I tried to get LeCellier for our trip in December, but with no luck! So we decided to make an ADR for Yachtsman Steakhouse on our Epcot day. We have a 6pm reservation. If we are going to be in the WS at Epcot, what is the best way to get to the Yacht Club? Is it easier to walk or take a boat? How long does it take for both?

Also, any reviews (or pics) or food would be helpful too! My dh is very upset I couldn't get LeCellier, so I need to sell him on this restaurant!

ohmygosh! he will love the yachtsman! it is fabulous!! i do enjoy le cellier, but the yachtsman is just a notch up. i order the filet mignon and you can cut it w/a fork. YUM!! we have dined there many times. it is a very easy walk out the international gate from world showcase. just stay to the right on the sidewalk. enjoy!:yay:

It is a very enjoyable walk. The background music and the landscaping are exceptional. If the weather allows, I would walk. If it is raining badly ie thunder lightening, the boats will not run. Then I would take the bus to YC.

Enjoy your meal. It is one of our favorite restaurants!!

We usually walk. It's maybe a 5 - 10 minute walk at most.

Is your DH a steak person? If so, tell him that coming from one steak person to another.....Yachtsman was FANTASTIC.

disney queen is correct, there is no bus from Epcot to the Epcot resorts. Your choices are as mentioned by op, either walk or take the boat.

We always walk and it is wonderful. The BC is the first hotel you get to after you exit the WS then YC. If the weather is bad then just take the boat. They operate even under bad conditions, at least we have rode them when it has been pouring down rain. BTW the Yachtsman is amazing! Went there for my anniversary and it was delicious, probably better than Le Cellier.

Yachtsman is our favorite restaurant. We have eaten at Le Cellier and, to be honest, the Yachtsman is better. The food is great and the service excellent. You will not be disappointed.

Oh, your hubby will NOT be disappointed with Yachtsman! We like it SO MUCH better for so many reasons!! The food, the ambiance, the lovely view of SAB (ask for a window table), everything!

It's not a terribly long walk from WS, but after a long day you might be better off taking the boat. Make sure you leave enough time either way, tho.

If you click the first review link in my sig you'll find a YSH review with some nice pics. It's one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. :thumbsup2

I just read your responses to my husband - who by the way is a HUGE steak fan! We are really excited to try this one now. I'm excited about the walk too especially since we've never been to those resorts before.

Now I only hope that my three boys (ds6, ds3, and ds2weeks) will all behave at a nice restaurant!! Well, I'm not too worried about the older ones, but I am a little concerned about the baby!

THANKS AGAIN!!:thumbsup2

To add to this: the YC and BC are physically connected and people often refer to them as one resort. However, it is not possible to get from the BC to the YC without going outside. Thus, in order to get to Yachtsman Steakhouse, do not try to enter through the BC lobby.

The most straightforward route is to enter the YC at the main back entrance and turn right and follow the corridor from there. If you want to save a little walking, you could try to enter the pool area where Hurricane Hannah's is and then walk through. When you exit the pool area on the other side, there is an entrance to the YC which is right where YS is located.

We too have ridden the boats in pouring rain, however there are times they stop running. This happened on 9/1 while we were at DHS. As we walked toward the boat, we were advised to go to the bus stop (#?) and there would be one there for the Epcot Resort Hotels.

While YSH is very good, after eating there on 9/3 I have to say it is not as amazing as it once was. The 2 things I found incredible (prime rib and horseradish potatoes) are now gone. The creamed spinach wasn't as creamy/cheesy as it used to be either. It was more milky. It wasn't a bad meal, but just not as amazing as I found it the past 4 times I have dined there. :(

We ran into this same situation when we did our ADRs and couldn't get Le Cellier for the last trip, and a wonderful CM told me I should try Yachtsman - best decision ever!

It was by far the best meal of our trip, I will likely never go to Le Cellier for steaks again - the quality was just far superior at Yachtsman! I am not a huge mashed potato fan and even those were amazing! The whole meal was fantastic, and the service and atmosphere far outdo Le Cellier. So glad we tried it out :)

BTW - My sister is a huge steak fan and she also said the filet at The Wave was amazing - it was her favorite meal of her last trip...I've added that to my list for next year's ADRs :)

If you take the boat, it will take awhile longer than walking. The boat goes to BW first, then over to YC/BC..it can take over 10 mins, and that's if there is a boat there, waiting and boarding as you arrive at the dock. Otherwise, you could be waiting for up to 20 mins for the next one to come.
I almost always walk rather than take the boat to YC/BC and BW. It takes about 8 mins to get to BC. I do enter BC to get to YC..it's a nice walk through BC, then outside along the pool area and then back inside when you get to YC. Especially nice if it's raining or very hot.

When I order steak, I almost always order filet. When we went to the YSH, it was the best filet I have EVER had! In fact, we ended up eating there twice during our last visit it was that good.

Your kids will like the Mickey puzzle for dessert.

I'm excited! We have Yachtmans booked for our first evening at WDW. We ate there during our first trip to Disney, and it was excellent. It will be nice to return!

I know I am in the minority here, but we do not like the YS. We have tried it 3 times, and we will not return. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was wonderful, but we just did not like the food. My DH is a butcher and we know and like good steak. The food here was over spiced and disappointing.
Have a Great Trip
