If you were only planning on dining at one signature restaurant, and you had it narrowed down to two choices, Yachtsman & Narcoossee's, which one would you choose? I am very interested in hearing from the ones who have eaten @ both of these...Thanks!!!:cool1::banana:

I have never been to Narcoossee's but I wasn't so crazy about YS. It was good but I think if I could redo, I would choose N.

You are asking us to make a difficult decision. These are both very enjoyable dining experiences, although they are also very different. Yachtsman is more formal (but still family friendly). We had a table that looked out over the pool and toward Crescent Lake, so the view was very nice, particularly at sunset. They oak grill there, and I got the ribeye which did not disappoint.

Narcoossee's is more informal and does have an unequalled (closest) view of Cinderella's Castle and the Wishes fireworks for a dining venue. The non red meat selections are better, so we tend to eat there more frequently becuase my wife doesn't eat beef.

As with any dining choice, factor in the touring plan you are putting together and consider whether or not going to one of these will give you an opportunity to see things you'd otherwise not. For example, after eating at Yachtsman, we go to Boardwalk, walk around and catch what you can see of Illiminations then go back to our rooms. After eating at Narcoosee's, we walk around the GF, grab a nightcap in the lobby and then go back to our rooms.

Don't think you can make a wrong choice, but you can make a more right choice regarding the rest of your plans.

Yachtsman was good, but nothing about it was really stand-out unique. The menu and atmosphere are similar to any number of good steakhouses we've visited, the service was what you would expect in a restaurant of that price/quality, but it just wasn't as "Disney" as dining at Narcoosees with that lovely view. Plus I'm not a big beef eater and DH & DS love a good steak but love lobster more, so if we had to choose between the two, we'd go with Narcoosees. But as EastonCat said, you really can't go wrong with either, so if one fits into your plans better than the other you might want to use that as the deciding factor.

We prefer Yachtsman over Narcoosees. Narcoosees has a beautiful view but between the two, we prefer the food at Yachtsman.

We ate at Yachtsman a few years back and we liked it. The food was good. We had a view of the butcher and he was very funny. He was acting silly and we enjoyed watching him.

We have eaten at both. I would say yachtsman would win if you are looking for steak, although my kids had filet mignons at Narcoosee's that were perfect. I enjoyed my steak at yachtsman and loved the whole lobster at narcoosee's. Try checking out the current menus at allears.net and see what looks best to you. I don't think you can go wrong either way, although the view is better at narcoosee's.

I love questions with no wrong answers. :goodvibes

We've done both and would probably decide according to where we were going to be for the evening. Both are nice dining experiences and priced approximately the same. You might want to check out the menus here on the DIS to help you decide. ysh menu Narcoossee's menu

We prefer Narcoosee. We love their surf and turf. Well, I usually substitute scallops for the lobster.:rolleyes1 We also love their almond cheesecake.:cloud9: Yatchsman while OK, didn't seem to be any better than many of the steakhouses around here. Although to be fair, I live in Texas where good steaks are easily found. Yatchsman does have an excellent seafood salad appetizer though.

We've eating at both and they were both good. I'd say we choose Narcoosee's over Yachtsman because it's a little less formal and we have many good steakhouses in our area of the country. You can't go wrong with either one. I'd look at where you're going to be that day and book whichever one was closest or where you want to end your day.

Thanks so much for the reviews!!!! Just as I figured, both are so good that the reviews are about 50/50....FYI, We will be leaving Hollywood Studios after a weekend of Star Wars on Sun 06-14-09, so which one of these two would actually be closer...I want something late, because we will attend the star wars wrap-up @ 7pm, before leaving for dinner.....Thanks again!!!!!

Yachtsman is closer to DHS. Just hop the boat to the Yacht/Beach Club dock and there you are. :goodvibes
