I book for my son to go on the pirate cruise here and while he's doing that for 2 hours, I was wondering what all there is to do around there to kill some time?

Lots! How about lunch at Beaches & Cream (a 50's type diner that serves pretty good ice cream treats too - check out the menu on allears). Or you could go to ESPN Club for a drink (or lunch) and then to Beaches & Cream for dessert! Walk around the boardwalk and enjoy the scenery, entertainment, shopping. You can also walk right in to the Epcot countries (about 5 minute walk from Beach Club) and have lunch or a drink, then just walk back to Beach Club. You will find that 2 hours is not nearly enough time to see that area! It's gorgeous over there with lots to do.

Or you could stroll over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of miniature golf. If you are looking for exercise, you could walk to the Studios and back. (20-25 minutes each way from Yacht Club Pier. Take the bridge toward Boardwalk, then take a right to follow the path along the north side of the canal.) Or check out the Boardwalk Bakery (yum!) Or just lounge on the beach. Yes, Beach Club has a beach! Or check out the Swan and Dolphin resorts if you've never seen them.

I second enjoying the shops around the Boardwalk and the Yacht & Beach. There is a lot to see and explore around these resorts. Have a cocktail or a brew from Big River Brewing.

Did you ever notice that 2 hours without your child is a heck of a lot shorter than 2 hours with your child? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Seriously the 2 hours willl fly by. I'd get a drink and just chill.

Considering the timing of the cruise is 9:30am - 11:30am, that may limit some of your options. The World Showcase doesn't open until 11am, so visiting some Epcot countries will have to be crossed off. If you're planning on eating, I'd just verify which restaurants are open. Some don't open until lunch. You could do a quick manicure or pedicure at the new Mandara Spa or just tour the Boardwalk area.

Is 9:30 too early for a beer?? :o)

I wonder why World Showcase doesn't open until 11??

Shopping sounds good, you can never do enough of that!!

Just did this last week. By the time the kids are loaded up you take your pictures and watch them for a while as they go around the lake it is 9:45 -10:00. Walk over to Spoodles have some breakfast if you want to sit down. Go to the Boardwalk bakery and have a croissant and coffee, visit the wyland gallery or other shops on the boardwalk. Make sure you are back by 11:15 at the latest as the last part of the pirate's cruise is fun to watch. It goes quick.

You're SOOOOO helpful!!! Thank you!!!

I could easily spend an hour browsing in the gift shops of Y&BC. :rolleyes1

Oh....didn't realize the cruise was in the morning...
I'd walk to the Boardwalk Bakery and sit outside with some baked goods.
Then enjoy some boardwalk shopping, walk in the loop around the lake and enjoy the scenery, check out the different resorts too.

when our kids did the cruise it was raining, so we were reluctant to walk to the boardwalk, etc... so we sat in the lobby of the yacht club and enjoyed the big comfy chairs and watching the world go by... we shopped in the gift shop... and simply relaxed... it was heavenly :)

Heavenly is such a pleasant word :o)

Thank you for the ideas!!! I will take them all in!!

10am spa appointment at GF spa. 50 min massage Ddone and back to boat by 11:20am. Maybe with even 10 minutes in the sauna or jacuzzi before or after depending on timing;)

Cape May Cafe is at the Beach Club and one of our favorites spots to eat either breakfast or dinner. It's buffet,..and the selections are very good. It's a lovely resort just to meander around.;)

BTW the last stop of the cruise is in front of the Beach Club. If you are at the dock 15 or so early, you will be able to see them there.

We usually rent a sea raycer for an hour then have something quick at BeachClub Marketplace. Of course we're staying at YC so that gives us more options.

How about breakfast at the Captain's Grille? (formerly Yacht Club Galley). They have a non-character breakfast buffet or ala carte breakfast.

This is why i love this board - you all are so great and have amazing ideas! Being that it's our first trip, I have so many ideas about everything but am totally clueless!! :o)

About the pirate cruise though, the Bayside Marina...is that Beach or Yacht or where exactly is it?
