Okay, here's a newbie to the YC & BC area!! We've stayed at the WL the last 2 years and my DH and I are looking for a "new" hotel - and our boys (11 & 8) are thinking that the pool at SAB is right up their alley!!

So, here's my question - for the lazyriver area, are there innertubes you can rent/borrow for it, or do you need to bring your own??

They have clear tubes for the lazy river - I'm pretty sure it's rental instead of borrowing, but others who have used them can confirm!

Also wanted to let you know that, after multiple stays at WL, we switched back to BC. (I had stayed there before, but our boys had not.) Our pre-teen boys loved SAB, and they loved BC! Have a great trip!

I am only "allowed" to talk to DH about Disney in short little snippits as he doesnt like to talk Disney 24/7.....but I told him I was going to push for the BC/YC this time and his response was.."but I just wasnt so impressed with it when we visited"..

now, we only "visited" the lobby, Cape May's and the gift shop...but we walked through the pool area and that's where my boys went ga-ga!!

But, as DH likes to point out.."we dont go to WDW just to hang out at the pool all day"...even though it IS fun to swim after a day sweating in the June heat!!

I think the "impressiveness" that DH is lacking at the BC is just the different/lesser obvious theme between the WL and the BC...I mean, the WL's theme is all up in your face where the BC is more "beach subtle"...

I think DH is trying to get me to stay at the GF - b/c "its so pretty"...according to him.......but I dont know where he think's Im finding that extra bag o' money to pay for the GF!!

What can you tell me that will help convince DH that the BC/YC is where we should be??

ps...We enjoy eating dinners at the various restaurants in Epcot, so that's my #1 reason for being over there -so I need more "hotel specific" things you love...

I do not think it was a waterview room. The CL CM did say we were getting our request, which was just a courtyard view. It did have a full balcony with two chairs and a small table. It was a nice bonus to have the water view!

Hey! I'm new to BCV..... we're staying at BLT in Dec. but I'm thinking about staying at BCV the first week of Mar. I really want my son to enjoy Stormalong Bay.... it looks amazing! Is there a section on here about the Views? Is a pool view also a water view since it faces the water? Thanks so much for your help! April

Staying with the main theme of the thread, but veering off a bit.
Just call this post:
"Beach & Yacht, Things that are not there anymore."(all from 11/92)

First up, the Yacht side croquet green, it was where the Gazebo is now:

Next, a shot of the EPCOT Resorts Tram. It ran from between the Yacht Club and the Dolphin, over the bridge to pick up near the Swan. It then made it's way to International Gateway via the boardwalk. (Only a boardwalk then, no resort)

This structure was part of the proposed water pageant for Crescent Lake called "Noah's Ark". When the Boardwalk Entertainment concept was dropped in favor of a resort, the water show went to Neverland.

Finally, what I'm fairly sure is the original Christmas extra at Y&B. Captain Hook, Mr Smee, and a brass quartett . A carol sing a long was led by some local pirate (pictured) which ended with the lighting of the Christmas lights on the Albatross.(DW between Hook & Smee)

Pictures from our June 2010 trip. This is the 2 bedroom suite located on the 4th floor. YC has become our new favorite resort. LOVED IT HERE!

I LOVE seeing old resort photos like that. I was looking over old trip photos the other day and was laughing with my DW about how much has been added on at WDW and how much simpler it was back then.

Can anyone share with me the reason why the BC studio villas are cheaper in price than a BC standard room? I would assume the studio villas are nicer than the standard room; am I wrong? Thanks!

Well short of just catching a dvc room after a rehab they tend to look tired. I have stayed in some where furniture was chipped, wallpaper in disarray, and overall tiredness look of the place. I find the regular disney rooms MUCH nicer than a dvc room. That being said, you do get a mini kitchen in a studio room..but you also get a couch for a bed that pales in comparison to a mattress. So at a dvc room you get a queen bed and a pullout vs. 2 queen beds in a standard room. I have stayed both ways and we dont care for the DVC way at all unless only one night on front or back end of a trip...
