Yankee Candle Tarts vs. Housewarmers: I think the Tarts are

That's why I couldn't find Ocean Waters at the YC store - I had gotten one at a Hallmark & loved it - the clerk @ YC knew nothing about it - she kept asking me if I was confusing it with another scent....I was starting to wonder if I was, lol
I guess I'm one of the few that likes Fireside. I use it in the winter, in the great room or in the powder room - I agree it doesn't smell like a wood fire, but it seems to complement the smell of our fireplace. Makes for a very toasty warm & cozy atmosphere when it's cold & nasty outside...
As far as tarts vs. candles - I'm not picky - I use tarts, housewarmers & votives, depending on the room & my mood....

I'm not picky about my candles, but, I do have 3 tart warmers now and that is what I have been using lately. I really like the fact that you can try alot of different scents w/ the tart warmers, without spending alot of money.
I absolutely LOVE Clean Cotton, but my DH hates it!
Can't wait to try out some of the fall scents. And I would love to get a blueberry muffin. I haven't seen it around here yet.

I guess I am going to have to get a tart warmer.....:o

I absolutely LOVE Clean Cotton, but my DH hates it!
Junior....how could you???????? I LOVE Clean Cotton also, actually there are very few that I don't care for.

I had the Clean Cotton burning yesterday and our house smelled so nice! (it does smell a lot like Downey Fabric Softener, and I love that scent too!)

I went out and bought 4 more last night! Another Clean Cotton, Pumpkin Pie, Midsummer's Night (which smells like a men's cologne to me!) and Christmas Cookie. I did see the Ocean Water, but decided against it. I'm sure I'll be back for it though!

LOL, believe! He says he doesn't want to smell fabric softener all day! :teeth:
I love it!! I'll just have to burn them while he is at work! :teeth:

The scents that only like the Hallmark stores have right not are the Ocean Water, Blueberry Muffin, Cranberry Chutney, Banana something or other, and a lemongrass sage. All smell wonderful.

There is an online site that sells Yankee also that I use, with $60 order free shipping and it comes super fast they sometimes have the "odd" scents that Yankee doesn't sell in their stores, but sends out to their other retailers.

I don't like Fireside at all...smells like a campfire and it just doesn't do a thing for me. I prefer the Blueberry Muffin to just the plain blueberry, don't know why, but I think it smells better. I'm Yankee candle poor.....I always can't resist when I see them. My cupboard has a bunch right now in it, you gotta be prepared you know!!;)

You guys are in trouble!

First you started me on the large jars by YC. It started innocently enough -- I bought one, then two, then a few more when the YC store had a buy one get one 1/2 price sale.

Then I heard about tarts. Found a warmer I liked so I picked it up. Then a got a few tarts to go with it. Then DH bought me a big bag of tea lights on sale somewhere. So now I have a canister filled with tarts and a bunch of large jars.

I just got one of those metal jar thingies that's supposed to make the jar burn evenly.

Will the insanity ever end?

Quite doubtful;) ;)

Its just like everytime I stop in at a YC store, I stand around like have no clue as to what the stuff smells like, and I make it a life or death shopping trip....I break out in a sweat....what scent will I buy today....what size.....what's this new one....do I really want something new....oh, this one is on sale...how many should I stock ahead...do I need a gift for anyone...ah, then I go back and buy my favorites and all is well with the world.:)

I like the tarts and own 5 or 6 tart warmers, however, I still believe the large jars have the best and longest lasting scents. I have a few different jars throughout the house as well as a couple of tart warmers and I mix my fragrances. When I am testing a new fragrance, I always try the tart first, I save the large jars for my favorites. I also use the cheap tealights because you can get a bunch for a great price as opposed to the Yankee Candle brand.

I am a Yankee Candle addict! I just purchased two new tart warmers on ebay, I can't wait until they arrive!!! I also can't wait until next week when my favorite fragrance....Macintosh....goes on sale! :)

:bounce::wave::bounce:

I agree Blondie...for a bit the tarts are much more overpowering but after they "cook" for a while they lose their scent and then that's when you finish with the housewarmer!!!! :D :D :D :D

Welcome to our obsession!!!!!! LOL
