Hi - we are planning a trip the week leading up to Christmas and decided to stay at an Epcot resort. We've stayed at the Beach Club before and want to try a new hotel. We are looking for great Christmas decorations - does one resort have an edge over the other that you would recommend? Thanks!

Well with beach club you get both yacht and beach club decorations. Beach club always has an amazing carousel, a big tree and a store where they sell cocoa and gingerbread and the yacht club always has model train/snow village, a big tree and last year for the first time they did a huge working gingerbread lighthouse. Both hotels smelled amazing.

Thanks! I didn't think about getting the beach club decorations but that's great.

I know that you mentioned an Epcot resort. But you also said: "We are looking for great Christmas decorations".

Have you stayed at Wilderness Lodge (or CCV) at Christmas?

Wilderness Lodge (CCV) at Christmas almost has no rival when it comes to holiday decorations and theming!

Nice! We haven’t stayed there at Christmas. I’ll definitely check it out while we are there. Thanks
You can check out the Holiday Decorations Thread to get an idea of what each resort offers. Might help sway you. Good luck!

We have stayed at YC many times during the holiday season. In addition to their themed tree, they have a Christmas Village/ train display. Last year, they added a gingerbread replica of their Lighthouse. Of course, every year may be different, so it’s hard to predict what they’ll have this year. These are some pictures from last year, with a few close ups of the village scenes. IMG_1375.jpegIMG_1376.jpegIMG_1377.jpegIMG_1379.jpegIMG_1378.jpeg

I only had a few of Beach Club’s carousel

We didn’t make it to Boardwalk last year. But in the past, they had a gingerbread replica of the Boardwalk area. Their tree usually has old fashioned glass blown ornaments & lots of swag. Of course, all the deluxe resorts have trees that duplicate their resort theme. YC’s tree has lots of sailboats on it, WL has birds & nature themed etc. And they all have some type of gingerbread display. If you like the theming or not is really personal preference. Many people think WL’s Christmas decorations are the best on property. My family doesn’t. We’re not big nature lovers & prefer the more traditional type decorations. I would spend every afternoon walking around the Christmas village at YC & rarely venture to see WL’s display.

The nice thing about staying at Beach, Yacht, or Boardwalk is that you can enjoy all three just walking around the resort bay and see all their Christmas decorations. Boardwalk's isn't quite at the level of Beach and Yacht, but still very nice vintage style decorations.

If you want to try different areas, Grand Floridian is highly visited for its Christmas display with a massive tree and a huge gingerbread house that serves snacks and beverages.

As already mentioned, Wilderness Lodge is beautiful at Christmas and with the northern park lodge design feels the most seasonally 'Christmas-like'.

I'm at Disney World every December, and no matter where I stay, I usually take time during my trip to tour various resorts to enjoy their Christmas displays. Other resorts I like to visit are Animal Kingdom Lodge, Coronado Springs, and Fort Wilderness Campground (some of the Christmas displays that the RVers and custom busses put up are stunning).

I think BWI's holiday decorations are better than YC's, however, YC is a far better resort, IMHO, in terms of access to QS/TS and other amenities, plus you have BC and the beautiful carousel right next door. The nice thing about the EP resorts is they are all close to each other and it's fairly easy to stroll the Boardwalk and take it all in (including the decor at Swan/Dolphin)

I appreciate all the feedback. We’ve decided to stay at Yacht Club. We are really looking forward to our first Christmas trip to Disney. Thanks all!
