We are hoping to reserve an Illuminations Cruise aboard the Breathless for this August. I read that you can arrange food/drink through the Yacht Club's private dining service.

Has anybody done this before? What are the prices and choice like? Is there an e-mail address for them?

Thank you! :wizard:

I took the Breathless in May and enjoyed the 1 and a half tour around the waterways,,then finally Illuminations. But...NEVER AGAIN !!
There were 6 adults and 1 child. We didn't go thru Disney dining (very expensive).
Just brought a small cooler with a bottle of wine & juice...and never had the opportunity to open it!

Background..I live on the water with a boat in the backyard..so the boat ride was no big deal to me.

First.. the ride timeframe is not very long, you will be looking around @ the scenery, and the breathless is going faster than the pontoon boats..so pouring and drinking would have been difficult.

Second...You can't stand up..must stay seated.

Third...there are 3 rows of seats. Between the 2nd and 3rd row IS the engine so....the people in the back were really in-accessible to pass drinks.
It was great to hear the history of the Breathless from our driver.

I guess I didnt know where the boat would anchor to see Illuminations. BUT...here we are...under the "Gateway Epcot Entrance Bridge"..anchored to the bridge..all of us in a row (remember UNDER the bridge).

All I could say is....IS this all there is??? :confused3
Here we paid big bucks and the people ON the bridge have a better seat and view than I do ??? Very disappointing !! :sad2:

I guess you have seen the breathless?? I do have a pic that the captain took if you need to see the seating. PM me and Ill send it to you.

I would suggest the pontoon boat instead..if you must go.......

Wow, I have heard so many great reviews about the Breathless Illuminations Cruise.....is the view not very good under the bridge? Is the boat too fast for pouring drinks then?

Thanks!

We did the cruise once on one of the pontoon boats, which also park under the bridge to watch the show. The view is just fine from there, as it is from numerous other places around the WS lagoon. In any event, I wouldn't recommend paying for one of these cruises in hopes of getting a better view of the fireworks.

For us, the fun was being out on the boat with good friends, enjoying the evening and seeing the show from a somewhat new perspective. In addition, after the show, the boat went out into the WS lagoon and drove around for a few minutes, which was lots of fun.

Francess........

Remember everyone's opinion will differ.
The Breathless is a speedboat and they wisk around at a good clip...down the waterway passed the Boardwalk Villa's toward MGM, then turn around, passed the Boardwalk then cruise down to the Gateway by EPCOT.

At the bridge..you can see only whats in front of you and yes the fireworks and view of the world are great..but you're at water level..dont get to see around the World Showcase, as you do on top of the bridge, the sides block you and dont get to see all the countries doing their thing.
If you must go...take the pontoon boats.
IMHO...this is NOT worth $175. !!

The Breathless is a beautiful boat, but as Seneca mentioned, it's not really set up to have any type of food or drink on board. The 3 rows are very seperated and it would be difficult to communicate with someone in another row nevermind trying to pass a plate of strawberries around. The views under the bridge are incredible, but because the regular pontoon boats are alittle more forward, they would probably have a slightly better view.

As for private dining, you would need to call the YC and be transferred to their department.

Thanks for the post! I just arranged for my parents to have a pontoon on May 10th for their 25th wedding anniversary. I'd like to have food for them from the Yacht Club private dining if it isn't too unreasonable. Does anyone have any more information on the private dining selection or prices?
