuggler run and 7DMT FPs up because they didn’t have the time I wanted, but I have 60 days to find something to open up so I know I’ll get them! Other than that I got everything I wanted! I feel so much better and now I can breaaathe! Lol!!

I'm shocked that BTMR wasn't available but I guess everyone wants one last ride before it goes down for all of two weeks.
