We are planning to spend an evening on the Boardwalk on our trip in early Feb. and trying to decide between Spoodles and Yacht Club Galley. We've done Spoodles for breakfast and really enjoyed it, but I've never even walked by the Yacht Club Galley (and we've stayed at the YC, not sure how I missed it!!).

Anyway, we're wanting something fairly casual since our daughter is 22 months old so Flying Fish and Yachtsman are out. But maybe not quite so casual as ESPN or Beaches and Cream.

I've checked out the menus, but just wanted some personal experiences.
Your thoughts on these restaurants or other suggestions?

It is interesting that you picked those two restuarants. For our trip last March, I made an ADR for Spoodles for our first evening at WDW. When we got to our resort and I confirmed our ADRs, there was a mistake, and they had us down for an ADR at Spoodles for a few weeks later (when we obviously werent going to be at WDW). Unfortunately, Spoodles was all booked up. We really wanted to eat in the Crescent Lake area, so the CM scoured the system and the only ADR available was at Yacht Club Galley.

We loved the YC Galley. I had the steak with the rock shrimp add on and it was delicious! I think you would be fine at either restaurant.

I have been to the Galley and think it would be a good choice for a family with a young one. The food is good and the restaurant was not crowded (early weekend in Nov)

We were at Disney World for the 1st time in January, 05 with our DS (then 8) and our DDS (twins then 5). We all absolutely loved Yacht Club Galley. It is a cozy restaurant and perfect for families. The food was great and they took special care of our children. I highly recommend Yacht Club Galley.

I'd go with Spoodles - the open kitchen layout makes for a lot to watch and it's a little noisy which I usually think is good when you've got a toddler!

We discovered the Yacht Club Galley on out last visit. The food was fabulous. I cant wait to go back. :cool1:

I don't know what to do!!!! Both places sound great. We've done breakfast at Spoodles, so maybe we'll try something new and go with the Yacht Club Galley.

Thanks everyone!

Both used to be favorites, but both have had some menu changes that aren't for the better. I think overall the service is better at YCG, it's seldom crowded, and it's quieter. But I think that since they've changed the menu, I prefer the menu at Sppodles. Too bad, because one of the best meals I've ever had was at the YCG about ayear ago.
