My friend and I are going to Disney next July to celebrate my 50th. Girls only. No hubby's allowed. Right now I have us booked for YC but looking at the discounts now, YC is 15% off and Contemp is 25% off. I know that we don't know what, if any, discounts will be around next summer, but one can always hope. So, do I change my reservation now when I can get a main tower at Contemp or should I just keep YC? We will be there for 4 days and 3 nights. I am not doing hopper passes at this time so we are really one park a day. Not counting arrival day. So, 3 park ticket days. Originally I thought we could just walk to Epcot, but I'm wondering if we would be smarter to stay at Contemp. Decisions decisions. Either way, if there is no discount, we are prepared to pay. Right now it's a difference of about $400. So $200 for each of us.

I would be more torn by water view at YC, but the garden view makes the choice easy. Plus, the main tower is the place to be for CR, the CR garden wings are a bit of a hike.

I have not stayed at CR, but did just stay at Yacht Club. I loved the Yacht Club; easy walk to EPCOT and HS. Plenty of bars in the area, more of adult vibe. Depends on what you’re into.

I could go water view at YC for almost the same price as staying at CR. UGH. I wish I had an infinite amount of money and could stay at both. LOL

Wow. This one is really challenging :) I feel your dilemma. I love YC and that whole area. But I like CR as well and the lake view too (plus I love MK and being on that monorail loop). I think it may come down to which of the three parks I'm likely to spend most of my time at on the trip. If it's DHS and Epcot, then YC. If it's MK then that may tip to CR. Of course, there is always the Stormalong Bay factor if you like pools.

I know right!! We are doing Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. Neither one of us are that concerned with Star Wars and my husband is. So, I am waiting to see that, for the first time, the next time I go with him. Stormalong Bay is one of the reasons I picked YC but we are working in the pool during the hot part of the day. Our plan is to go early, come back around lunch and swim, take a shower, and go back to the park for dinner.

If you are looking forward to some pool time, I would stick with YC. Stormalong Bay is a far better pool than the one at CR - the CR one really needs a refurb. I think, overall, YC is a much better resort than CR. I love being able to walk around the Boardwalk area and take advantage of all of the different QS and TS options within walking distance.

Between those two, I would go with YC. I personally like the rooms better, and there’s so much to do on the Boardwalk.

I really do love both resorts. However, Yacht Club puts you within walking distance of two parks, plus the benefits of the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin. Having to only bus to AK and MK is glorious. Beautiful resort. Great restaurants nearby. Great pool. Love the theming as well.

For a girls trip, I feel like YC has a more elevated feel that CR. I always felt like CR is full of families with kids who want the ease of access to MK. Also, while the main atrium is pretty, it can get pretty loud. YC feels more low key and fancy to me.

Done both resorts.

The view from the CR tower of lake are spectacular but if I was to do the tower I’d make sure to have park view. You can see so much from the room. You have easy access to PY and GF for different dining. The rooms are HUGE!!! We FOT 3 adults and 2 kids in one room and it never felt crowded. The pool is nothing to write home about. Walking to MK is a treat! And being on Monorail is a plus too. It is also the first resort. Lots of great history staying there.
YC Id consider our home resort. Dining options galore! I’d pay the extra for waterview over garden. Pool is the best. (Both resorts have cabanas you can rent. Did that at CR. Really special) easy walk to Epcot. You will have to bus or ride share to MK and AK. The room is good size. If I was to travel with just my wife and without kid I’d go with YC for all the other stuff it has access to.
