I just bought the Yankee Candle tea lights in Pupmkin Pie (which smell incredible.) I burned two last night, leaving them to burn for quite a while. When I blew them out, all the wax was liquid. I left them to cool and harden.

Today, I smelled the ones I used last night, which have rehardened. But there is very little smell left. Do they normally lose their smell after the wax has melted?

I don't think so! My tea lights retain their smell until there is no more wax left.

Although you do know the tea lights are the least strong, right? If you want a strong smelling candle, get the tart!

Thanks for the tip! I've always wondered about the tarts, you have to have the special warmer for them, right?

Yes, you get a tart warmer, and you use them with tea lights. One of those suckers will smell up your entire house! And they can be used over and over again.

They also can be used with electric tart burners, but I've never actually used one of those.....that would aleviate the need for a tea light though.

You can also melt votives in the wax melters/warmers. They take a few minutes longer, but they will liquify and they are much cheaper than the tarts. You just have to pull out the wicks.

You can melt them in an electric potpourri crockpot.

I've done this too but they don't smell as strong as the tarts. And I have found I can use the tarts over and over again, up to about 5 times usually.

I love Yankee Candles.

I just bought Pumpkin Pie in the Frangracer (electric)..... can't wait for it to start smellin' up the joint! :goodvibes

I do it with the votives (instead of the tarts) in the crockpot and they smell for about a week. I actually like doing that better than burning the candles because I can change the scents more often. The only reason I buy the votive instead of the tart is because they're bigger.

You were right! I got a tart warmer and the pumpkin pie tart today. The whole place smelled like it. It was great! Now, thanks to you, I'ma tart addict! :flower: But that's okay, there are worse things to be addicted to, right?
