Anyone have kids knocking on their doors yet? I fully expected to stumble down the stairs and see the first ones at 9 this morning. Not yet though. I have the cats pretending to be green army men and racing from window to window scoping out the block.

Uh oh.

I just heard a child's laugh.

RUN! Here they come!!! :rotfl:

LOL!!!
Thanks for reminding me to annoy the adults to heck.

HaHa! Take Cover! :rotfl::happytv::rotfl2:pirate::badpc:

We get maybe 2 visits for an entire day. That may change, but I really want to get out of the house to avoid it.

I get to work tonight - I will be watching out for the little ones and keeping things safe!

DH will take DD around so that also means I have none of my own Halloween candy at home to tempt me...
:ssst::tiptoe: (there may be some poaching tomorrow!)

We're usually working - I was looking forward to seeing the little ghosts and spidermen. But my husband went to the barber today who told him it's tradition in this area for the kids to go trick or treating from 5 to 7.

If I'm lucky, we'll see some before we go out around 6:30 - sigh

they even have a 7 pm CURFEW in this area - who knows why, it's very rural, not like they're worried about gangs or whatever - I guess the farmers have to get their sleep.

I use to enjoy Halloween each year. Lately we have had more adults come to our door than children. About 70% adults to 30% children. Which I wouldn't usually mind, if maybe they are having some kind of party, scavenger hunting or with children, but they aren't even in costume and they are holding a Walmart bag. I don't get it! They could buy a bag of candy for a couple of dollars. In my area, its not the same anymore.

They don't start until it gets dark. Maybe 6pm. I never heard of anyone trick or treating during the day. We usually get around 100 kids. Don't know if there will be more because there is no school tomorrow. My bag of candy only has 150 so, that has to last.

We had a cute pair of twins boys, about 6 - they were the Mario brothers! cute :goodvibes

then a second group of 4 and I think that may be it for us :confused3

We had a full day of soccer games, parties and then Trick or Treating. So my wife put out a bowl of candy with a note to take just 2 things each. We got home last night around 9:30PM and there was still about 10 pieces left. Honesty is alive and well! ;)

We hang out for a bit and hand out candy, then we take our kiddies out and do the same thing. We came home to a full bowl of candy. Honesty is alive and well in our neck of the woods as well.:thumbsup2

In our area we get around 150 kids. Seems like they get bussed into our neighborhood...not that I mind. The twins next door dressed up like two members of KISS. My husband was THRILLED! The worst/sadest costume was a little boy around 5 or 6 who had a sweet little beard painted on his face. When I told him how cute he was he told me, "I'm a Pimp. See, I'm wearing a suit." OH MY GOSH!! Didn't know what to say so I told him, "Good Luck with that" He's to little to know but shame on his parents.

Wow i think once your 18 or 19ish you need to stop trick or treating unless your one adult taking a bunch of kids out

We had 87 kids come last night. Not as many as we used to several years ago.

One girl around 10 yrs old was dressed as a plaid from DLR. :thumbsup2 I told her I liked that one, it was my favorite place and she said it was hers too. :goodvibes I've never seen that one before!

Another time I opened the door just before a group of kids were about to knock. They were preschool age. One, who was dressed as Luke Skywalker in his flying gear, asked me, "Did you sense we were here?" I said, "Yes, I used the Force." and they all made a collective "Oooooh" sound. :rotfl2: One little boy stayed to ask me if the candy MnMs I gave him uses the force. I said it did and he asked again, and I said yes, we'll just pretend it does. :goodvibes

On the other end, one teenager was dressed in a skimpy Miss Muffet outfit. Unfortunately, she was rather large and I didn't think it made her look as hot as she thought. :confused3
