YAY!! Booked my trip with my client from work!!

Well,

I FINALLY got approval to take a client I work with to Disney this June!!!!! She has autism and lives in one of our group homes. She graduated from high school last year and has made an excellent transition to her new job. She has worked so hard and earned lots of money. She has everything she could possibly need and in discussing how to spend down her account I quietly said....."I'd LOVE to take her to Disney World!" Everyone at the meeting looked at me and said "why not??"

It took some careful planning to get the executive director on board, but I finally got approval in Friday, just in time to book a trip during free dining.

I know that she is going to have a wonderful time, and I am going to have a wonderful time watching her discover one of my favorite places. Everyone at work agreed that I ( a Disney Freak ) would be the only person in the agency capable of doing such a trip with her.

So we are going from May 28-June 2 and have dining reservations at Akershus, Crystal Palace, Tusker House Breakfast, Teppan Edo, and 50's Prime Time.

I am SOOO excited and can't wait to tell her. We have so much to work on and practice before we go, and I know she is going to really learn a LOT on this trip.

Glad that your client will get the opportunity to experience Disney. If she has to spend down her funds, glad that at least she'll be able to use them for something fun and memorable.

Wow, that's great! My DD who had worked in a group home is now a guardian for many of the clients. I will have to give her that idea, though I don't know if her agency would go for it.
