How is this? What are the portions like? We typically eat at Flame Tree when we go to this park and I am looking at giving this one a try.

We ate there at the end of August and the food was pretty good. We all enjoyed our meals and they were decent size. Not as big as Flame Tree though and the eating area just can't compare. In fact we carried our food to Flame Tree and ate there.:rotfl:

We liked Yak and Yeti CS. The portions come in take-out boxes of a fair size; it was just enough, if not a little much, for lunch.

Good grief. I just checked out the menu -- those prices seem outrageous for a CS meal! $22 for an entree???? YIKES! :scared1:

If you scroll down the menu further you'll get to the "Snack" section, which lists the counter service options which are around $8-10. I think you were looking at the Full service restaurant options.
Hope this helps,
Leah

I wasn't impressed with the food and wouldn't go back - but the portion was large.

My friend and I ate at the TS portion in Feb. and loved it! I'm hoping to try the CS section when we go in Dec. as a family :).

Can anyone tell me what the chicken is like for the kids? Are they like chicken nuggets or do they have sauce on them? We may have to go somewhere else to get my youngest DS a meal ;).

We ate there yesterday. We really enjoyed the food (most of all the honey chicken .. YUM!).
As for the portions.. well I consider us pretty solid eaters and not one of us finished our meal.. and didn't even touch our desserts.
It was a great alternative to burgers and fries.
I would recommend it.

Last time I ate at Yak and Yeti CS is the last time I'll eat there. I got up from my seat for a second, and a grackle swooped down, grabbed one of my nuggets from the box and took off with it. Now, I know that can happen anywhere with aggressive birds, but I think I'll avoid Yak and Yeti.

You won't go back because a bird grabbed one of your nuggets?? How was the food?

I was planning on eating at the Yak & Yeti CS in August but the outdoor seating was a deal breaker for me. Animal Kingdom tends to be the hottest park to begin with and you really need a place to cool down. Thankfully the TS restaurant got us right in and it was very relaxing and most importantly air conditioned. Oh yeah and the food was good. My daughter keeps asking if we can find a restaurant at home with the honey chicken.

We ate there three times last week~ The portions are very generous, and the prices about 8-11 per entree. We tried the Kung Pao Beef, Honey Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, and Sweet and Sour Pork. The Lo Mein was my Fav, DH loved the Pork, and DIL loved the Honey Chicken. The Beef was also good. We all chose the Mango Tart for dessert each time, and had another with a snack credit later. We took our trays and ate at the seating around flame tree, cooler and shadier.

A word about the birds, as long as customers keep feeding them, they will continue to mob the seating areas. There are signs all over animal Kingdom DON'T FEED the ANIMALS! (they are not on the DDP!:goodvibes )

We also ate inside at Yak and Yeti- Skirt Steak and Shrimp, and The Miso Salmon, the wonderful Fried Wonton Dessert for both of us! One of the best meals on the trip!

Hmmmmmm...we ALWAYS eat at Flame tree(I'm a pulled pork sandwich lover!!) but DH and DS LOVE asian food. We may have to try this place this year:thumbsup2

Sorry, I guess I have an unnatural aversion to bird germs (from their mouth and feet) on my food. In answer to your question about how was the food, nothing at all special.

We did the same. The seating at Flame Tree is our favourite and we look forward to eating there whenever we are at AK. It is so nice of Yak and Yeti CS to box your food up nicely. It makes it easier to carry it to the Flame Tree seats.:rotfl2:
